When they cast their psychic powers, the Jaeger snipers from above would blow their heads off. They didn't even need to specifically call out their names, just call for fire support and they would just shoot at them.

These psychic creatures, called Grays, have very fragile bodies, and the impact of missile and rocket explosions is often enough to shatter their weak bodies.

[Commander, a load-bearing column has been detected ahead. It's severely damaged.] A001 asked Sun Yang, constantly micromanaging and directing the Iron-Blooded Puppet.

Description

I accidentally posted tomorrow's post. So there won't be an update tomorrow. That's it.

One hundred words ahh ...

460 Another fierce battle!

"Then go ahead and blow it up." Sun Yang released a bunch of engineering drones, then walked behind the Iron Guard, who had emptied his ammunition, carrying a huge mortar tube. He hadn't forgotten why he was here. He could blow up the mothership and recycle these alien alloys at the same time. Wouldn't that be great?

These mortars were specially designed to fire small fusion nuclear warheads. Originally, the Iron Blood puppets would have taken a few with them, but Sun Yang, considering that a hit could trigger a deadly chain reaction, held back.

But now that he was here, he naturally took it out and put it on the Iron Guard's back, letting it fire the fusion nuclear bomb onto the load-bearing column and directly carry out a blast.

[Commander, be careful!] A001 shouted as Sun Yang mounted the mortar and fired back continuously with the plasma rifle in his hand.

A ball of purple light flashed, and the warlock teleported from behind Sun Yang. It had been gathering strength, waiting for the opportunity to strike. The bright green plasma jet left scars on the warlock's psionic shield, but it was not enough to restrict the warlock's movements.

It picked up Sun Yang from behind, and its spiritual energy spread. It looked like it was going to cast a teleportation spell to transfer Sun Yang to another place.

But before the warlock could finish his psychic spell, golden lightning surrounded Sun Yang and the warlock who was holding him tightly. The catalyst witch Black Branch in Sun Yang's hand released astonishing lightning power.

Sun Yang deliberately spread the energy of the Sunlight Spear, and the wanton power of thunder and lightning immediately knocked Sun Yang and the warlock who attacked him to the ground.

"Gah!!!" The sorcerer was electrocuted and dropped his hands, twitching on the ground. Sun Yang then lay on its belly. It pressed the sharp end of the witch's black branch against the sorcerer's body and silently chanted a spell.

Dark Art: Intense Soul Resonance. This spell activates part of Sun Yang's soul into a massively energetic soul bomb, which explodes in the sorcerer's waist and abdomen.

The dark life energy gouged out a large piece of flesh from the warlock's abdomen. Unable to endure the pain, the warlock resisted the discomfort from the electric shock and forcibly triggered a psychic explosion, shaking Sun Yang and the surrounding German Iron Blood puppets away.

Although the warlock's body can be said to be strong...it is not the type that has been specially trained. At most, it relies on psychic energy to strengthen its body.

The power contained in Sun Yang's Sunlight Spear was truly powerful. Under such close contact, the effect of the warlock's psychic energy on the body was not obvious.

However, despite this, the abundant psychic energy inside and outside its body still saved its life.

The dark art of strong soul resonance is to activate the soul of the person being touched, making it part of the soul bomb. However, the warlock's powerful psychic power prevented the dark art from taking effect and also weakened the damage.

Otherwise, Sun Yang's strong soul resonance would directly kill the warlock and blow up the bridge, causing everyone to fall down one level.

The surrounding Iron Blood puppets immediately fired at the fallen warlock, but the psychic shield surrounding the warlock still blocked their attacks. After being knocked away, Sun Yang spun in the air and cast another soul magic spell.

The front end of the witch's black branch flashed with blue light, and the crystal soul spear, which was strong enough to penetrate the alien armor plate, was fired at the warlock.

This soul spear penetrated the warlock's psychic shield. The warlock tried his best to dodge, but the flying blue spear still pierced his right arm.

Although it was strange, Dark Souls spells, because they were related to the soul, had a slight ability to track individuals with souls. Even if the warlock tried to dodge, he would be hit by the soul spear with the ability to correct the flight direction.

The warlock's abdominal armor had been shattered by the soul bomb, and the wound revealed tattered organs and flowing yellow blood. His right arm hung limply beside him, his palm twitching from time to time, and the blood gushing from the wound continued to flow downwards.

It once again forcibly activated its teleportation ability, but seemingly due to its severe injuries, its short-distance teleportation failed. It only teleported twenty meters and collapsed to its knees in the corridor not far above, gasping for breath. The blood flowing from its abdomen quickly left a small puddle on the metal floor.

The warlock immediately used his psychic powers to seal his wounds, preventing himself from losing too much blood and going into shock. However, this was at least an emergency measure, and he needed to receive adequate medical treatment and rest before he could recover.

The surrounding Iron Blood Golems and support units sent a large number of missiles and rockets to the Warlock, and the bridge was quickly blown to pieces. The Warlock used his last breath to teleport to the cliff five meters away. He lay on the ground and gasped.

There was still a chance that the warlock could survive, as each chosen one had an emergency teleportation device. By pressing the device, it could return to its chosen one's fortress for rapid treatment.

In just half an hour, it would be back to peak condition and teleport again to attack Sun Yang... However, the warlock didn't think the ship could last another half an hour. The elders' heavy firepower couldn't be mobilized for a while, and Sun Yang could replenish his firepower indefinitely.

Those troops can't stop Sun Yang, only I can. The warlock knows this, so he keeps showing off, using his life to buy time. He wants to hold out until the elders' heavy equipment arrives to turn the tide of battle, until those powerful creatures return...

Retreating here to recuperate would be the same as death. There simply wasn't enough time. If the Elder's flagship was completely destroyed, what was the point of him still being alive? It would be better to fight to the death, perhaps there was still a chance.

A new round of firepower arrived. The warlock gritted his teeth, using his remaining spiritual energy to endure this round of firepower. Just as he was about to run away, he saw the iron-blooded puppets grab Sun Yang and throw him to the cliff in the corridor where he was.

"I've been wondering when you'd suddenly appear and attack me. As I expected, you're definitely considering teleporting me away—either to outer space or Earth. As long as it succeeds, this spaceship can be saved. After all, my forces are limited."

"You know this, and as the instigator, I naturally know it too. I've been waiting, carefully practicing my magic, waiting for someone with a destiny to come and catch me. So, are you satisfied with this trap disguised as prey?"

Sun Yang raised the Witch Black Branch in the air and quickly fired several more Soul Lance rounds, but the Warlock dodged behind cover. He repeated his old trick, taking out the Fat Man Nuclear Bomb and hurling it towards the Warlock.

However, the warlock was clearly experienced in combat, and the Fatty's nuclear bomb had barely gotten far when it was controlled by the warlock's psychic power. The Fatty's nuclear bomb was thrown back at high speed, aiming directly at Sun Yang.

"Great Magical Protection! Farewell!" Sun Yang quickly chanted two spells, opened a bottle of life potion with his left hand and poured it into his mouth, and took out a steel plate with his right hand to block himself. He had just completed the operation when the rebounding Fat Man nuclear bomb hit the steel plate.

The Fat Man bomb exploded.

The surrounding corridors trembled from the Fat Man's explosion. The Iron Blood support troops on the ground were also hit by the EMP because they were close to the blast radius, and immediately underwent a protective reboot.

Sun Yang, facing the small nuclear explosion head-on, relied on the miracles of great magic protection and farewell to endure the explosion. His clothes and the steel plates in his hands melted, his arms disappeared, and his front was burned to charcoal.

But the life potion delivered by the strange farmer was indeed magical enough. Even in this situation, it could still continuously deliver vigorous vitality. Sun Yang's body visibly recovered, and his hands also grew back.

"Ha! Finally you've found a way to fight back? Can you keep fighting? While you're lying down to rest, my troops are still dismantling the ship! Hurry back to the fortress and wait for me to chop off your head!"

Sun Yang waved his hand in the air, and a transport drone appeared, hooking him to it and carrying him back to the battlefield. He took some mana-restoring herbs and then used the witch's black branch to repair his clothes. In just a few seconds, he was back to full health.

The humanoids below, after restarting, immediately attached a mortar to the back of one of the Iron Guards. The nuclear fusion warhead flew across the chaotic battlefield, striking directly at the distant support column. With a roar and trembling, the column creaked ominously.

461 Kill the Chosen Warlock!

This load-bearing column made of tough alloy was melted by the high temperature brought by the fusion reaction, and the subsequent shock wave directly tore the middle part of the column apart.

The bridges and corridors connecting the pillars were blown apart one by one by the Iron-Blooded Golems. The aliens standing on the supporting pillars and connecting bridges screamed in agony, and the destroyers and flightless mechanical units fell to the ground.

The massive load-bearing column fell, carrying dozens of broken bridges and the alien troops atop them. Shattered metal fragments crushed countless alien soldiers in the battle. Mutants and snake-men were crushed to the ground by the equally large bridge fragments, sending a radiating spray of blood.

The pillar scraped against and destroyed countless other bridges along the way. This load-bearing pillar plummeted a full two hundred meters before collapsing on the ground. While some of the troops atop it were still able to hold on, others were thrown off the bridge and smashed onto the spacecraft, turning them into a pile of pulp.

The psychic gates set up in various places also could not escape the disaster. The alien soldiers who had just walked out were holding the bridge. Most of the psychic gates fell to the bottom and shattered into countless metal wastes because the bridge tilted. A small part of them could barely maintain operation.

This alien spacecraft is not truly resistant to destruction, but its structure can withstand multiple damages.

However, these thick metal pillars are what stabilize the structure of the alien spacecraft. If too many of these pillars are destroyed, then the alien spacecraft floating in space will really disintegrate.

The Iron Blood Puppet transmitted a series of signs of mission success and continued to reset the route to attack forward.

"Ah...ah..." The warlock was in so much pain that he could barely speak. The fatigue from overusing his psychic energy in such a short period of time made it even harder for him to muster any strength.

It must remain conscious enough to control its psychic powers, otherwise the warlock will risk dying from excessive blood loss.

The warlock was already seriously injured at this point. It was impossible for it to quickly repair its torn abdomen and arms on the battlefield.

The creatures in the world of XCOM are different from the thick-skinned creatures in fantasy worlds. Strong psychic powers don't necessarily mean strong bodies. At least the body's recovery doesn't happen in seconds.

Guys like the undead who can easily grow a body, are smelly, hard, tenacious, have great strength and can cast strange spells should not appear in this world.

"Recite your last words quickly~" Sun Yang asked the drone to send him to another platform. He withstood several shots from the aliens' plasma weapons, turned around, took out a grenade launcher and fired at the opposite side, shutting down the alien team.

"No... I won't... It's you... who lost..." the warlock muttered. As soon as it finished speaking, several shimmering golden units appeared around it. These units all had glittering eyes and moved in an erratic manner.

Sun Yang recognized them instantly. They were "Originals," psionic mechanical units created by aliens to protect their secrets from discovery.

"Hey, hey, hey! It's a big taboo to let new enemies in at the moment of a decisive battle of fate! Who do you think you are? A hot-blooded comic protagonist who is rescued in a critical moment?!" Sun Yang looked at the more and more original texts appearing around him, and couldn't help but curse wildly.

The original text refers to a mechanical psychic unit created by the elders. Although the specific principles of this device are unknown, its characteristics are its powerful firepower, high mobility, and most importantly, the ability to open small-scale psychic rifts. It is well known that Sun Yang's troops will be defeated if they are affected by psychic devices.

"Elder... the transfer has been smooth... the defense system has been successfully activated." The warlock smiled, a rare moment. He had already won by stalling for time. These psionic mechanical troops would be continuously teleported in, while Sun Yang's troops would be torn apart by the psionic rift fields unleashed by the original texts. Victory was assured.

"Really? All units should shut down the self-inspection mechanism and execute the self-destruction order." Sun Yang immediately gave the order.

When the Iron Blood Golems and support units are unable to continue fighting, overloading the weapon modules and power modules becomes an extremely effective tactic. Self-destruction is a tactic that humanoids have used since ancient times.

[Command received.] A001 instantly located the original units that were being teleported in by twos and threes. After calculating the distance, the Iron Blood puppets near the periphery activated their overload self-destruct sequence before the originals could exert their psychic influence.

The puppets around that did not follow the orders put down their weapons on their own initiative. They worked together to pick up the self-destructive puppet near the outer edge and threw it hard in a certain direction.

Under the powerful throwing of the puppets and the effect of their own propulsion system, these puppets with overloaded cores first flew out a distance of dozens of meters, and then fell in an arc into the depths of the spacecraft.

Boom! A violent tremor erupted from deep within the spaceship, shaking even the railings.

Those overloaded weapons and cores unleash their full power in precise overload self-destruct mode.

The entire ship began to vibrate even more violently than before. The puppets that fell into the deep of the spacecraft and self-destructed destroyed various facilities under the spacecraft.

Those that got too close were ripped apart by chaotic EMPs and continuous artillery fire. If they got even close, an Iron-Blooded Golem would automatically overload, and surrounding teammates would unceremoniously throw it like a one-shot bomb to attack the original. Of course, the data after the event would still be preserved.

These originals couldn't even get close enough to the golems to unleash their psychic powers; if they got too far away, they'd be bombarded by a variety of precise artillery fire. The heavy laser launchers mounted on the sides of some Iron Guards were effective against these armor-less, relatively mobile originals. A simple brain shot aimed at an original's head would be enough to kill it.

Getting too close would result in a self-destruction, and teleporting to their faces wouldn't work either. The Iron-Blooded Golems were incredibly powerful at close range, their fire control systems far superior to those of the Originals. Often, Originals were killed by concentrated plasma fire the moment they teleported to their target.

"Is this the trump card you rely on? Oh, by the way, let me tell you a good news. I still have a lot of nuclear fusion warheads that I haven't used. I don't mind using a few more." Sun Yang landed on the ground, rubbed his hands, and took out the catalyst.

"You will ruin the future of this world..." The warlock could only stammer and vomit a little blood.

It was still trying to struggle to death. The warlock stretched out his fingers with difficulty, and the condensed psychic energy ray hit Sun Yang's head, but it only barely made his head bleed.

Sun Yang shrugged and pinched a dripping stone, and the bleeding wound healed quickly.

Fighting the undead is like this. The undead can take two shots and not take it seriously, but for normal creatures, taking two shots will put them on the verge of death.

"I will save the future of this world." As Sun Yang spoke, the tip of the black branch flashed with lightning.

A burst of lightning burst out in Sun Yang's hand. This time he did not let the energy run wild, but compressed it as much as possible.

Soon, the one-meter-long but incandescent lightning spear was condensed. Sun Yang had no intention of continuing to talk nonsense. He threw the lightning spear out, hoping to shatter its last remaining psychic shield and kill it in one fell swoop.

Seven or eight original masters immediately rushed in front of the warlock and simultaneously opened psychic rifts to attack Sun Yang. However, this attack was not very effective for Sun Yang.

It's not like he stacked so many buffs for nothing. And these original books... can't provide any decent defense for the warlock.

"Die!" The highly concentrated lightning spear penetrated and tore apart all the original texts, and ruthlessly blew up the warlock's psychic shield and his chest.

Until the very end, the warlock never used the escape device. He vowed to defend the elders' warship to the death, and to obey the elders' final orders - to protect the warship and deal with Sun Yang.

"Finally... I finally heard their voices clearly. They were so close to me... They were everywhere... They came to find me..."

The warlock trembled and fell to his knees. The last trace of spiritual energy in his body dissipated into the air. Before dying, his eyes were still filled with reluctance.

As you can see, this is the last update for July. August is about to start, and I don't know when I'll be able to update again. Maybe three or four days, maybe a week. I hope I won't be overwhelmed by my busy life.

That's it then, see you in August. Hopefully, I'll be back soon.

But I still hope to finish writing this volume before the public beta of Girls' Frontline 2. It shouldn't be a problem.

462 Cleaning Up the Mess (Part )

Sun Yang didn't stop there. He swiftly launched another Sunlight Spear, completely shattering the Warlock's collapsed body. With a faint whimper, the Chosen Warlock completely vanished from this world.

The huge soul poured into Sun Yang's body, and Sun Yang finally nodded with a smile. It turned out that people would cheat when they were dying. This guy was definitely planning to teleport and read the message when he turned around.

Unfortunately, Sun Yang only had one way to check if a creature was dead—that was to see if its soul had exploded. If it hadn't, he would completely destroy the body, eliminating any traces of it, thus eliminating his worries.

Following the death of the Chosen Warlock, the aliens seemed to gradually abandon the spaceship. The originals fought for a while before their mechanical brains were shattered, and no new originals entered the battle.

Instead of swarming in and risking their lives to delay Sun Yang, the alien troops tried to execute some crude tactics to make the casualty ratio look better. Unfortunately, this didn't work very well, as the elders were clearly not good at commanding.

Commander, our drones have detected a local laboratory. However, we can't find much recyclable material inside.

A001 transmitted the drone's footage to Sun Yang. Sun Yang took a look. The footage showed a typical alien laboratory, with rows of biochemical tanks and petri dishes.

However, the petri dishes were left with only biological debris dissolved by the strong acid, and it seemed impossible to recover anything. The lab's unusually shaped computers had also been submerged in the acid vat, and drones were rapidly retrieving them to see if the data inside could be salvaged.

The warlock was right. It had bought enough time for the elder to order his men to quickly pack up all the precise data and take them away.

With the help of some drones, Sun Yang did find several deserted experimental facilities.

However, they left in such a hurry that they didn't have time to completely destroy the experimental products or delete the data records. At most, they transferred their scientific research results to other places through the psychic gate.

The computers salvaged from the acid vats were completely unreadable. Restoring the data inside would be incredibly difficult for an average person, but for Sun Yang, it was just a matter of casting a repair spell. It was quite a convenient spell indeed.

Let XCOM figure out that data. Psionics and biological technology isn't a technology line on our side, so it would be better to use this data to exchange for other data or resources from XCOM.

To be honest, Sun Yang really couldn't find the location of these laboratories at first. It was only after the Iron-Blooded Puppets dismantled the front half of the spaceship that they found the location of these laboratories.

If he had known this from the beginning, Sun Yang would have let the Iron Blood Puppet jump out with a single-soldier fusion nuclear bomb to use the kamikaze tactics, and then raid these laboratories to seize resources.
