"There is one more thing." Professor Garrick put away his smile and warned seriously, "How should I put it? Professor Snape is a bit weird. He is very strict with his students. If you make a mistake, you will lose points. So you must be very careful when you take his class and don't offend him."

"Okay, sister. I've got that." Ethan nodded.

"But don't worry too much. Snape's teaching attitude is still very serious and rigorous. As long as you do well enough, nothing should happen." Professor Garrick added.

"Yeah, don't worry, I'm your brother and I'm a very good one." Ethan gave Professor Garrick an OK sign and stood up to say goodbye. "Then I'll be leaving first, I still have a lot of homework to do."

"Okay, take care. If you're free on the weekend, you can always come and play with me." Garrick stood up and sent Ethan out of the office, leaning against the door, reluctantly watching Ethan's leaving figure.

"Yeah, okay. I'll come when I have time." Ethan said a perfunctory three-stroke response and left the greenhouse area.

Definitely next time.jpg

"Potions class?" Ethan weighed the divaricate leaves in his pocket and walked slowly towards the library. "I'm looking forward to it."

Finally I get to meet this old tsundere.

Chapter 33 Night, Multiplayer, Outdoors

after dinner.

Ethan sat steadily on the bench, lowered his head and pretended to be writing a paper, occasionally looking up and glancing at the students who were walking out of the auditorium in twos and threes.

When most of the students had left, Ethan winked at Percy, who was sitting diagonally opposite him.

Percy received the signal and nodded, and the two of them packed up their things, stood up together, and went to the arched courtyard outside the hall.

Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, a total of 17 prefects from three houses were already waiting here.

"Oh my god," Ethan was shocked by the scene, "Why are there so many people here?"

No wonder Ethan was so surprised, there were supposed to be only five fifth-year prefects from three academies here, but now even the sixth and seventh grade prefects were gathered here.

"Well, after you left, we discussed it a bit and decided that more people would be better for this kind of thing," said Patty Rowell, another fifth-year Gryffindor prefect. "So we told the other prefects of our respective colleges about it. We originally only wanted to recruit as many as we could, but we didn't expect them to all say they agreed to join."

Ethan immediately turned around to look at Percy behind him. Percy noticed Ethan's death stare and immediately raised his head and pretended to look up at the stars, while he tried to whistle, but no sound came out.

Ethan: ? ?

Good man, it turns out that you, a guy with thick eyebrows and big eyes, have also betrayed us.

"Patti is right. We were all a little too compromising before," said Rebecca Chambers, the sixth-year head of Ravenclaw. "It wasn't until we heard your plan that we realized that we hadn't thought enough before. So please let us join."

"Yes, this is our chance to make up for our mistakes," said Carlos Oliveira, the seventh-year Hufflepuff prefect. "Besides, I've long been annoyed with those bastards of Rosier, and this is a good opportunity to disgust them."

A group of people started shouting at the same time, and the chaotic noise made Ethan's head buzz.

"Stop, stop, stop. Don't talk for now." Ethan made a gesture to keep quiet and pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling helpless.

Originally in his plan, he was going to take advantage of the time when the class leaders were on shift to show his presence in front of Neil and the others, so there was no need to make such a fuss. It would be better if he could just take turns because of a shortage of manpower.

Now, there are so many people involved. If they all have to take shifts, I don’t know when I can make my presence felt in front of Neil and the others.

It's true that plans can't keep up with the speed of change.

So you can't use your passion for other things, like studying?

Are you able to pass the OWL exams (Ordinary Wizarding Levels)? Or have you given up on the NEWT exams (Final Wizarding Tests)?

It's very annoying.

"Uh... Ethan?" Patty noticed that Ethan's expression was a little strange and asked, "What's wrong with you? I think you seem a little... angry?"

Ethan blinked quickly after being reminded by Patty, and put away his emotions, pretending not to care: "Ah, it's nothing. I'm just a little flattered to see so many people."

Well, I absolutely don’t mean to think you’re getting in the way, absolutely not (gritting my teeth)!

"I think we should leave here first," Ethan rubbed his temple. "Such a large group of people gathering together will be too conspicuous. We might attract Filch."

"Okay, let's go." Jill Valentina, a seventh-year student, greeted the prefects. She is another prefect of Hufflepuff.

A group of people walked slowly down the stairs in the courtyard in an orderly manner. Ethan stood in the middle of the crowd so that he could hear clearly what everyone said.

"Well, let me report on what happened today."

Ethan asked casually, holding onto the handrail of the stairs.

"Okay, I'll go first." Robert Hilliard, the fifth-year prefect of Ravenclaw, reported first, "After lunch this morning, Neil Rosier gathered three accomplices and tried to blackmail a Hufflepuff first-year student near the stairs of the main hall. They cornered the kid in the wall and before he could say anything, I scared him away with a glare."

"Then there's Abby Anderson," added Claudia Glock, a fifth-year prefect who is also a Ravenclaw. "She didn't do much from breakfast to class. During the break, she tried to team up with two Slytherin girls to lock Alanna Shannans in the girls' bathroom on the third floor, but I stopped them in time."

"Well done, thank you both for your hard work." Ethan praised.

"Of course, it's our duty." The two class leaders waved their hands and declined together.

"Did they do anything weird this afternoon?" Ethan asked again.

"Abby Anderson didn't make any moves," said Ashley Graham, the fifth-year Hufflepuff prefect, as she walked along. "But it was a little strange that she and a few of her good friends were secretly discussing something after class. They were also very alert. As soon as I approached them, they immediately scattered. It didn't seem like they were talking about anything good to me."

"Neil Rosier is a bit strange, too," added Gabriel Truman, another fifth-year Hufflepuff prefect. "Before dinner, he met Alanna Shannans in a corner on the third floor of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower, but they passed each other without any communication. There was no one passing by there, and there was no portrait surveillance, so nothing happened. It was really a bit abnormal."

"Is it possible that you were discovered?" Ashley teased.

"It's unlikely," Gabriel shook his head. "I was far enough away from them at the time, and I was mixed in with the students. They shouldn't have noticed me."

"Okay, I roughly understand the situation." Ethan nodded and ended the topic. "Let's proceed according to the original arrangement tomorrow. Senior class leaders, please be patient. I will arrange the new shift schedule this weekend. Starting next week, I'll leave it to you all."

"Okay." The class leaders nodded in agreement.

As they talked, they had walked from the Arch Bridge Courtyard to the Flying Lawn of Hogwarts Castle and stopped in front of the tower door of the marble staircase.

"Let's stop here. There are portraits inside, so it's not convenient to continue chatting." Ethan stood in front of the door, turned to the prefects, and said solemnly, "Although this is just my personal behavior, I am fortunate to have your active participation and support. I am really moved. Thank you all here in advance."

"Okay, stop saying those cheesy words." Carlos patted Ethan on the back. "See you tomorrow."

"Well, see you tomorrow." Ethan said goodbye to them for the last time and walked up the marble staircase with the Gryffindor prefects.

The Ravenclaw common room was not in the same direction as theirs, and the Hufflepuffs had to go down to the cellar, so everyone separated here.

On the fifth floor of the West Tower, in the Ravenclaw common room.

"That Ethan is definitely not a simple person." Rebecca leaned back on the sofa and said to the others without any image, "I can see that he will definitely make some big moves in the future."

The cellars, in front of the Hufflepuff common room.

"That Ethan..." Jill suddenly said, "I feel he is... amazing. He is only a fourth grader, but he has become the backbone of us prefects without us noticing. The conversation just now was completely controlled by him, although this action was centered around him."

"Don't worry about that. I can sense that Ethan doesn't have any malicious intentions like Neil Rosier." Carlos shrugged and said indifferently, "And isn't this a good thing? It means that we have successors at Hogwarts."

"That's right." Jill shrugged, tapped the wine barrel next to her with her wand a few times, and opened the door to the Hufflepuff common room.

Chapter 34 Percy: What's going on? Is this the only atmosphere that I'm not good enough?

Ethan and his group climbed the marble stairs and walked along the corridor towards the Gryffindor Tower.

"So, what's your real plan?" Chris Scarland, who was walking in front, suddenly turned around and asked Ethan. He was the seventh grade class leader.

"What plan?" Ethan blinked. "What are you talking about?"

"Don't play dumb. Your words can only fool Percy." Chris's sister Claire, the sixth grade prefect, laughed disdainfully. "Chris's problem is also the problem of other prefects. You arranged for us to follow Rozier and Anderson, but what are you going to do yourself?"

Percy on the side:? ?

Are you polite?

"Oh, I've been seen through." Ethan scratched his head, feeling embarrassed. "I do have other plans, but it's not convenient for me to tell you right now."

"Inconvenient?" Chris raised his eyebrows. "Being open and honest is the easiest way to win other people's trust."

"I know that, but it's hard to say it out loud." Ethan spread his hands. "After all, if you don't know, you don't have to take responsibility. You are the class leaders."

The six prefects stopped walking upon hearing this and stood there staring at Ethan.

"What's wrong? If you doubt me, it's not too late to quit now." Ethan said with a smile without changing his expression or heartbeat in the face of everyone's gaze, "Or do you plan to stop me, such as reporting this to the professors?"

"No, this is ultimately to stop Rozier and his group from bullying other students. We will still join in." Chris shook his head. "What we mean is that you must be careful. Rozier and his group are not easy to deal with."

"As for what you just said, we didn't hear anything." Claire stepped forward and patted Ethan's shoulder. "We will help you explain it to the other prefects."

"Oh no, are you so easily convinced by me?" Ethan was confused by this sudden change. "You are the class leaders, how can you believe that I am a real man so easily?"

Chris laughed softly. "Oh, you have to know that some wizards have innate special talents. Rebecca has the special ability to predict the future, and Carlos can sense the malice in people's hearts..."

"...and my sister Claire can tell if someone is lying," Chris pointed at Claire and continued, "We were actually communicating with each other through eye contact while walking with you just now - I've seen through you, kid."

"Wow," Ethan was shocked, "it turns out that each of you has special skills."

Wait, it seems my cheat is better than theirs, then it’s okay.

"So, although we don't know what evil you are up to," Claire chuckled with a relaxed look on her face, "we all think you are trustworthy."

"It would be better if you could reveal the specific plan," Patty joked.

"Well, since you guys said that, I have nothing to hide." Ethan shrugged. "My plan is to attract Neil and the others' firepower, and then when they can't hold back and want to pick a fight with me, I'll turn the tables on them."

"Oh, I see. Instead of dredging, it's blocking the way, right?" Chris nodded. "Then I wish you success soon."

"Wait, something's wrong." Ethan noticed something was wrong, "You guys just accepted it like that? Don't you care about my strength or something?"

"There's nothing much to say about this," Patty said with a sour smile, "After all, he was praised repeatedly as a role model by Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall in class."

"Ah this..." Ethan's face turned red and he waved his hand. "Don't praise me, I'll be proud."

I never thought that one day I would really become someone else's child.

It's so cool.

"Well, now that we know everything we need to know," Chris stretched and turned around and said, "Go back and rest. It's getting late."

Everyone followed Chris's steps and walked towards the Gryffindor Tower together.

Suddenly, Chris, who was walking in front, stopped at the corner of the corridor. The people behind him had no time to react and they all squeezed together.

"What's wrong, Chris?" Ethan almost bumped into Percy's back and quickly took a half step back.

"We have guests." Chris looked strange and nodded towards the corner of the corridor.

Ethan looked past Chris to the end of the corridor, and saw a black-haired girl wearing glasses standing in front of the portrait of the Fat Lady on the wall, holding a black book in her arms.

It's Alanna Shanans.

She stood quietly in front of the picture frame, looking around the corner of the corridor with a little anxiety, as if she was waiting for someone.

"Let's go over and have a look."

Ethan took the lead, turned the corner, and walked towards Alanna.

Alanna saw a group of people coming towards her, and squinted her eyes to try to identify the people. When she saw Ethan in front of the crowd, her squinted eyes suddenly opened, flashing with joy.

"Ms. Shanans," Ethan stopped in front of Alanna, "Are you waiting for someone?"

Alanna nodded and whispered, "I'm waiting for you."

"wait for me?"

"Well, didn't you say that?" Alanna looked up at Ethan and blinked, "If I need anything, I can always come to Gryffindor Tower to find you."

The eyes of the group of seniors behind Ethan suddenly became sharp.

"That's what happened," Ethan said, trying to smile despite the piercing gaze from behind him, "So what do you want to talk to me about?"

Alanna looked at the group of prefects who were eating melons behind Ethan and took two steps towards the window.

"Hey, Ethan, we're really tired so we'll go in first." Chris quickly tried to smooth things over and said to the Fat Lady, "Pig nose."

The portrait of the Fat Lady opened to the side and a group of people went in one by one.

"Alright, alright, stop looking. Go away." Chris pushed Claire and Patty, who were trying to stay and watch, into the passage. He gave Ethan an "I understand you" look and knocked on the frame of the portrait. "You too."

The Fat Lady sighed and left her frame to go somewhere unknown.

"The door is left open for you, remember to come back early." Half of Chris' body appeared from behind the half-open picture frame. He gave Ethan a thumbs up, then shrank back.

"Uh..." Ethan, who had been arranged clearly, was speechless and sighed.

"Ethan, are you okay?" Alana's voice came to his ears.

Ethan cheered himself up and smiled at Alanna, "No, nothing. What do you want from me, Miss Shanans?"

"Well, I thought about it for a long time, and I think I should come to you. And..." Alana fumbled out a bag from his robe and handed it to Ethan, "This is for you."

"For me? Is it a gift?" Ethan took the bag with a smile and asked, "Can I open it and take a look?"

Alanna nodded slightly.

Ethan opened the bag with great anticipation, looked inside, and his smile froze on his face.
