33. A Kiss Interrupted

For the next few days Xiao ShengNian was frequently summoned by the emperor, who deliberately did so to show his love for this son. There were many voices at court proposing to name the eldest prince the Crown Prince. “Let Yu Jiang go with you. And, come back early.” Xiao ShengNian said, reaching out to stroke Su Jie’s lips, his eyes narrowed when seeing Xiao ShengNian’s bright smile and his tone couldn’t help but turn doting as traces of warmth welled up in him.

Probably it was because of Zhou Zaiyue, Xiao ShengNian now began to accept this boy. And Su Jie was a lovable boy himself, therefore there seemed to be some bond and chemistry developing between the two.

Su Jie, a bit uncomfortable by the intimacy, was rendered in a daze before he came back to himself, leaned closer and pressed his lips on Xiao ShengNian’s.

Xiao ShengNian hurried to open the door but Zhou Zaiyue immediately turned around to leave, saying without even giving them a look, “Nothing serious. I was just in the mood to teach you something, but it seems like you’re unavailable for the moment. So just forget it.”

“Please wait a moment, shifu. I’m available, even if I’m not, my business can wait.” With that, Xiao ShengNian gestured Su Jie to be good before he went away with Zhou Zaiyue.

‘Zhou Zaiyue did that on purpose!’ Su Jie thought.
