Kate POV:

"Pick you up? Yeah.... Ok..... Sure. Let me just tell my dad." I hanged up the phone. Asher was calling me to have someone take him home. I go over to my dad and asked him and he said it was alright. We both got in the car.

"... Prom is coming up. Who you gonna take?" My dad asked with a smirk.

I really couldn't say anything about that. There's really no one at the time that I would like to go with. "No one. I'm not gonna go." I simply told him.

He had a shocked expression. "Oh really? You should go. It's an experience... Hey that boy Asher. You've been close friends with him. Why don't you ask him to prom?" these words coming out of my dad's mouth made me feel warm and fuzzy.

Asher... Why does saying his name make me feel like this. I thought for a while... "...It's alright dad, I just won't go."

"Well alright." my dad looked dissapointed.

"About 10 minutes... What the...? KATE" my dad yelled as 2 naked guys bashed my dad's front car window with a pipe.

"AHHHH What's going on?!!?!" I start to panic. I don't know what's going on. Do these men want to hurt us?

My dad quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me out the car with him, then we started running. The men were chasing us.

"Don't look back Kate! Just keep on running—"

Baaaaaaang!

That's when it happened... My dad got shot in the neck with a bullet... "Dad no! Please!!" I run up to my dad and I didn't know what to do. I was so scared.

"Hey little girl... Just come with us... Join the raid... You'll feel so much better..." the man who shot my dad had a mask on. He held out his hand to me.

"......No...." I said. I was shaking so much. I was too afraid.

"Fine then..." the man aimed his gun at me.

"Please no... Please..... I don't wanna die!!!!" I couldn't move my legs. I was paralyzed. Just able to scream hoping someone will be able to save me.
