Welcome to Freak Class!

Tap, tap, scribble, scribble... The sound of light tapping on the desks and pens writing broke the quiet atmosphere. The teacher was writing mathematical formulas on the blackboard.

Ding~ Just before the bell rang, Mr Kawamata finished writing down the formulas.

“Well, let’s call it a day! Class is over!” Mr Kawamata took his books and walked briskly out of the classroom.

“Ahh.” Yuu fell onto his desk weakly and looked at the formula under his chin. ‘Sigh, if I had known, I wouldn’t have applied to Yuri Academy,’ Yuu thought. Most of the students in class had already left, leaving only him. Yuu sat up straight, took out his lunch box from his school bag and solved the math problem on the table while he ate.

Bang! The classroom door was violently opened, startling Yuu who turned to look. It turned out to be Ushi Hiroshi. Yuu calmed down but when Ushi Hiroshi came in, Yuu’s expression became like this (⊚ _ ⊙).

“U-U-Ushi Hiroshi, your, your face…” Yuu raised a trembling hand and pointed at his face. He had been badly beaten and was bleeding.

“Ah, this? It’s nothing!” Ushi Hiroshi waved impatiently and returned to his seat. Seeing that he was in a bad mood, Yuu turned around and continued to do his math problems. Yuu was seriously working on them when a girl suddenly appeared in front of him. However, Yuu didn’t notice her at all. 

“Whaa!” When Yuu sat up to stretch, he found a girl standing in front of him and jumped in shock.

“Ah, you’re Hirota Tomoe, right?” Yuu scratched his head. The girl nodded.

“This is wrong.” Hirota Tomoe pointed at Yuu’s math problem. “You have to do it like this.” She wrote down the right formula.

“Ah, thank you.” Yuu thanked her, and she returned to her seat.

‘Why didn’t my classmates go for their break today?’ Yuu sat in his seat and scratched his head.

Bang! The door of the classroom was once again violently opened. Mr Kawamata came in and said, “Dear students, I have an ‘emergency’ here!” The teacher crossed his arms.

“What is it?” Yuu couldn’t figure it out. The teacher’s “emergency” frightened him very much ?.

“There will be a quiz the day after tomorrow.” Mr Kawamata casually replied.

“But, but Mr. Kawamata, isn’t it too soon?” Yuu got up.

“Well, it’s the headmaster’s decision. There’s no other way!” said Mr Kawamata as he spread his hands and shook his head. Yuu stood there, his expression turning gloomy.

‘My god, just the first day and I’m already so miserable! Who, who can help me?!’ Yuu thought to himself. There were leaves flying across his pale back from time to time. How pitiful!
