Kara became a servant to protect Alyssa, but since she'd been there, she'd hardly spent any time with her sister.

She thought about the times when they had stayed up late on Friday nights, watching B-list horror films and mocking the horrible acting. It was silly, but she felt close to her sister during those times. It helped her forget everything she had been through and provided an escape.

Perhaps it was time to start that tradition again. It wasn't much, but if it meant as much to Alyssa as it did to Kara, perhaps it would break the spell the Caswell Clan had on her baby sister. It definitely couldn't make the situation worse, and it was something that would make Kara's own time with the Caswell Clan more enjoyable.

She pranced down the hallway to Alyssa's room, conveniently located across from Logan's. Alyssa didn't have to share her room with anyone because she was Logan's sole servant. Kara always wondered exactly how much time the two spent together and if there was a hint of romance to their relationship. The idea terrified her. Logan was more kind than Michael, but if Alyssa loved him, Kara would never win her sister back.

Alyssa stepped out of the room just as Kara was about to knock. "Well, that was perfect timing." She laughed, her dark hair bouncing. Kara still hadn't gotten used to her sister's new haircut. The bob made the young girl look more sophisticated and for some reason that bothered her.

"Yeah." Kara's laugh was softer than her sister's. "Were you headed somewhere?"

"I was just going to get a snack. I have a class to get to after that, but I shouldn't be gone long. What's up?"

"Well," Kara said as she ran her fingers through her hair. She didn't know why she was so nervous about this. "Today is Friday. I was wondering if you wanted to watch some movies with me tonight." She expected to be laughed at, but Alyssa's response came as a pleasant surprise.

A smile spread across her face. "Oh my god, we haven't done that since high school! I would love to start doing it again, it sounds like so much fun. I'll be home around 6:30 tonight, I can be ready at 7:00. I might ask Logan to join us too if that's ok with you. He would get a kick out of it."

Kara's joy shrank at the mention of Logan's name. She couldn't bring herself to ruin Alyssa's enthusiasm by denying her wish, but having Logan there would only help solidify Alyssa and Logan's relationship.

"Yeah, that's fine." She forced a smile. At least with Logan there, she could spy on the couple and learn their exact relationship.

"Perfect! See you then," she replied and leaped down the staircase after giving Kara a light kiss on the cheek.

As 7:00 PM rolled around, Kara lay on the couch in her room, falling asleep. She woke when Alyssa flew into her room and jumped on the sofa, knocking her onto the burgundy carpet.

"I can't believe you're falling asleep," she said, pretending to be angry as she shook her finger with vigor. "I said I'd be here at seven."

Kara started giggling, despite the bruise on her butt from her fall. The humor of the moment stood out in stark contrast to the drama and headaches of everything else since she arrived in the mansion. This was a good idea.

"He said that he would join us later." Alyssa didn't seem to share Kara's happiness at his absence.

Kara thought about taking the opportunity to ask about their relationship, but before she got a chance, Alyssa changed the subject.

"So, are you set on horror films?" she asked.

"Actually, there is this romantic comedy that came out a while back, and I've been dying to see it," Kara said.

Alyssa laughed. "You want to watch a romantic comedy? That's a new one. I was wanting to watch this new action flick. The main actor is basically unheard of, but he's majorly hot and half-naked for most of the movie."

It wasn't what she had planned, but it was something. The fact that Alyssa wanted to watch a movie because there was a hot guy in it was also promising. It could mean that she was not involved with Logan.

"Whatever, we can do both," she replied.

They watched the romantic comedy first, but it wasn't nearly as good as the critics claimed, and they hoped the next movie would make up for that.

Alyssa jumped off the couch. "You're not leaving are you?" Kara asked. "I thought we were going to watch the other one too."

Alyssa giggled. "I'm just going to the bathroom. Why don't you make us some popcorn?"

Kara nodded and watched her sister head into the bathroom with a smile on her face. She truly felt like it was the old days again in her apartment. She popped the popcorn in the microwave and got the next movie ready. She was just sitting back down with the bowl of popcorn when there was a knock at the door.

Alyssa rushed out of the bathroom and pulled the door open. "Yay! You've come!" she cheered as Logan entered. She threw her arms around his neck. "I'm so glad."

It was in that instant that Kara knew exactly how hard this fight was going to be. Alyssa was in love with him. She had fallen for one of the monsters. Kara thought of Michael and promised herself she would not make that same mistake.
