Back to the protagonist, the male protagonist was born in the year 2000. At the beginning of his time travel, the protagonist was reborn from the womb. He is familiar with novels, two-dimensional anime and other cultural works. Although he has not received the beautiful girl and golden finger he has been waiting for, he is very satisfied. Because he was an orphan in his previous life, his only relative was the grandfather who was the director of the orphanage. However, their philosophies also conflicted and they could not fully understand each other. Therefore, the protagonist of his previous life died alone. The only color in his gloomy life was music. Although he worked in the financial industry and made a lot of money, he did not know how he ended up here (foreshadowing).
At the age of 13, the protagonist suffered from a mysterious illness of unknown origin and was plagued by persistent high fevers. He subsequently became extremely weak and spent most of his time in bed. Despite consuming a large amount of nutrients, his body remained unchanged, neither gaining weight nor becoming healthier or stronger. Possessing a strong sense of self-esteem, ambition, and inferiority, the protagonist was unable to face the gazes of others. Even when no one around him actually belittled him, he would still put pressure on himself, eventually reaching the point where he viewed everyone as an imaginary enemy, ultimately becoming a socially anxious person.
However, the social anxiety here differs from the usual definition. While social anxiety is generally defined as a fear of socializing, the protagonist's fear is of other humans. In his previous life, he fought alone to the death, but now that he has parents, he's become even more vulnerable. He wants to protect them, but lacks the strength, and the anxiety brought on by a strange illness has distorted his psychology.
The main plot of this article is probably about how the hero completes himself and redeems himself with others, his self-improvement in his previous life and his contribution to the world in this life.
The protagonist, who was about to leave school because of a promise he made with his younger sister, Asuka Matoki, is about to go to school. While claiming to have no romantic aspirations, he actually yearns for "true love." Unsure of his own death, he wants to pursue meaningful endeavors, but even his music career is struggling. While pondering this, he nearly falls to his death on the stairs at home, exhausted from phone use and physical weakness. In an emergency, something resembling a replica of "The World" appears to save him (a red heart-shaped ornament), and time in this world stops, fulfilling the protagonist's wish.
Because it was an "incomplete awakening", it quickly disappeared, and the Stand showed intelligence and thinking ability. The protagonist, who was thinking about something, wandered around and accidentally got on the train. After running back, he vomited in the station toilet due to social anxiety, and was already late.
Awakening a Stand consumes a significant amount of energy, so the protagonist, feeling hungry, decides to head to the school cafeteria. However, he's stopped by the guards, and Delta, the maid and bodyguard who's been secretly protecting him, appears. Finally, with the help of Principal Jin Kirikiri, an acquaintance from his parents' generation, he enters the cafeteria, where he frantically recharges his energy. His body rapidly recovers, and he begins to grow at a rate he hasn't seen in a long time. Even steam is visible (it wasn't that hot back then).
After resolving his urgent problem, the male protagonist returned to his usual social anxiety state, putting on a baseball cap, sunglasses, and mask, keeping everyone at a distance. Entering the classroom, he saw the trio of Ichinose Asuna, Kadodashi Karin, and Murokasa Akane squatting near his seat, and turned and ran, only to be caught up by Asuna. At that time, the male protagonist, whose "symptom" was still quite serious, went crazy and successfully attracted Asuna's attention. He was forcibly taken to his seat for the three to watch. Because of some special fate, the four of them unexpectedly had a high degree of goodwill towards each other (cute little boy.jpg)
After the jail break, the next one begins. I thought the class was over, but I found Karin sitting to the right of the protagonist, and Akane sitting in front of him. The protagonist, needing some afternoon rest, fell asleep, and a kind-hearted Karin tried to remind him to pay attention by throwing paper balls at him. When one didn't wake up, the other kept throwing them. As they played, they forgot their purpose and wrote some sincere words on them.
After class, Asuna comes to visit again and asks to make friends, but the male protagonist, who feels uncomfortable, refuses. After all, he comes here to spend time and not miss his appointment with his sister. If he makes friends, it will hurt her. Because of Asuna's magical operation, the male protagonist has to speak up, and he becomes the breakthrough point.
Chapter 11:
Although the hero doesn't say it, he still remembers these girls who are very cute in both appearance and personality. After school, his sister Asuka Matoki appears. He used to be a thousand miles away from others, but now he is full of praise and support, and he loves his family very much. In order to take care of the sick hero, his sister decided to become his sister's maid (?) to take care of him. Although it is a bit out of line, this is the "true love" that the hero wants to protect.
Chapter 12-20:
Afterglow, a character from the Bon Bon universe, appears. Compared to the main storyline in the original world, they are younger and have already met the protagonist earlier, their life paths having changed. The protagonist, who was originally just an acquaintance of Mitakeran, stands up for her and speaks with her father. He then develops a way to help her: the psychic power "Ripple" from the JoJo series. As the protagonist continuously replenishes his energy and undergoes intense training, his body rapidly grows. During this process, desires that hadn't existed for years due to physical reasons resurface, leading him to believe he's being fused with DIO. After maintaining a backup plan to ensure he wouldn't be harmed even if "possessed," he continues training, attempting to unleash the Ripple power of Jonathan's body, fused with DIO. However, repeated failures to push his limits have left him frustrated, to the point of a complete change in his aura.
Chapter 21-22:
He had originally thought he could do it all on his own, but the fact that he couldn't even recover, coupled with the years of bedridden life, made it difficult for him to continue to fuel his low self-esteem. Seeking a change of pace, he geared up and headed to the Wheel of Fortune arcade next to the station. There, he met a group of players, led by "Beirut (belt)," who gave him the feeling that the world might not be so dangerous, and he became addicted to the game. Unable to change his current situation, he resorted to this form of escape.
Chapter 23-28:
The male protagonist, who cheats with his Stand's superhuman precision, runs into Megane, who (for some reason) has been held back for a year because of a lack of attendance. They play a game together and realize they're a good match, almost like they know each other inside and out. One day, while playing games, they run into the trio of Asuna, Karin, and Akane. Seeing no escape, they join in the fun, and discover that girls might not be as scary as he imagined (pretty girl warning).
When Hua Lin went to the vending machine in the alley to buy a drink, she was surrounded by gangsters who were looking for Nel. The male protagonist's tough attitude made them afraid to take action, but in order to protect Hua Lin, the male protagonist used overly tough means to attract hatred, so he started fighting directly and killed the other side alone.
The male protagonist begins to automatically awaken ripples because his physical (physical) and mental activities have reached a certain level, but he cannot move during the process and sees the gangster stabbing him with a knife. Suddenly, Asuna appears and the male protagonist suddenly regains his mobility and knocks him down. After that, he begins to care about Asuna's specialness.
Under the guidance of police officer Beirut-san, the male protagonist enjoyed a pork chop meal in the police station. Later, he was quickly released through the testimony of key witnesses and the relationship between him and his sister outside the police station.
Chapter 29:
After reaching an agreement with Mizukuri's father, Mizukuri Mei, the male protagonist, who always pays attention to details, discovered that Mizukuri Mei's real purpose was to consider the health of his daughter Ran. It turned out that she in this world inherited her mother's fragile physique and even used a wheelchair for a period of time when she was a child (incorporating some voice actor elements). The male protagonist persuaded him with the power of Ripple (and the secret stand-in), and agreed that as long as Mizukuri's body would not have any problems, it would be fine.
Chapter 30-34:
During the day, it was discovered that Meganelle was not at the scene of the incident and she was the one the Yakuza were looking for. In order to find out the truth, the male protagonist went to her house at night. After some operations, the two of them used special tranquilizer bullets and pistols (the same as those used by Lycoris) to wipe out the Yakuza Inuno Group, whose strength had been greatly reduced. Before the police arrived, the two of them escaped. Under the night sky, they made an appointment to meet again tomorrow (but it was a school day).
Chapter 35
Acquaintances Yamabuki Saya and Kitazawa Ikumi are surprised by Hiranobu's transformation and the fact that he's actually going to school. Naturally, he's drawn to Asuna, and while he expresses displeasure, he's actually quite happy. He chats with Kadodate Karin and discovers they have many similarities, increasing their affinity.
Chapter 36-37:
Help Mizukari master the ripples.
Chapter 38-42:
Monthly exams and transfer students, unexpectedly, the legendary transfer student turned out to be Miganello who was repeating a grade. What a surprise (in every sense). I thought the male protagonist's grades would be very bad because he didn't pay attention in class, but he was actually very good. On the contrary, Hana Rin, who has always been very serious, had very poor grades. There are many loopholes in her junior high school knowledge (foreshadowing)
Chapter 43-47:
On Saturday, Asuna, Karin, and Akane, who were at the Hanazawa Café near the protagonist's home, unexpectedly ran into Xiaoshi, their younger sister, and the three of them went over to his house to hang out. Although the socially anxious protagonist had prepared many things for a one-day hangout with his friends, today's event was not part of his plan, but they still had a great time. Karin developed a crush on the protagonist due to her initial impression, the hero's rescue, and their close interactions. She asked to visit the protagonist's room, where she discovered a guitar. He played "Stand and Out Fit In," which moved her and sparked a romance. The protagonist chose to dedicate this song to Karin, who might be in a similar situation to his in his previous life, highlighting his purpose. Just like how he created the incredibly popular music account PhoeniX, it wasn't for profit, but to allow himself, in his next life, to do something worthwhile, to promote the music culture he loves, elevate the world, and give voice to those who, like him, cannot find a voice.
Social anxiety or things that are difficult for ordinary people to communicate through words can be achieved through music, and this is the meaning of his efforts so far.
Chapter 48-49:
The conversation with his younger sister Xiaoshi put the relationship that was originally heading towards a superior-subordinate relationship back on track, making Asuka Matoki a more lively one.
Chapter 50:
The conversation with Yamabuki Saya reveals that the protagonist has actually been doing things for others silently, and is also very loved, but he himself is not confident.
Chapter 51-53:
The protagonist's sense of crisis mounts upon learning that there might be other superpowers in this world. To prevent Mizukari's ripples from causing trouble for her and those around her, he takes her on a training session. Meganelle, seeking to find the protagonist, is discovered by Asuka while infiltrating. Xiaoshi, who was previously losing in the game, wants to fight her. This is because, after a previous conversation with the protagonist, she no longer hides her jealousy and competitive streak. She no longer wants to sit back and act alongside her beloved brother. Meganelle has the opportunity she wants, but she doesn't cherish it. Meganelle uses a trick similar to "Hell Warrior" to simulate the protagonist's thoughts, breaking through the situation. Even with their tacit understanding, such a thing couldn't be achieved overnight. Why?
Chapter 54:
The future Roselia vocalist Yukina Minato appears
Chapter 55-59:
Afterglow held its first independent performance, and took this opportunity to make Meizhumei, who had never understood them, become a fan. She agreed that as long as it did not affect her studies and flower arrangement learning (as long as she was in good health), the father and daughter reconciled, and under the male protagonist's persuasion, everyone held a celebration party together. Many characters who will have more roles in the future appeared.
Chapter 60-62:
Meganelle was nowhere to be seen at the celebration party, and she didn't respond to his messages. Worried about her living alone, uncared for, and the possibility of being attacked by remnants of the group, the protagonist went there with packed food. Upon arriving, he discovered she had a severe cold and used Ripple to treat her. Due to their compatibility and talents, she learned Ripple, and their connection became inseparable.
Chapters 63-66:
Daily back with Ji Tousi, make up lessons
Chapter 67-79:
The protagonist unexpectedly runs into Yukina Minato and Lisa Imai, and after resolving a previous misunderstanding, everything should be fine. However, the protagonist overhears their conversation and becomes angry at Yukina's self-absorption, ignoring those who truly care about him. Sharing a common passion for music, the two decide to compete, deciding the outcome through musical competition. The result is a surprising draw, and they reconcile.
After the reconciliation, the male protagonist followed through on the bet and helped her form a band, and he was able to gather five people on the spot by grabbing dolls. Although there were still doubts about each other, after the performance, the trust between them was very high, so the lineup was tentatively determined, waiting for the real test in the future.
Chapters 80-81:
The male protagonist took the little sister Shirogane Rinko, who was an expert in social anxiety games, to the game center to practice overcoming social anxiety so as not to embarrass herself during the performance. He met Meganelle by chance. The two played for a while and then she left after leaving some ambiguous words.
Chapter 82-89:
The only woman the hero can't fathom arrives, along with her three friends, Kadotate Karin, Murokasa Akane, and Miganelu. During Golden Week, they all have a blast (in a healthy sense) staying over. One night, while they're in the bath together, their younger sister, Asuka Matoki, asks them to help her capture her brother, and the romance officially begins (something like Reverse Date A Live?).
Chapter 90-98:
In the personal replies of several people, several beautiful girls have developed a good impression of the male protagonist, but the male protagonist currently only has feelings for Karin and Asuna.
Chapter 99-104:
The story of Roselia's formation process being interfered with by the male protagonist, leading to disagreements but reconciliation, and then everyone watching a movie together
Chapter 105:
Asakura Toru, Higuchi Enka, Ichikawa Hinana, and Fukumaru Koito appear on the same stage for the first time. Toru is different from usual and Enka is suspicious of this.
Chapter 106-119:
The hero fights the delinquents, truly conquering them. After a passionate speech, he hopes to guide them back to the right path, just as he hopes someone in the past could have helped him in this way. Fortunately, this world is more truthful, kind, and beautiful, so the hero becomes the leader of the delinquents in this area, assigning someone to guide them through learning, training, and reformation.
Fighting is a process of becoming stronger, and the instinct to be powerful is embedded in the genes of humans, especially males. But true strength doesn't come from bullying the weak. The protagonist's actions of defeating and helping the bad guys not only allow his ripples to break through in battle but also satisfy a deep-seated desire: a desire to compete. Bullying women and children doesn't count as true strength; true strength comes from defeating other men.
The protagonist, feeling safe and satisfied, becomes more gentle and kind, his strength increases and his personality improves. Meanwhile, his inner desires and ambitions gradually emerge in the process. He wants to fall in love and make the world a better place.
Chapters 120-123:
In the days that are not written, the relationship between the male protagonist and the four women has become increasingly close, but if he were to confess his feelings, he would only choose Kadotaki Karin, whose personality is most compatible with her. Perhaps he wants to love her for who she is in the past, but he does have feelings for the girl in front of him.
The male protagonist first gave various hints and then made an appointment with Karin to meet one day, but on the way there, Karin accidentally met Asuna and for some reason she did not show up and there was no explanation.
The male protagonist, who thought his first relationship was over, had just regained his confidence, but it was lost again. He became completely distraught and even had the idea that he was not worthy of being loved.
To cheer the hero up, his sister Asuka Matoki confesses her feelings to him (in a self-destructive way, similar to the Great Teacher). Although she is rejected, it does help the hero cheer up a little. Although this behavior may seem nonsensical, the relationship between the hero and Matoki is not pure family affection or pure love, but a complex mixture of many emotions, which is expressed in the way that both of them are willing to change and sacrifice for each other, so even such behavior is not surprising.
Chapters 124-125:
The protagonist goes out on a rainy day and encounters a mysterious and beautiful girl hiding from the rain. Although they can't see each other's faces, they both develop a liking for each other. Higuchi Enka guesses that the man in the rain is probably Asakura Toru's "mysterious pen pal", and while she feels relieved, she also has some other doubts.
Chapter 126:
Cutscene, the hero just wants to be quiet
Chapters 127-128:
Soon, Yukina's band Roselia will be performing for the first time, and the protagonist, as a participant, naturally wants to go to see it. From their music, the protagonist feels a certain urge in his heart, so he decides to regroup and this time, no matter what, he will win over Karin.
From here on, the male protagonist turns from passive to active and begins to truly muster up the courage to embrace the world.
Plot Review, Volume 1, Part 2
Chapters 1-2:
Ichinose Asuna's sudden decision to form a band stems from a genuine interest in the band, but also from a desire to connect with the protagonist. Subtle details reveal that she's not just playing it safe, but genuinely understanding the protagonist and quietly changing for the better, something you don't usually see from the main character's perspective. The band's name, CC, isn't simply a matter of chance or fate.
Each character in this story has their own life, but they always return to the protagonist's side. Asuna and Karin's awkward yet endearing behavior is related to the previous "confession" incident, which will be revisited later. The protagonist's every word reflects his seriousness about his relationship, which is also the path of "faith" that runs throughout the book.
Chapter 3-13:
Because of the aftermath of the previous "confession incident", the relationship between the brother and sister gradually began to drift apart, but from this time on, the two gradually became closer, or rather, it could be said that they had always been a little too close... The protagonist's sister, Asuka Matoki, participated in this farce because she unconditionally supported her brother, and believed that the person closest to him and who was the most trustworthy must be herself, and in fact, this was indeed the case.
This isn't in the canon outline, but I suddenly thought of it and wrote it because it was fun. It plays with some memes, but it's not just memes. Skills and superpowers are named after other works simply because they're similar in form (and the author's personal preference). The principles aren't exactly the same, so if the details aren't explained, you can imagine them. I originally wanted to write about a little sister who, in her younger years, did something bad to get close to her brother, like "bullying an elementary school boy who liked girls," only to be punished, and then "Tenwu Killing Path, Sister-Breaking Path." But after a dozen chapters, it morphed into the original "Brother-Breaking Path," which is really lamentable...
This demonstrates that the protagonist's understanding and development of superpowers isn't limited to the original source material. Just like the music he creates in this world, he uses the source material's name because he doesn't believe it's his own creation, demonstrating his particularity and rigor. The development of his abilities is related to future plot points, but just follow along and don't take specific notes.
I also took this opportunity to add some settings and characters, such as the super powers part.
Chapters 14-15:
The introduction of the CC band's plot shows that they are not taking the opportunity to fall in love but are really practicing. It is a small foreshadowing, probably connecting the previous and the next.
Chapter 16-41:
This is primarily about Meganelle's personal arc, a private plot. After all, there's no information about her parents in the Azure Plains world, but you can't just drop down from the sky into this world... though there are definitely some auras. I feel like my writing is pretty good here, so I won't go into detail. I hope you'll enjoy watching it for yourself!
Chapters 42-45:
A chance encounter with Yamada Ryo and Ijichi Nikka on a rainy day in Shimokitazawa, followed by another encounter with Goto Ichiri on the road, is another character introduction episode. Since this is a daily story, don't expect any dramatic developments; everyone's story unfolds over time and culminates in a heartwarming, happy ending. No obstacles along the way are a problem; the strength the protagonist has painstakingly accumulated (and the author's painstaking foreshadowing) is truly worth it!
Chapters 46-48:
This is a transitional episode that connects the previous and next chapters, but it also contains some information, such as Meganelle beginning to try to change her image to become a more traditional girl, which leads to Roselia's main storyline later. There are also some hidden love lines, such as in episode 48, Murokasa Akane, who has been hanging around the male protagonist, but has not yet fully fallen in love with him, despite having already captured Nel. If there was a joke before, now it is that she has truly begun to fall in love with the male protagonist.
Chapters 49-43:
The story is based on the first chapter of Roselia's main storyline, but it is completely different except that Yuki was followed by two people and eavesdropped on them, but he didn't realize it yet (
However, with the protagonist around, it is impossible for him to really explode. The current dispute is actually a foreshadowing for a more harmonious relationship in the future. These events also show that the protagonist loves to worry and likes to take the initiative to intervene. In this respect, he is very similar to the traditional great and glorious protagonist. Unfortunately, he is not (emphasis!)
Chapters 55-56:
Roselia's first independent performance, to be able to do this means that they are no longer a rookie band.
Chapter 57:
The four noctchills who quietly appeared in the story but have not yet entered the plot, their appearance here means that the hero's efforts have not been in vain (see intermission 81). This kind of plot where two people meet but don't recognize each other is actually just my bad taste (one of them)
Chapters 58-59:
This is a classic, written on a whim, but it's not entirely for my own amusement. It's a bit of a showcase for how the protagonist has built up his team. There are many people like him who have benefited from his unpaid help, and they all will be useful at some point, a playful, wide-ranging strategy. It's also driven by the protagonist's personality. Although he always considers himself a bad guy, he's actually just too demanding of himself. His actions are undoubtedly good.
Chapter 60:
This chapter connects the previous and next chapters, briefly explaining the reason for Meganelle's sudden change, and adding a little foreshadowing to the fun.
Chapter 61:
Is this a necessary transition? After all, we can't forget they're all still students, and as students, they have to study, do homework, and take exams. The focus is on the changes the hero brings to Yukina, and how the people around her aren't just background figures; they have their own thoughts and lives. Is this a minor but necessary plot point?
Chapters 62-66:
Retrieving the little boomerang from chapter 60, the fact that they can joke around and drop by unexpectedly shows they have a good relationship. Honestly, I originally wanted to make the scene where the 5 Afterglow members meet the 5 Roselia members into a funny plot like catching an adulterer, but then I thought about how the protagonist is really sincere and serious about them, and it would be awkward to do so. As everyone knows, my outline is just for show (sad).
But isn't it wonderful that these two groups of people with different ideologies can live and work together under the same roof because of the protagonist's existence? They don't need to be forced to reconcile by the protagonist, but to use their own music to provide answers. The band girls in the title are not just decorations~
Chapter 67:
This is a crucial transitional episode. The protagonist's sister, Asuka, is furious when she discovers he still has some self-destructive tendencies and still likes to belittle himself. Even though the protagonist constantly belittles himself, his beloved sister no longer blindly agrees with him. Her behavior has truly changed because of the protagonist's previous teachings. She'll do what the protagonist wants, even if it goes against his will, because it's better for him. I think this kind of family love is wonderful.
Chapters 68-70:
Although some characters haven't appeared in the book and won't have much of a role in the future, the protagonist still holds them in his heart. He's a truly caring and compassionate protagonist, unlike the typical ruthless killer. This once again highlights the author's selective nature in his writing. Even in places not mentioned, they experience many stories, as if they truly exist somewhere on this planet. I always think about and interpret these characters as real people, not just tools. The plots in my books are always shaped and transformed by the characters themselves.
