This is not the date I wanted.

When she said this, Meng Yue couldn't help but sigh with emotion. To be honest, at first she was quite resistant to the fact that she had to wear a female shield, but this vest doesn't require any special way to wear, basically everything is ok after putting it on. It must be said that it is really great to live in a civilized society full of creativity. However, Shidao completely ignored Meng Yue's words at this time.
(That is to say... Mengyue was not wearing anything under her vest...)
After daydreaming for a while, Shidao felt so excited that he was about to bleed from his nose.
Coming back to his senses, Shidou discovered that Mengyue was looking at him with a meaningful smile.
"Shidou, this is really erotic~"
Shidou's cheeks suddenly felt hot, and he argued with a dry cough.
"No, no? I'm a healthy boy too, so it's normal for me to care. Besides, it's Mengyue who's dressed so defenselessly."
"I am free to dress however I want in my room."
Meng Yue answered without any shyness.
“…Mengyue, although I had a vague feeling before, have you never taken the opposite sex seriously?”
"Well, if you say yes, then yes. If you say no, then you can also say no. Okay, let's go."
After giving an ambiguous answer, Meng Yue looked at Shidao's depressed expression, shrugged with a smile, and walked towards the elevator.
——————————————I am the dividing line for leaving the apartment————————————————
As mentioned at the beginning, this trip was just for a walk. Meng Yue obviously didn't have a clear destination, just strolling along the street lights and sidewalks, obviously planning to return home when she was almost there.
Fortunately, Shidao was familiar with the routes near his home, so he didn't have to worry about getting lost.
"How is Rokuko doing? Did she come to see you last night?"
Meng Yue asked curiously.
"Ah, you look very energetic."
Last night, Rokuko invited Shido to go to the rooftop of the apartment to watch the stars. I don't know if it was because they were looking from a high building, or it just happened to be a good day, but the stars in the night sky were shining brightly, which made Rokuko's mood very high.
Unlike before, Shidou could feel that Rokuko no longer had the paranoia he had when they first met. It was as if he had put down a heavy burden and became well-behaved and cute.
What surprised Shidou the most was that Rokuko asked him to trim his beloved hair.
"That's it."
Hearing Shidao's words, Mengyue couldn't help but smile with relief.
"It's a good thing I chose to save her."
"Oh, yes……"
Shidou nodded in agreement.
"So, what is it you want to say, Shidou?"
"..."
Hearing Mengyue's words, Shidao was stunned at first, and then he showed a helpless bitter smile. Looking at Mengyue's calm and gentle profile, he knew that his thoughts had been seen through. "I'm very sorry, Mengyue."
While moving forward at a steady pace in line with Meng Yue's, Shidou spoke solemnly.
"Why are you apologizing? Did you do something bad?"
"It was the time before when we had a quarrel in the airship and I misunderstood what you meant and yelled at you..."
"Ah, that. Haven't you already apologized twice? Why do you have to say it again? I forgave you a long time ago."
"Well... how should I put it. The first time I apologized, I was just being perfunctory, and the second time you didn't remember it. I felt a little uncomfortable being forgiven like this, so I wanted to apologize to you once again."
"I see. You really are serious about this."
Meng Yue sighed lightly and a bitter smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
"Well, actually I want to apologize to you too."
"Eh? Why?"
Shidou felt a little confused.
"Well... it was on Thursday when you were almost cornered by Rokuko. I had already noticed this, but I still couldn't choose to believe you. Instead, I deliberately said so many nasty things to make things difficult for you. I'm really - I'm sorry."
"That is not the case at all."
Hearing Mengyue's apology, Shidou quickly denied it.
"Mengyue had no memory at the time, so it's natural for her to doubt me. Everything is my own fault. It's better to say that it's because you, Mengyue, criticized me with a correct and reasonable attitude that I can understand what I should do. You helped me a lot."
"Say, even if you say so, I can't let it go so easily. How about this——"
Shrugging helplessly, Meng Yue turned to look at Shidao.
"Since both of us have apologized and understand the mistakes we made, let's forgive each other. I accept Shidao's apology, and you accept mine, and let's forget about this matter."
Shidao was stunned at first by Mengyue's proposal, but then he seemed to have figured it out and nodded in agreement.
"That's right, that's it. I forgive you, Mengyue."
"Well, I forgive you too, Shidou."
After saying that, the two looked at each other and laughed out loud at the same time.
By this time, Shidou and Mengyue had walked quite a distance, but neither of them suggested turning back. They strolled on the sidewalk in tacit understanding, enjoying this leisurely time.
"Hey, Shidou, what kind of trees are these?"
Stopping on the way, Meng Yue looked at the row of bare trees on both sides of the green belt and asked curiously.
"This is a cherry tree. But it's still a while before it blooms, so it looks rather bleak."
"Oh, this is the cherry tree!"
As if imagining the beautiful scene of cherry blossoms in full bloom, Meng Yue's eyes showed a gleam of anticipation. Seeing this scene, Shidao couldn't help but smile.
"Let's wait until the cherry blossoms bloom and come here to enjoy them."
"Well, come with everyone!"
"..."
"I'm sorry, but I feel sick to my stomach instead of being happy coming here alone to see the cherry blossoms with Shidou."
Feeling Shidao's silent resentment, Mengyue stuck out her tongue and turned her body half a circle lightly.
"Okay, it's almost time to go home."
In fact, when Shidou yelled at her, "You don't understand anything," Mengyue was more dissatisfied with herself than disappointed with Shidou.
There is no doubt that compared to Shidao's unreasonable views, his own views are more rational, more logical, and more reasonable.
However, so-called rationality does not necessarily mean "correctness". At most, it is a view that is more acceptable to the majority. It is better to say that there is no such thing as an absolutely correct choice in the world.
Just like this time, if he really acts according to Meng Yue's point of view, Hoshimiya Rokuko will have to block his emotions and memories forever and drift alone in the universe.
Sometimes, rational thinking means giving up thinking and making boring excuses just for your own convenience.
Ryougi Yumezuki would not say that her idea was wrong. However, if Gokawa Shido could still insist on saving Rokuko after knowing all the difficulties and contradictions, she would support Shido without hesitation.
"Hey, Shidou."
When they were almost home, Mengyue called out Shidao's name.
"what?"
"Nothing~"
Under Shidou's puzzled gaze, Mengyue shook her head and replied with a smirk.
"It's just yelling."
postscript
==============================
Hello everyone, I am very nervous on the chess field.
Ha~ Sorry, recently in addition to playing gal, reading comics, watching animations, and playing mobile games, I also spent a lot of time preparing my thesis, plus writing novels, so I feel a little lazy both physically and mentally.
What should I write in this postscript... I don't have the energy to complain about keywords. I will just briefly talk about my feelings about writing the Rokuko volume.
Thousands of words can be summed up in one word: tired.
How should I put it? Although it seems that many readers are looking forward to this volume of Rokuko, I actually don't have much enthusiasm for this volume, because neither the protagonist Rokuko nor the development of the story itself is on my wavelength. Of course, this is just my subjective opinion, so please don't take it too seriously if you are dissatisfied.
First of all, this volume mainly talks about Shidou’s attitude towards Rokuko.
In fact, I was looking forward to the volume about Rokuko at the beginning. After all, Rokuko is the only spirit in the whole play who questions Shidao's action philosophy. Should we capture a spirit who is not dissatisfied with his own life and will not affect others? This is actually a question that I have always been concerned about. After all, if there is no impact if we don't capture her, then in the tense situation where DEM is waiting in the dark, sealing the spirits may put them in greater danger.
Under such conditions, not sealing is actually a wise choice.
I really want to see what kind of thinking and confusion Shidao will fall into when facing this kind of problem, and I look forward to the answer he can get in the end. However, after reading the first volume of Rokuko, I was a little disappointed. Although the idea of everyone entering a fairy tale to adventure is very interesting, the answer Shidao got was very speechless.
Rokuko's views are, first, that he is not dissatisfied with his life and does not need to be sealed; second, he doubts whether his safety can be guaranteed after being sealed.
However, Shidao's answer was - I don't care what you say, but I understand that you must have a very painful past, which is why your memories are sealed and drifting in the universe, so I must save you.
Are you talking to a cow?! Shidou-ru didn't answer any of Rokuko's questions!
Because of this, the Rokuko volume became the volume in which my favorability towards Itsuka Shido declined. I don't know if it was because of preconceived notions, but when I read the next volume, Rokuko Family, I always felt an inexplicable sense of disharmony, as if the characters were covered with a layer of frosted paint and looked very blurry.
So when I saw Shidao being forgotten by his family, my first reaction was not sympathy, but that he deserved it.
Secondly, there is the protagonist of this volume, Hoshimiya Rokuko. In the first volume, I felt that he was a knowledgeable and sage, but in the next volume, he turned into a silly and sweet yandere. The contrast was so great that I was stunned when I read it. Although many people seem to like Rokuko's later obedient and docile personality, I personally prefer the previous image of a sage.
What else can I say? The past of Rokuko designed by Tachibana is... hard to describe in a few words. Maybe I am the type of person who values family very much, so I can't understand why Rokuko is willing to sever all interpersonal relationships with her family members in order to monopolize them, and in the end she even became autistic... Although I understand that it is not her fault to a large extent, I really can't feel a sense of substitution because of this life story.
And how should I put it, she actually wants to join Shidou's harem. I think Rokuko's extremely possessive personality must be changed, and it was indeed changed in the later period, but because the specific psychological process was not described, I felt speechless when I read the later part, "Ah, Rokuko, why are you schizophrenic again?"
Looking back and forth, the only possible turning point is when Shidou said "I am willing to be her family forever" during the strategy. Later, even when Shidou and the elves cut her beloved hair into a mess (see the original short story, the hair was later reattached with black technology.) Rokuko could laugh it off. Should I say he is worthy of being the protagonist? A word of mouth made Rokuko so tolerant.
Well, the last thing I want to complain about is the plot.
To clarify, although I have criticized the characters a lot before, I don't have much opinion on the plot development itself. I would rather say that after the Rokuko volume, the battle plot has started to feel a lot more compact and rich. Although it has increased the difficulty of making magical changes for me, a fan fiction author, it is actually an improvement for the author himself.
However, perhaps because there was more content to be crammed into one volume than before, I felt a sense of carelessness in many details, such as the timeline bug mentioned earlier. It was clear that Shidou discovered that he was forgotten and completed the Rokuko on the same day, but when the narrative perspective switched to Tohka's side, everyone answered in unison that a stranger (Shidou) spoke to him yesterday. After confirming with the members of the Chinese translation team, it was confirmed that it was a bug in the original work (but if you are serious, the editor should be blamed).
In other words, Origami and the reversed Tohka not only recovered their memories, but also traveled through time and space to find yesterday's Shidou (laughs).
There is also the reversal of Tohka. To be honest, I was confused when I saw it. The original book only said that after Origami left, Tohka suddenly felt a headache and crouched down to defend herself. Then the next scene -
Tohka turned the tables.
What? Why? o_O? That was my expression at the time.
What happened to the reversal condition of extreme despair? In the previous volume, DEM did so many tricks to make Nia completely reversed, but how come it was reversed directly with Tohka's head hurting twice? I understand what Tachibana wants to express, but this way of handling it is too sloppy, isn't it possible to add a little description of Tohka's psychological changes?
At that time, I really felt that it was hard to say about other spirits, but Tohka had to be with Shidou, otherwise the world would be destroyed one day if the situation was reversed so easily.
Well, let’s stop here with my complaints and grumbles about the original work. Finally, let me talk a little about my experience in rewriting the Rokuko volume.
When the Rokuko volume came out, I was still writing the game's plot. I have to say that the Rokuko volume had a great influence on my novel ideas. The Nanashi volume later described Mengyue training Shidou in the computer world, which was actually a foreshadowing for the dialogue between Shidou and Rokuko in the Rokuko volume. For this reason, I even added a chapter to the end of the originally completed Miku volume, in which Mengyue questioned Kotori and refused to help capture elves, which was also a foreshadowing for the quarrel between Shidou and Mengyue in the Rokuko arc.
However, even though I thought I had made sufficient preparations, I still encountered many bottlenecks when I was actually writing the Rokuko volume. The main reason was that the plot of the original work was very compact, and it was more difficult than I had imagined to make enough room for Mengyue. Many plots had to be deleted and rewritten several times, and there were also many plots that were perfunctorily gotten by with momentum. In a sense, I have no right to complain about Lao Ju (bitter smile).
Well, although there is still a lot I want to say, I will stop here for now. After finishing the six volumes, I can continue to prepare for my graduation thesis (and then I will graduate and find a job in society. To be honest, I am really uneasy - lie down.).
Next, it’s Kurumi’s home court - although I really want to say this, but actually Rokuko Makio still has some things I want to talk about that I haven’t finished yet, so I may write them into a short story and then move on to Rokuko Makio.
Well, that’s almost the end of the postscript. Thank you all for still supporting “This Is Not the Date I Want” after becoming a V. See you later!

<No matter how many times I reincarnate, or how many times I fail, I will save you from despair. Although I really want to say this line, I definitely don't want to experience this. ——A certain girl replied politely. >
There is an endless amount of sadness in this world.
Some people were involved in wars and died, some were born with serious illnesses and will not live long, there are people who are unable to afford clothes or food, or some who suffer from unreasonable discrimination.
In this world, there is a cold wind blowing everywhere, corroding the weak.
Having seen all of this through television, newspapers, magazines, and her own eyes, the girl was filled with resentment fueled by a sense of powerlessness.
I feel disgusted with myself for not doing anything.
I want to do something I can do.
