13. He’ll Be Mad

“Son, what do you think of that black-haired, dark-eyed Omega? She’s pretty tall, too.” Mama Lu[1] gestured to the lady as if presenting a treasure to her son.

Lu Meng fell silent, wondering if he could say that her hair wasn’t as nice as Li Ze’s, or that her eyes didn’t hold as much depth as Li Ze’s.

Forced to stand by the lady’s side to listen for a while, Lu Meng slanted his eyes to meet his mother’s anticipating gaze once more, “Mom, she talks so much.”

Mama Lu had in fact assumed her son would be interested in the chattier ones. She pulled a dejected-looking Lu Meng off to the side for a talk, “Son, even though Mom did wish for you to marry a female Omega, it’s also fine if you like Betas.” Since they were arranging blind dates, it was their first instinct to try finding him an Omega. Considering that Father Lu and Mama Lu were an Alpha and Omega pair, they naturally felt that this kind of relationship would be best and the most stable.

Lu Meng shook his head, “No. There are many Betas in the unit, but I’ve never met one that I liked.”

“Then do you like boys?” Mama Lu asked carefully. Noticing the way Lu Meng suddenly startled, she thought she had guessed right, “This child. Liking boys isn’t a big deal.” It’s true that Mama Lu wished for a soft and gentle daughter-in-law, but her son’s happiness was most important to her.

Lu Meng looked out into the night, a little disheartened. Liking boys really wasn’t a big deal, but why was his entire head filled with Li Ze’s face? He also had a feeling that if he really were to find himself a male Omega, Li Ze would definitely get mad.

[1] To generalize, I should be using “Mother Lu”, since I used “Father Li/Lu” for their fathers, but “Mother Lu” just doesn’t hit it, you know?? So I decided to go with “Mama Lu”.
