Unspoken Feelings

Tristan who saw Henry from afar smiled within himself. He was just thinking of teasing him, but who would have thought that the man would be so annoyed and walked away. Having led Madel to the pergola, he started to have a little chat.

"Thank you, for saving all of us." Madel said.

"Huh?" Tristan pretended that he did not know.

"The shadows have stopped following us. You are the only one who can suppress them." Madel said.

"You are not as slow as I thought you are." Tristan smiled. "would I lose the only person who listens to me?"

"I know it was a big risk for you to save all of us. Just say anything…" Madel said. "If I can I will do it for you."

"….." Tristan paused.

There was an awkward silence.

"I am already exiled Madel, what is there to risk?" He said. "By the way, have you confessed your feelings towards Henry?"

She took a deep breath and sighed. "No"

"he cares for you." He said.

Madel was conflicted. Henry might be her friend but he was an existence that she could never reach. She can only love him secretly.

"I really love him Tristan, everyday its growing stronger and stronger. I am falling for him each day. I tried to talk myself out of this but my heart is so stubborn."

There are a lot of feelings that Madel can't express to Cheska and Helen. She was not blind so as not to see their concern for him. There was a big chance that they love him too and she does not want to start any rivalry between them.

"It is hard. Look at me, thirteen lifetimes and I am still in love with the same woman." Tristan shook his head.

Sometimes he needed to vent out that overwhelming love within him and his frustrations. As a shadow, he was immortal. He only needed to possess a new younger body to continue existing in human form. Unlike other immortals he was weird enough to have feelings of love.

To continue the race, mortals secrete hormone to induce the feelings of love to find a mate. This is then followed by the urge to reproduce. An immortal does not need this function in the body. They will continue to live even if they do not reproduce.

"You are always asking me if I confessed to Henry but you haven't even confessed yourself." Madel said. "You just allow me to send your beloved flowers and gifts everyday but you are just as coward as me."
