"It's best not to keep thinking about it."
At some point, Scáthach put down her bowl, came up behind Shiomi, and hugged him.
The soft touch of her full breasts from behind stirred his heart.
"We'll solve the strange occurrences left on the planet while searching for answers," Morgan cautioned. "I believe the answers will become clearer as Wufu walks along, rather than being obtained prematurely before we reach the end."
“That’s right.” Scáthach affectionately nibbled on Shiomi’s earlobe, her hands roaming over his body.
His left hand caressed his chest, while his right hand moved down as if no one else was there, touching the most crucial spot.
When people are well-fed and clothed, they think of other things; this is an age-old truth.
"Master... wait a minute..."
Shiomi wanted to regain the initiative, but Scáthach was unusually assertive today and wouldn't allow him to argue.
“Listen to your master’s instructions obediently.” Scáthach breathed warm, soft air into his ear. “I’ll make sure you don’t have time to ponder things alone.”
As she spoke, Scáthach picked him up and threw him onto the bedding laid out in the camp.
"At least finish packing up first," Morgan retorted with dissatisfaction.
“There’s no time for that now.” Scáthach pressed her hand on Shiomi’s chest and straddled him. “A certain stupid god needs some extreme measures to wake him up, and I’ve taken him down in the first round.”
“I’m not confused either.” Shiomi took Scáthach’s hand and intertwined their fingers. “It’s just that Master simply wanted—”
Before she could finish speaking, Scáthach's waist sank down, and Shio felt a red lotus bloom in her mind, rendering her unable to utter any more words.
Chapter Fifteen: Killing Domain (1)
There was killing.
After traversing the survival zone, following the rugged wilderness road, and passing through densely vegetated areas, they headed towards the central area of the Mysterious Realm, where the surrounding environment also changed dramatically.
Gone are the lush forests and strange life forms. The wasteland, like a blank sheet of paper, is now filled with the eerie, dark green carcasses of creatures whose blood has stained the pale wasteland.
As they traveled through this wilderness, tide Jian and the others could hear the sounds of gunfire constantly rising and falling in the distance, as if they were approaching a battlefield of modern human warfare.
The sound of an automatic rifle firing, the sound of bullets hitting flesh and blood splattering, and the sound of life falling.
They are constantly intertwined on this wasteland.
There was killing.
Standing on the high slope of the wasteland, watching the creatures battling on the plain.
They discovered even more astonishing creatures.
Monolithic creatures, spewing flames from dangerous organs and shooting out countless lead blocks, fight each other to the death.
Slaughter, sneer.
They search for their next prey, then scoff.
Repeat, and keep repeating.
The blood that had soaked the earth didn't even have time to dry before new blood was splashed on it.
This is the other form of this strange tale mentioned by Taigong Wang, an existence opposite to the realm of survival, called the realm of slaughter.
Slaughter and carnage are constantly repeated here.
For Shiomi and her companions, who had just crossed the survival zone, the places they came from and passed through seemed like fictional existences created by lies, making them doubt their authenticity.
Unfortunately, it wasn't a hallucination.
The realm of survival truly exists.
The killing field before us is also a real place.
Twisted beasts wielding firearms called guns are not concerned with the food chain; they only engage in relentless slaughter, creating a cruel and brutal world of carnage.
"Before entering this alternate realm, Storm Border observed the internal environment from above the barrier," Shiomi said quietly. "This alternate realm, located in the Tunguska River Basin, has two distinct colors inside."
Green, symbolizing life, and white, symbolizing desolation.
Although the latter differs slightly from the whiteness of the blank planet's surface.
Chaldea initially thought it was just a difference in terrain because the tank couldn't be cleaned from the outside, but now that they have a clear view, they understand.
Survival and slaughter.
Life and death.
Two different concepts constitute the inner and outer two-layer structure of this special realm of supernatural phenomena.
"Killing for the sake of killing, dying for the sake of dying." Through his magical artifact for communication, Taiko no Momo calmly said, "Even though you are all seasoned warriors, seeing such a meaningless battlefield will surely move you to some extent, won't it?"
His guess was basically correct.
Morgan, Scáthach, and Artoria all looked troubled after seeing this area.
Only Xijian, with an even colder gaze than usual, watched everything here.
"It's hard to say," tide Jian sighed.
The lighthearted feeling he had experienced from making love with them last night had now vanished uncontrollably, making him feel somewhat guilty for their kindness.
"Hmm, Lord Tianxi is even calmer than I expected," Taigong Wang commented.
“It’s not about being calm. I’ve done similar things before.” Shiomi looked at the strange creatures running across the wilderness, constantly fighting and killing. “There’s no reason to start a war. It’s just to keep killing, using terror and death as a restraining force for those fairies in the British Lostbelt.”
Morgan wanted to say that it wasn't meaningless.
But in fact, those killings were indeed pointless, meaningless, and didn't even require any righteous cause.
It was precisely this meaningless, two-thousand-year-long killing war that allowed Britain to maintain a dynamic balance and continue to exist.
So what about this killing field? And what is the purpose of this constant killing?
This question arose in Morgan's mind, and wanting to further investigate the realm of supernatural phenomena, he turned his gaze once again to the beasts engaged in battle.
They walk on two feet, with emerald green skin and twisted red flesh, and various firearms growing on their bodies.
Automatic rifles, submachine guns, sniper rifles, and a Gatling gun positioned in what appears to be the center of the head.
Numerous human weapon inventions seem to grow naturally on the bodies of these creatures.
Therefore, the muzzle is not limited to a certain direction; these strange creatures can fire bullets from any part of their bodies.
“Even at a distance of only a few hundred meters, they can’t detect us on the mountain.” Shiomi looked at the alien beasts. “It seems they are the type that specializes in direct combat, and there are no individuals used for sentry duty.”
Scáthach's expression was serious: "It seems that although this killing field is dangerous, it shouldn't be too much of a problem if we want to suppress the spiritual veins and go deep into the heart of the area."
No, that's not it.
Artoria suddenly gripped the Holy Lance, assuming a battle stance.
While observing the battlefield in the killing field, she also kept watch, keeping an eye out for any enemies that might approach.
Then, Koyanskaya, dressed in a white business suit, walked over slowly, seemingly appearing out of nowhere.
"Koyanskaya..." Shiomi stepped forward, standing at the forefront, confronting her, "Finally couldn't sit still any longer and decided to take matters into your own hands?"
“Yes, after all, some people are like cancer cells, constantly eroding my control over the earth's spiritual veins.” Koyanskaya seemed emotionless, just coldly looking at the group. “I have to come and see for myself to find out where the root of the problem lies so that I can cure it.”
“Cancer cells, huh?” Shiomi smiled knowingly. “To be honest, in the process of dividing your control over the spiritual veins within the Otherworld and weakening the power of the Otherworld Families and Replicas, I’ve pretty much figured out the nature of this place.”
"Oh?" Koyanskaya narrowed her eyes, a bloodthirsty killing intent surfacing in her smile. "After all, you are a man who even defeated the great god Zeus. It's not surprising that a god could sense you. It was my mistake not to seize the opportunity to devour you."
Shiomi opened her arms: "No, it was our mistake not to be able to kill you on Olympus with Orion's power back then... No, it should be said that we couldn't have killed you back then anyway."
"Hmph, what a boastful tone. It seems that becoming a god has made you arrogant too." Koyanskaya showed a lack of interest. "Just like those humans corrupted by power."
Chapter Sixteen: Killing Domain (2)
They confronted each other, and although their words were polite, they were all undisguised personal attacks.
"Now's the time to show off your verbal skills, Beast." Shiojian raised her chin. "Did you deliberately create this killing field and all these things to mock humanity?"
"What, are you dissatisfied with the battle beast I created?" Koyanskaya feigned surprise.
“Walk on two legs like a human, kill with guns like a human, and more importantly, be obsessed with killing like a human.” Scáthach frowned, her expression extremely displeased. “Although Rahm in Uruk feels something like that, at least those guys still have the basic intellect of ‘following the mother’s instructions’.”
However, these fighting beasts lack even this level of intelligence.
"What, are you uncomfortable because you're human and your fellow humans have had their true nature exposed?" Koyanskaya remained indifferent. "Weapons were created to kill our own kind, and these weapons are used to kill our own kind. From birth to the establishment of the planet's primate status, this cruelty has never disappeared."
“…What do you want to say?” Shiomi realized that Koyanskaya didn’t seem to have come just to fight.
"I didn't want to say anything, but since there happens to be a god here who insists on acting from a human perspective, I came here specifically to have a chat." Koyanskaya looked weary. "After all, right now, I'd rather hear your thoughts than devour."
"Ideas? You created these fighting beasts just to kill humans, didn't you?" Shiomi pointed out the truth incisively.
“That’s right. But unfortunately, none of you here can be considered purely human.” Koyanskaya exaggeratedly pointed at each person with her finger, “Gods, goddesses, fairies, and beings that are neither alive nor dead, beyond the definition of humanity.”
Normally, those fighting beasts would sense the presence of humans the moment they set foot here, and then instinctively approach and kill them.
Moreover, they must be human; even heroic spirits who were once human will not become targets for the battle beasts.
However, as Shiomi and her companions ventured deeper into the killing field and continued to approach the center, they could no longer become targets of attack.
"So that's why you had to show up in person?" Shio asked, her Star Eyes lighting up as she glanced at Koyanskaya before shaking her head. "Oh, it's not really personal. You showed up here without any intention of fighting us."
“Of course. As for the battle, it’s enough to leave it to them,” Koyanskaya said. “Although they don’t directly contact me, if I give them a command, they will swarm in and fight, no matter what kind of enemy it is.”
“Let’s give it a try.” tide Jian raised her hand. “Do you think these things can stop us?”
"Heh..." Koyanskaya's eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty light. "They're really going all out. They've already transcended the realm of humanity. Are they really planning to desperately solve one problem after another for the sake of humans who can't shake off their cruel nature?"
Morgan scoffed at this: "The way you're trying to sow discord is so low, Goyanskaya."
"Provocation? If stating the facts counts as provocation, then let's just say that's how it is," Koyanskaya said. "I guess you all know pretty much where the crisis of Earth's 'blank paper' came from, and you also know the true face of the alien gods."
"So what?" Shiomi was ready to eliminate Koyanskaya.
Unfortunately, what appeared here was not the original body, but an avatar that could use some of the Beast's powers, just like it did in Olympus.
Or rather, the terminal.
Moreover, having learned of the danger posed by Shiomi and the others, Koyanskaya has prepared to guard her main body and prevent the life or death of the terminal from being reflected back to her main body.
"In order to solve one crisis, they deliberately create another. In order to survive, they do not hesitate to take away the right to life of all other living beings, because they have the status of being the most intelligent of all beings, and can arbitrarily deprive other lives, even their own kind, of their lives." Koyanskaya revealed a mocking expression, "Don't you think that humans who cannot give up this animalistic nature are ultimately just beasts that can walk upright?"
"So you chose to assist the alien god's plan, to contribute to the extermination of humanity and to whitewash the human reasoning engraved on the planet?" tide Jian raised an eyebrow. "In your eyes, humans are no different from animals, so you plan to strip humans of their primate status."
“Of course. This planet doesn’t need humans, much less primates,” Koyanskaya said calmly.
Shio shook her head: "When you spout such nonsense and try to plan the fate of humanity, you are also degrading yourself to the same level as the humans you despise."
"Such sophistry is out of the question. It seems there's no point in saying anything more."
Koyanskaya raised her hand, and the battle beasts had already surrounded her during the brief pause in their conversation.
Morgan and her team noticed this and prepared to fight back.
“But please don’t forget that even an inch-long insect has five parts soul,” Koyanskaya said. “As the Beast, even if you are facing a god, don’t think you can make me submit with just a few words.”
"You don't plan to reveal your true form here?" Shiomi feigned surprise. "Are you afraid that an ambiguous appearance would be useless and a waste of your power?"
"That's none of your business," Koyanskaya said. "I'll be waiting for you all at NFF headquarters. Until then, let the battle beast and an old friend keep you company."
Before the battle beast could even move, a massive surge of magical power suddenly approached.
The black sun hung high above the killing field, and the surrounding wasteland changed accordingly.
"A reincarnation of Surut?" Shiomi glanced at it. "You think you can—"
"They've already run away."
Morgan had already erected a barrier to block the bullets fired by the war beasts, and he quipped to himself.
“You’re a master at escaping, that’s the charm of being alone.” Shiomi spread her hands. “But since they said they’d wait for us at headquarters, there’s no need for us to waste time here.”
"Then let's charge in." Scáthach threw her crimson spear into the middle of the horde, causing a large-scale explosion. "Speed is of the essence in war; there's no need to waste any more time here."
Artoria nodded and raised the Holy Lance: "I'll clear the way, Morgan and Scáthach will buy Tianxi time to sever the spiritual veins."
Shiomi, who knelt down and touched the ground with her palm, nodded as well.
"It's time to put an end to this journey."
Chapter Seventeen: Firearms
Technology and magic are an antithesis to each other.
When human technology was underdeveloped and we were still in a state of ignorance, magic was a symbol of miracles, and many magic tricks could even be defined as magic.
