Chapter 596: Quietly guarding the secluded boudoir, praying for you to bathe in the dawn

Li Yuanji was overjoyed and was about to speak with a smile, but hesitated and felt a little embarrassed to say it out loud.

In fact, at this moment, his mind was filled with Jiang Wei's every smile and frown, and those little moments they had experienced together, flashing by like movie scenes.

Seeing that Li Yuanji didn't say anything, Jiang Wei deliberately teased: "Forget it, forget it. I think I'll go back and be with that handsome guy in our company. Maybe he can make people happy better than you."

Upon hearing this, Li Yuanji was extremely anxious. The smile on his face instantly turned into a panic expression. He quickly said, "Oh, come on! How can he compare with me? I have been through life and death for you, and this wound has not yet fully healed. Did I suffer all this for nothing?"

Jiang Wei looked at Li Yuanji's anxious expression and couldn't help laughing out loud.

Li Yuanji realized that Jiang Wei was teasing him and breathed a sigh of relief, but he still came over and put his arm around Jiang Wei's shoulders: "No, you can't make such a joke. In my heart, you are the most important, and I don't allow you to think about others."

Jiang Wei leaned on Li Yuanji's shoulder and patted his hand gently: "I know, look how nervous you are. You are the only one in my heart, okay? But you have to tell me what you were laughing at just now, don't think you can just fool me."

Li Yuanji smiled shyly again and scratched his head: "Actually, I feel very happy just thinking that we can always be like this in the future, safe and happy together."

"You're lying." Jiang Wei narrowed her eyes slightly, a suspicious look appeared on her face, she stared straight at Li Yuanji, and said in a firm tone, "That's it, how can you be so happy?" She didn't believe that Li Yuanji's silly smile just now was just because of those words.

Li Yuanji was trying to pretend to be calm, but after being exposed by Jiang Wei, he panicked and couldn't pretend anymore. He laughed out loud. He scratched his head, his eyes were a little evasive, and he muttered, "I can't say this... I can't say this, I won't say it."

Jiang Wei frowned, her face full of distress. She shook her head gently and said, "It's so strange. Why can't I remember anything except the memories of you?" There was confusion in her eyes, as if she was trying hard to search for those lost fragments of memory.

After hearing this, Li Yuanji had a silly smile on his face, but his eyes were full of seriousness: "I swear to God, Jiang Wei, God is protecting you. I am telling you directly that I am your true love. You don't have time to think about anyone else." As he spoke, he gently held Jiang Wei's hand, trying to give her some comfort.

However, the more serious Li Yuanji was, the more doubts Jiang Wei felt.

She frowned slightly and fell into deep thought. She always had a feeling in her mind that she seemed to have forgotten a very important person and a crucial thing.

"I always feel like I have forgotten an important person or an important thing. Alas, I just can't remember it." Jiang Wei sighed helplessly, with a hint of anxiety in his eyes.

Li Yuanji looked at Jiang Wei's distressed expression and felt a little distressed. He gently hugged Jiang Wei into his arms and said softly, "Don't be too anxious. Maybe those memories are... not important to you. Now that I'm by your side, we can face the future together."

Jiang Wei leaned in Li Yuanji's arms. Although he felt a little comforted, the uneasiness in his heart could not be dispelled.

She prayed silently in her heart, hoping that those lost memories could be recovered soon so that she would no longer be so troubled.

"But I always feel that those things I have forgotten are really important to me. I'm afraid I will miss something if I can't remember them." Jiang Wei murmured to himself, with a hint of helplessness in his voice.

Li Yuanji patted Jiang Wei's back gently and said softly: "No matter what, I will be with you. If there is something important, it will always appear at the right time. Now, take a good rest and don't make yourself too tired."

Jiang Wei nodded, silently hoping that what Li Yuanji said was true, and that the mysterious memory could be unveiled soon.

The room was silent, with only the sound of gentle breathing echoing in the air. Li Yuanji sat beside the bed, staring at Jiang Wei's sleeping face quietly.

The dim light shone on her face, outlining a soft outline, but the furrowed brows made Li Yuanji full of worry.

He slowly stretched out his hand, his movements so gentle as if he was afraid to disturb Jiang Wei, and gently stroked her cheek.

When his fingertips touched the delicate skin, Li Yuanji felt a sour feeling in his heart.

He looked at Jiang Wei's brow and tried to smooth it out with his fingers, again and again, but no matter how hard he tried, the two wrinkles still stubbornly existed.

Li Yuanji's eyes were full of heartache. He wanted to wake Jiang Wei up so much and didn't want her to continue to be immersed in that dream that didn't seem so pleasant. She must be feeling very uncomfortable in that dream.

But as soon as he had this thought, he hesitated again.

What would happen even if I woke her up?

That person, that important person that Jiang Wei seemed to have forgotten but was thinking about subconsciously, will never come back.

Thinking of this, Li Yuanji's brows were tightly locked together, and he felt mixed emotions.

He sighed softly, withdrew his hand, leaned back in his chair, and still kept his eyes on Jiang Wei's face.

Li Yuanji just leaned quietly on the back of the chair. The dim light in the room shone softly on his face, reflecting his well-defined profile with a hint of fatigue and haggardness.

His gaze first fell on the lamp on the ceiling. He stared at the light emitted by the bulb with a somewhat empty look in his eyes, as if he was looking for some answer in the light.

After a while, he slowly shifted his gaze and looked out the window.

The watery moonlight spread in from the windowsill, sprinkled on the floor, forming a silvery light and shadow.

The bright moon hung high in the night sky, cold and lonely. Li Yuanji looked at the moon, with a myriad of thoughts in his mind.

The moonlight shone on him, stretching his shadow long across the floor.

He just sat there quietly, immersed in his own thoughts. Everything around him seemed to have stopped. Only the moonlight and the lights complemented each other, accompanying him through the long dark night.

He didn't know how long Jiang Wei's dream would last, nor did he know what he could do for her. He could only silently protect her in this quiet night, waiting for the arrival of dawn, hoping that Jiang Wei could free herself from her troubles and regain her former smile.

As the night deepened, the moonlight outside the window shone through the gaps in the curtains, adding a touch of coolness to the room.

Li Yuanji just sat there quietly, guarding Jiang Wei, and feeling the unspeakable sorrow and longing with her in this silent night.
