Unusual Fate Records

Chapter 89, Section 027: Reunion

Chapter 89, Section 027: Reunion

Jin Ziyue tugged at his collar and subconsciously lowered his head to cover his face.

He walked along the roadside with his hands in his pockets and a guitar case slung over his shoulder, listening to the cars whizzing by.

The wailing of police sirens rang in my ears.

He looked up and saw a familiar policewoman driving towards the hotel where the explosion had occurred.

The explosion at the scene has attracted the attention of various media outlets and the public.

"This is the third bombing this month, and compared to the bombings of the previous days, this one seems to be of a more serious nature."

"We are currently downstairs at the hotel where the explosion occurred. The area has been cordoned off, and the number of casualties is still being tallied."

The sound of an ambulance siren could be heard from afar, and all the passersby stopped to watch.

The whispers among everyone were filled with unease about the city.

"Aren't the recent terrorist attacks too rampant?"

"Isn't the league going to do anything about it?"

"What's going on this time? There have been two attacks on hotels already. Have some dangerous individuals moved in?"

"Don't you know? Both of these hotels have connections; they've probably offended someone."

Jin Ziyue interrupted them, giving them an apologetic smile: "Excuse me, could you please move aside?"

Carrying his guitar case, he weaved through the crowd, quickly entered the alley around the corner, and slipped into a dilapidated little house. The house was simply furnished, clearly uninhabited.

He checked the surrounding equipment to make sure there was nothing wrong before walking to the window and drawing the curtains.

It was evening, and the sky was ablaze with red clouds.

Jin Ziyue made sure the anti-theft system and security alarm were working properly before lifting the door gate under the carpet.

Opening the door, a wooden underground staircase came into view.

He held up a candle to test the oxygen levels underground.

Normal combustion.

Only then did he hoist his guitar bag onto his shoulder and crouch down to peer down.

The underground chamber was dimly lit, but at least the electrical circuits were functioning properly.

He moved a silver metal case resembling an old-fashioned radio from the corner, slightly adjusted the knobs on it, extended the receiving antenna, and after completing all the preparations, he put on the headphones himself.

The man held his breath and turned on the device.

A young man's voice came through the earphones:

"How could this be?"

"We were also ambushed here; the enemy is even more terrifying than we expected."

Even the usually composed man couldn't contain himself any longer and slammed his fist into some furniture, making a loud bang.

“He was enraged…and sacrificed himself…” The young man’s sobs rang out. “He risked his life to protect me so that I could send the intelligence back.”

He said the other party was skilled at using neurotoxins and might use different neurotoxins depending on each of our individual circumstances.

“We understand that as well,” the middle-aged man said.

"Brother Greed, were all three of them affected by neurotoxins?"

"Binge suddenly developed during the investigation, which is an insatiable appetite, but he felt no sensation when eating anything, so in the end he ate the entire wall, but still couldn't solve the problem. Now that I think about it, it must have been a nerve drug that produced hunger."

Where is BingeEating now... what happens if he doesn't get enough to eat?

"He wasn't really starving, but his central nervous system kept sending hunger signals. He would either starve to death or overeat beyond his physiological limits. Unfortunately, we got separated when we were ambushed. The enemy used a powerful hallucinogenic ability, and everyone fell into a hallucination."

Jin Ziyue frowned. He hadn't considered the hallucinogenic ability yet, but he silently noted it down and would study how to counter it later.

"When I broke free from the illusion, Sloth had fallen into a deep coma, Envy had gone blind, and Gluttony had devoured a wall and fallen downstairs, his fate unknown."

The man's tone was somewhat dejected, clearly indicating that the sudden bad news had been a significant blow to them both.

"How's the arrogance side?"

"I let that leader go."

"Huh?" the young man asked in surprise.

Another man said, "They left a tracking number on him, didn't they?"

"Ah."

"This might be the only good news. I will never forgive that man named Aoyagi."

"Sure enough, that's his style. But if we're talking about the mastermind behind it all, he's not qualified. Someone like him wouldn't have such a massive scheme if he didn't have anyone backing him up, and he wouldn't have the right to run rampant like this," the man said bitterly.

A woman's voice rang out: "How are jealousy and sloth doing now?"

"In the intensive care unit."

Then, a silence fell.

Jin Ziyue took off his headphones, turned off the monitoring device, and returned the knob to its original position.

The number nine is not far away. The day when the nine yang energies converge will be the day when calamity is reborn.

It must be excellent nourishment for the convergence of all rivers into the sea.

The room was quiet, and the old incandescent light bulb, like a drowsy old man, emitted an increasingly soft light.

Jin Ziyue tidied up the equipment on the table, opened his guitar bag, and inside was a folk guitar with a simple, unadorned finish. He opened the guitar case, revealing neatly arranged metal tubing, shelves, and other components.

He took out the black metal parts and placed them in the cabinet.

Suddenly, his fingertips paused.

Jin Ziyue reached out and touched the cabinet without making a sound, then rubbed his fingers together.

He stood there motionless for a full minute.

In the instant he turned around, he suddenly flicked his wrist, and a throwing knife shot out from his sleeve, flying towards the wall.

Suddenly, a semi-transparent light and shadow appeared on the original gray cement wall, moving swiftly like a human figure, barely dodging the stabbing knife, and embedding itself into the wall with a clang.

As the opponent moved, the semi-transparent material gradually became visible. A humanoid figure crouched down, rolled, and then leaped up. At the same time, four piano strings shot out from pre-set angles toward Jin Ziyue.

Jin Ziyue stepped out with his left leg, steadied his lower body, twisted his waist and leaned back, changing position to avoid three paths: under his leg, in front of him, and behind his waist. Finally, the piano string that was shooting towards his neck was blocked by him leaning back and pressing his head down, the air passing over the tip of his nose.

He had no time to look up. He heard the other person hum softly, the piano strings in the glove fiddling and twisting, the piano strings interwoven in various parts of Jin Ziyue like a coiled rope, almost instantly binding and strangling him.

However, Jin Ziyue's eyes remained calm.

Almost simultaneously, an invisible aura suddenly swirled around him, and the disturbed airflow snapped the constricted piano strings apart, as if an invisible shield had been activated. The piano strings tightly bound the transparent shield, twisting into a ball shape, but could not advance an inch.

The man was only slightly surprised, then pulled back and reeled in the piano string, which, like a snake that had come to life, reluctantly retreated from around Jin Ziyue back into the man's glove.

At this moment, Jin Ziyue had time to see who it was.

The young man's smile was quite arrogant, his unruly eyes were like those of someone eyeing prey, revealing an excited look, his hair was slightly curly and fell messily over his eyes, and a dangerous glint flashed between his brows.

The pace is picking up!
