359 Hunting Season (Part )

"By the way, how many beaked beasts are we going to face? Is there any idea?" Rukatiye stretched, and his slightly stiff joints made a crackling sound.

"Probably only a dozen or so at most." Sur retrieved past reconnaissance records. While this area was home to the beaked beast, such a massive carnivore would undoubtedly require a vast hunting area.

A dozen or so? Some aren't enough to chop. Rukatiye sighed inwardly.

***

After crossing the long swamp and driving for a day and a night, the vehicle finally stopped near the crater at dawn.

The terrain nearby is a bit rough and not suitable for off-road vehicles. If you force your way through, you will definitely overturn.

AK15 simply parked the off-road vehicle on the hillside, deployed the automatic cannon, covered it with a tarp, and then ran to the edge of the crater with her drone and teammates. She slid down the hillside and explored deeper.

She brought her own assault rifle and spare batteries just in case, while Rukatiye and Sur each carried only a backpack and their weapons and followed.

The crater was covered with a layer of fog in the early morning, and clouds were gathering in the sky, as if a heavy rain was about to come.

Although the humanoids also want to act on sunny days, the weather in this world is very strange. Those who are drought-stricken will die of drought, and those who are flooded will die of flooding. It will take a few days for the weather to clear up in places where it rains.

Two humanoids and an undead man walked forward on the barren and wet land. AK15 observed the weather and released the drone.

The small drone climbed rapidly upwards. The morning fog prevented the camera from taking pictures of the surrounding area, but the drone's wide-area scanning technology was able to establish nearby terrain data.

Although the accuracy is slightly off, the dolls are looking for places like abandoned laboratories, so a slight lack of accuracy is not a problem.

AK15 and Sur continuously updated the area's environmental data via their cameras. The drone's scanning progress was quite rapid, and the figures followed it deeper into the area.

"The crater reminds me of the Great Mountain Range. That one was also a large circular crater. But this place is much more desolate than that one, and doesn't look as dangerous."

Sur, who once worked as a security guard in the mountains of the Fallout world, felt a little emotional as he looked at the constantly updated map information.

Sur walked in the fog wearing a large cloak, and the refreshing mist floated on her face, but soon the refreshing feeling was replaced by a feeling of discomfort.

She felt a slight discomfort on her face. Sur reached out and tested the composition of the mist.

Chemical agents with unknown ingredients are dissolved in the mist. It is unknown how harmful these agents are to the human body, but for humanoids, these agents will slowly corrode the delicate units on their bodies.

New dark clouds were gathering overhead, and a heavy rain was about to arrive. Spots of rain began to fall, and when they landed on Soul's palms, he felt a slight pain.

"Hiss, why is the rain here also acid rain? Doesn't the intelligence explain this?" Sur quickly tightened his gloves and cuffs to prevent the rain from wetting his body.

Although it is impossible to avoid being completely corroded by corrosive agents, it is still possible to operate in heavy rain for several days.

"Ah?" Rukatiye opened her cloak, and the acid rain dripped onto her face. "Is there something wrong with this rain?"

"What are you doing? Your skin will burn! Don't you have a fully enclosed protective suit?" Sul shouted.

"How can I fight wearing that kind of clothes? This rain doesn't seem to have any effect on me." Rukatiye stretched out his hand to catch the dripping rain.

She looked at Sur with a puzzled expression. The acid rain that could corrode human skin hit her face without leaving even a trace of red mark.

She had even run through the Molten Iron City soaked in magma and the Black Mist Tower for smelting metal. This level of acid rain could not harm her.

"This is outrageous. Why are humans more resistant to acid damage than humanoids? Is this the undead? Okay, call me if you have any problems. AK15? How's the drone?" Sur turned his head to look at AK15.

"The drone is still functioning normally, but a small drone like this can't function properly in heavy rain. I have to recover it in a few minutes. Also, the previous reconnaissance report didn't indicate that this place is experiencing acid rain."

AK15 was also covered with a cloak. She held the drone and pointed at it. This single-person portable drone would be doomed if it encountered heavy rain and strong winds.

"Maybe there was a new leak in a nearby laboratory. Have you found a nearby laboratory?" Sur asked.

The acid rain will quickly turn from drizzle to moderate rain or even heavy rain. Before long, even the vision will be affected.

The drone sounded an alarm, and AK15 could only remotely control the drone to land in his hands.

"I'm not an expert in environmental detection, and I don't carry the corresponding equipment. Let's rely on the drone's wide-area environmental scanning. Sur, you are the leader of this team, and you decide whether to continue moving forward." AK15 calmly carried the drone behind him.

"Well... we should keep moving forward. We can't just give up when we encounter some acid rain. Go forward! Do you want to call for support?" Sur waved his hand.

"It's not needed now." AK15 took out an extra rainproof cloth from his backpack and simply put it on his assault rifle to prevent the acid rain from corroding the weapon.

The rain was getting heavier, and the acidified soil could not retain the rainwater, which soon gathered into a stream of acidic mud. The heavy rain mixed with thick acid mist tortured the three lonely figures.

AK15 and Sur activated their sensory systems and moved forward cautiously, while Rukatiye advanced with big strides. The rain had little effect on her.

Her body is not afraid of acid rain at all. The Saturn power suit she wears is durable enough to withstand being soaked in acid rain for several years without any problem.

Her undead-specific perception of souls was not affected, and Rukatiye's biological radar would not be disturbed.

There are indeed no living things in this vast crater. There may be some small insects or other creatures, but at most she can sense the soul of a hound. If it is smaller, her sensitivity is not enough.

Then Rukatiye stopped suddenly and drew out his two great swords: "Stop! Stop first!"

"Huh? Rukatiye, what are you doing?" As soon as AK15 held the gun in his hand, he saw Rukatiye staring at a certain direction in the air.

"There are souls, quite a lot of souls." Rukatiye stared at the front. "I can feel a large number of souls rushing towards me! Forty... fifty... and the number is still rising! It's those beak-mouthed beasts!"

"Want to fight? In this kind of weather, in this kind of environment? I'll accompany you." AK15 wrapped the assault rifle's waterproof cloth and pulled out a slender Saturn kukri from his back.

"Shouldn't we fight and retreat at this time, and find an off-road vehicle to move the heavy machine gun?!" Although Sur said this, he still pulled out two electric swords.

"No, in this weather our thrusters may not be as fast as those beaked beasts. So we should stay and kill them all." AK15 explained.

"You just want to take action!" Suer shouted.

"Are you used to being ordered around by the commander? You don't know what to do without orders?" AK15 was puzzled.

"Then I'd better risk my life for you. If anything unexpected happens, I can still carry you away. Are you really not going to retreat? We can go back and read the bar after destroying our core. Rukatiye, you... go back to the bonfire and be reborn?" Sur was not sure whether Rukatiye could be resurrected in the other world.

"I don't know, but I want the soul. If you don't fight because you are afraid of death, what's the difference between you and a coward? Let me make it clear first, I have thrown away my shield and can't protect you. It's up to you to fight later!" Rukatiye lowered his waist and stared calmly at the rain and fog in front of him.

"I know! AK15, is the drone still operating?" Sur asked finally.

"Operating normally. We'll send you information when the creatures approach." AK15 had barely finished speaking when the drone's wide-area detection system transmitted the latest data. Dozens of high-speed units were rushing towards them.

360 Hunting Season (Part )

Beaked beasts, a total of eighty beaked beasts rushed here accurately from the rain curtain, one-third of them were four or five meters high, and the rest ranged from seven or eight meters to more than ten meters. There were even giant beaked beasts that had grown to more than twenty meters mixed in.

The beaked beasts used their sturdy limbs to flatten the muddy ground and rushed forward at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour.

"Ohhhh!! This is too much! No, why do they seem to know our location? This is too weird!" Sul clenched the electric sword. She adjusted the voltage to the highest, hoping to knock down a beaked beast at once.

Rukatiye said firmly, "It's souls. They can sense the breath of life, the breath of souls. They are coming for me."

"Put away your messed up arguments! They're coming!" Sul was the only humanoid at the scene who was a little panicked, and she stared with wide eyes.

***

At first, Rukatiye thought it was just an ordinary mission. After all, Surdu had casually invited him, and even AK15 had only joined in passing.

No matter how you look at it, it shouldn't be that difficult; at best, it's only slightly better than an outing. At least that's what Rukatiye thinks.

But now, she doesn't think so.

Dozens of tall creatures broke through the rain curtain. These creatures had extremely thick limbs and iron-gray bodies, and their necks were like straight chimneys in the dim rain.

The heads of these beaked beasts are very small compared to their bodies, and the front of their heads are tough and extremely sharp beaks.

Unlike their slightly bulky appearance, beaked beasts run very fast. Their tall bodies and strong limbs allow them to take very large strides.

These terrifying four-limbed creatures quickly rushed past the team of three, but soon these beaked beasts began to fall to the ground one after another.

Lukati swung his greatsword to cut their running forelimbs horizontally, and then, as the beaked beast fell, he picked up the blade of another sword and cut its neck directly.

These flesh and blood creatures were completely unable to block the blade of the god-killing weapon, but as soon as Rukatiye killed one, he was knocked away by other beaked beasts that continued to rush over.

She adjusted her posture in the air and landed steadily in the puddle, splashing water. The beaked beasts raised their necks back as they ran, and then suddenly slammed down.

Boom! Rukatiye dodged to the side, and the beak's sharp mouth smashed the rock below. Rukatiye accepted the offer of a head, casually swinging her sword and severing its head.

Is this the legendary weapon capable of killing gods? It's certainly sharp! Feeling the souls of these creatures pouring into their bodies, Rukatiye leaped directly into the charging herd of beaked beasts. Her greatsword quickly chopped off limb after limb, forcing the beasts to fall to the ground.

The beaked beasts tried to raise their broken limbs to crush the human. But Rukatiye's twin swords churned everything around them into a blood-red mist. Severed tendons, bones, entrails, and broken necks flew through the air.

The corpses almost buried Rukatiye, but soon two sword tips emerged from the corpses, and then these complete corpses were cut into several pieces by Rukatiye in one bite.

Rukatiye was covered in smelly animal blood, which was then washed away by the heavy rain. She did not rely on her vision, but on her perception of the soul to move and fight.

These beaked beasts were too tall, and Rukatiye could only observe the scene directly in front of her, but the heavy rain greatly weakened her observation ability.

Her ears were also filled with the roar of the rain, and she could not tell where the heavy footsteps in the rain came from.

Only her perception of living souls was not affected much. These beaked beasts had enough souls waiting for her to harvest.

Although the surrounding humanoids were also implicated, these beaked beasts were obviously not very interested in AK15 and Sur. Only when they were attacked would they turn around angrily and trample on and use their beaks to attack the two.

The two humanoids were immediately separated by the charge of the Beakbeast. They did not choose to take it head-on, but tried to avoid damage as much as possible and wait for an opportunity to fight.

AK15 dodged the charge of the beaked beast, grabbed its limbs and climbed onto its back.

The Saturn scimitar split the raindrops and pierced the beaked beast's neck, stirring it vigorously. The beaked beast let out a wail and fell to the ground, unable to move.

She simply jumped off the corpse's back, climbed onto the next victim, and repeated the same action.

The humanoid's jumping ability and arm strength allow her to easily hang on to these tall animals and then kill them at the fastest speed.

Sur, on the other hand, was in a much more awkward position. Her physique wasn't as strong as AK15's, nor was she nearly as powerful as Rukatiye. She could only manage to swing her electric fencing sword, trying to bring down the beaked beasts.

But this creature could not be knocked down by electric shock. Sur took advantage of the chaos to cut open the heel of the beaked beast and released high-voltage current as the sword blade pierced into it.

But this only made the creature slow to a halt, and after a while it slowly started running again. It can only be said that the creatures in this world do not really follow physics and biology.

[Are you kidding me?! This is high voltage electricity! Any living thing would be knocked down by it! How did your muscles grow?!] Sur pounced in another direction again. The muddy ground greatly affected her mobility.

These beaked beasts are tall and have long legs, so the muddy spots have no effect on them at all. When Sur was running on the ground, he would often step half a leg into a pit.

Sur was unable to dodge and was knocked away by a charging beak-billed beast. Fortunately, their bodies were strong enough that even if they were knocked away by the beak-billed beast head-on, they only rolled on the ground a few times.

Putting aside other things, this power suit and bodysuit did significantly increase their ability to withstand blows. If a civilian T-doll were hit by this, it would fall apart immediately.

The two humanoids did manage to contain some of the beaked beasts' attacks. Although they could only use scimitars and electric swords to contain a dozen beaked beasts, it was enough to reduce Rukatiye's combat pressure.

The beaked beast, which was more than 20 meters tall, took advantage of Rukatiye's rush out from the pile of corpses and smashed down.

But Rukatiye only gathered her strength and raised her two great swords. She didn't want to dodge, nor did she intend to dodge.

Boom!

The beak and blade gave way the moment they made contact. The sharp blade sliced through the thick, age-old cuticle and the sharp beak, but Rukatiye steadily caught the blow, accelerated by momentum. Her arms held tightly, her posture not collapsing.

She twisted her arms, and the sword immediately turned into a sharp metal vortex, crushing the head of the largest beaked beast.

Blood gushed from the beaked beast's broken neck. Amidst the torrential rain and warm blood, Rukatiye raised his two still-sharp swords and burst into hearty laughter.

"Hahahaha! That's all! What dangerous beaked beasts! They're just a bunch of ugly animals!"

"Oh, I fought so hard. I don't have the ability to jump onto the back of this animal with just one hand." Sur moved his shoulders and jumped off the corpse of a beaked beast.

She still honestly used the leg-breaking and head-hitting style. The other two people's styles were too wild and the other too technical.

"It was a good fight, and I gained something. It's a pity that I can't learn that kind of fighting method." AK15 pulled out the machete and let the acid rain wash away the blood.

"You still want to learn from her? You definitely don't know what her original Miller swordsmanship was like. It was a very methodical swordsmanship based on formations and steady attacks."

Sur put away the electric sword and tugged at her cloak. She had fallen several times in the mud just now, and there was a lot of mud on her body, cloak and face.
