Reboot the heyday

Chapter 3577 Nostalgia for the Past

Sunlight streamed in through the window, casting warm dappled patterns on the floor.

The three of them sat in the living room, and the atmosphere was a little awkward.

Wang Taika was drinking coffee, Ji Eun was leaning against the sofa next to him, and Yoo In-na was sitting on a single sofa on the other side.

Ji-eun had completely given up struggling. She huddled in the corner of the sofa, covering her face with a cushion, only revealing her two bright red ears.

Wang Taika laughed even more unrestrainedly as he watched her. Liu Renna sat to the side, her eyes and brows full of amusement.

For no apparent reason, it turned into Wang Taika and Yoo In-na provoking Ji-eun together.

Ultimately, from a "bad" perspective, Wang Taika and Yoo In-na seem more like they're in cahoots.

"Alright, alright, I'm not teasing you anymore." Wang Taika reached out and pulled on Ji-eun's body pillow: "Come out, Ji-eun, don't suffocate."

"No!" Ji-eun's muffled voice came from behind the cushion: "Do you really think I can't see through you? I'm smart! You two are ganging up on me, I don't want to live anymore."

"Who's in cahoots?" Yoo In-na blinked innocently. "I was just going along with what Mr. Wang said."

"Look, he's even calling me Mr. Wang!" Ji-eun peeked out from behind the cushion: "You two are definitely up to something!"

Ji-eun-chan means that these two people planned this together to bully her.

But the two of them were genuinely guilty!

Holy crap, how did she know?
The air suddenly went silent for a second.

Wang Taika and Yoo In-na's eyes met briefly in mid-air before quickly looking away.

"What? What could possibly be wrong?" Wang Taika said nonchalantly, "Yoo In-na respects me, unlike some people who are always trying to get back at me. Didn't she promise to call me 'Oppa'? How come she's still a terrorist now?"

"That's because you are!" Ji-eun-chan fully emerged from behind the cushion, her hair disheveled and her cheeks flushed, but her eyes had regained their usual slyness: "Besides, unnie used to be very afraid of you, so there must be something wrong with her talking to you like this now."

Liu Renna's heart tightened, but she remained calm on the surface: "That's because I'm an artist under XB Entertainment now. No matter how fierce the boss is, he can't do anything to his own artists, right?"

Huh? Did I go off-topic? Was that what I asked?

Ji-eun looked at Yoo In-na suspiciously, then at Wang Tai-ka, feeling that something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Wang Taika changed the subject at the right moment: "Alright, stop overthinking. What do you want to eat tonight? It's on me."

"Shall we eat out?" Ji-eun blinked.

Wang Taika quickly replied, "Yes, order whatever you want to eat."

Ji-eun shook her head, tossed the cushion aside, and leaned closer to look at Wang Taika: "Don't go out to eat."

Wang Taika was stunned: "Huh?"

"I want to eat at home." Ji-eun's eyes brightened with a hint of nostalgia. "Besides, it's been so long since we went grocery shopping together. Let's go shopping together!"

Wang Taika was stunned.

Shopping at the supermarket.

That was a long time ago. Life was simple back then, like plain water, but those were the most precious memories in each other's hearts.

It was truly a wonderful memory, both for Wang Taika and Ji-eun.

Ji-eun has actually had many dreams, including those about that time. In the morning, the terrorists are cooking instant noodles in the kitchen, while she's in the attic playing guitar and writing songs, waiting for the terrorists to call her for breakfast. Even though the instant noodles they cook are awful...
Because Ji-eun had the disassembled toilet placed on the bed in the bedroom on the first floor, Wang Taika has been living on the sofa on the first floor.

It's a sofa, and it's also a living room.

Ji-eun will walk down the path step by step, listening to Wang Taika's nonsense, and interjecting at the right moment.

"Shut up, shut up."

It feels like such a distant memory, but Ji-eun can't forget it, and even misses it all the time.

Perhaps what we miss isn't the two of us back then, but rather the time we spent together. Even in the toughest times, thinking of each other brings warmth. "We haven't gone grocery shopping together in ages."

Ji-eun muttered this in a low voice, but Wang Taika heard it clearly.

My heart softened involuntarily.

Those days were truly unforgettable.

Thinking about it carefully, it wasn't particularly exciting; in fact, it was rather mundane. Their daily routine was quite simple: grocery shopping, cooking, her being a picky eater while he complained, occasionally watching TV together, bickering and making up.

Ji-eun would spend ages picking through the vegetables, examining each cabbage from all angles, and finally asking if it was fresh.

Wang Taika would pretend to tap it, then say the sound was alright, and the two of them would laugh foolishly.

Looking at Ji-eun before him, the girl who had grown from a naive young girl into the beautiful woman she was now, Wang Taika felt a surge of complex emotions. There was heartache, guilt, and a touch of indescribable bitterness.

Wang Taika knew he wasn't a good person; his life was a mess, and he couldn't give her the purest affection.

But Ji-eun never said it aloud; she just used these casual words to remind him of those best days.

Wang Taika reached out and gently patted Ji-eun's head, the movement was very light, yet it carried an indescribable tenderness.

"Okay, let's go to the supermarket."

"Mmm!" Ji-eun looked up, her eyes shining like stars.

Yoo In-na watched from the side, and strangely enough, she didn't feel jealous at all. Just looking at Ji-eun's expression made her want to oblige.

Although she had an affair with Wang Taika, it was all a series of unfortunate events, not a genuine choice. And she certainly didn't regret it.

But if she had to choose between the two, Yoo In-na would only choose Ji-eun's friendship. What does Wang Taika even matter?
Yoo In-na smiled gently and politely: "Then you guys go ahead, I'll wait at home. What would you like to eat? I'll prepare it first."

"Unnie, aren't you going?" Ji-eun asked.

"Me, go be a third wheel? You probably don't really want me to go either, do you?" Yoo In-na teased.

Ji-eun pouted, saying one thing but meaning another: "No way!"

Liu Renna smiled and waved her hand: "You two go ahead, I can take a break. Go quickly."

Ji-eun hesitated for a moment, but was ultimately pulled up by Wang Tai-la.

The two changed clothes and went out fully disguised. Ji-eun wore a hat and mask, revealing only her eyes, and walked next to Wang Taika like a kitten that had sneaked out.

The supermarket wasn't far, so we chose to walk. The evening breeze was a bit chilly, and Ji-eun tucked her hands into her sleeves, occasionally stealing a glance at Wang Taika.

"What are you looking at?" Wang Taika asked.

"Let's see if you've changed at all." Ji-eun said in a serious tone, "Have you become uglier? If you have, I don't want you anymore."

Wang Taika laughed: "And the result?"

Ji-eun-chan chuckled and said, "It's still the same. Terrorists just look like they deserve a beating."

Wang Taika reached out to pat her head, but she dodged him.

"I knew it! He's keeping an eye on you, you terrorist!" Ji-eun said smugly. "Don't move around, or you'll mess up your hairstyle."

Wang Taika was speechless: "No, you're wearing a hat, what's all this fuss about?"

"That won't do either!" Ji-eun said, "From now on, besides shutting up, you also have to stop hitting! Stop hitting, you terrorist."

Wang Taika said, "Stop! Stop! That's where you pee! Have you heard that dirty joke?"

Ji-eun was furious: "Shut up! Shut up! You terrorist!"

The two walked hand in hand in the night, bickering. (End of Chapter)
