Reboot the heyday

Chapter 3588 represents one of my friends.

"Let me think about how to do it."

Wang Taika went into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator to take a look.

I still have a lot of groceries left from last night, including vegetables and beef. I thought about it and decided to cook some porridge, make some soup, and stir-fry a simple dish.

Ji-eun was definitely not going to sit back and enjoy the fruits of others' labor. She got up and followed him into the kitchen, leaning against the doorframe as she watched Wang Taika work.

Well, just standing there and watching doesn't count as reaping the benefits without sowing.

Wang Taika put on an apron, which Ji-eun had bought for him. It had a cartoon cat printed on it, which was quite ugly but unique. Then he started working. He rinsed rice, chopped vegetables, and heated soup. His movements weren't exactly skilled, but they weren't clumsy either.

"Haven't you cooked in a long time?" Ji-eun asked.

"Yeah, I've already forgotten," Wang Taika said without turning his head.

Ji-eun laughed: "Then do it more often in the future."

"It depends on your performance."

Ji-eun snorted and didn't say anything more. She just leaned against the door frame and watched Wang Taika busy himself in the kitchen.

The morning light streamed in through the window, falling on Wang Taika's shoulders and casting a soft golden hue over his features.

Ji-eun suddenly felt that she wanted to spend her whole life having a morning like this.

Neither of them spoke, quietly enjoying the morning.

The porridge was cooked quickly, and Wang Taika ladled out two bowls and brought them to the table. The seaweed soup was also ready, bubbling away. Finally, he stir-fried some greens; although they didn't look particularly appealing, they were very fresh.

Ji-eun took the kimchi out of the refrigerator, then put it back with an embarrassed expression.

Wang Taika glanced at it and said helplessly, "If it's broken, just throw it away. Why put it back?"

"It's so embarrassing that you saw this." Ji-eun grinned and threw the boxes of kimchi into the trash can. "Don't blame me, I haven't been back for a long time. I've been too busy."

“I know,” Wang Taika said, both amused and exasperated.

Ji-eun sat down, scooped up a spoonful of porridge, blew on it, and put it in her mouth.

"How is it?" Wang Taika asked.

Ji-eun chewed, swallowed, and said expressionlessly, "It's alright."

Wang Taika raised an eyebrow: "Just average?"

Ji-eun scooped up another spoonful, this time blowing on it briefly before putting it directly into her mouth. She winced from the heat, but still refused to spit it out. She mumbled, "Because I'm hungry, everything tastes good."

Wang Taika reached out and pinched Zhi En's cheek: "Say that again?"

"It's not just good, it's incredibly good! Ah-go, let me finish." Ji-eun grinned, dodging Wang Taika's strange hand.

Wang Taika couldn't help but laugh when he saw Ji-eun's stubborn expression.

The two ate breakfast in silence. Occasionally their chopsticks would clink together, or their eyes would meet, before they would look away as if nothing had happened.

After the meal, Ji-eun offered to wash the dishes.

Of course, even if you don't ask for it, that's part of Ji-eun's job.

Wang Taika is indeed very doting on her in general, but he can be quite calculating in many details. The reason is simple: if no one is calculating, is it still a relationship? How meaningless! If a relationship is just one-sided unconditional pampering, it will never last, and may even become unhealthy.

Noisy arguments are part of life. So Wang Taika didn't argue with Ji-eun, but leaned against the kitchen door frame, looking at her the way she had looked at him earlier.

"Work hard!" Wang Taika reminded him.

"You're so annoying."

Ji-eun knew Wang Taika was doing it on purpose. She had originally wanted to help, but Wang Taika's words had stirred up her rebellious streak. Wang Taika laughed, "I'm not just your average annoying person."

Ji-eun pouted, then bent down and washed the bowls very carefully, rinsing each one inside and out several times before drying them with a cloth and neatly arranging them on the shelf.

There wasn't much stuff to begin with, so it was done quickly.

After washing the dishes, Ji-eun dried her hands, turned around, and looked at Wang Taika. The two stood two steps apart, neither of them moving.

“Terrorists,” Ji-eun suddenly said.

"Ah."

Are you busy today?

Wang Taika thought for a moment. The team was handling things with Function, Duck King was dealing with the final touches at Samsung, and he didn't need to personally handle the logistics company for the time being. Theoretically, he was free today.

“No,” Wang Taika said. “At least not yet.”

Ji-eun's eyes lit up for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure and asked casually, "Then will you stay with me today?"

Wang Taika smiled and said, "Okay."

"Just okay?" Ji-eun was not satisfied with this answer.

“Very good.” Wang Taika readily agreed.

"That's more like it." Ji-eun pursed her lips, a smile that she couldn't hide spilling from the corner of her eyes.

“But it depends on the specifics,” Wang Taika said. “If they’re taking me with them to work, then I’ll most likely have something to do today.”

"You stinking terrorist, when have I ever mistreated you?" Ji-eun pursed her lips and said, "I want to see a movie. Come with me to see a movie. Come to think of it, it's been many years since I've seen a movie."

Wang Taika laughed and said, "It can't be that bad. Although we don't think we've ever gone to see it together, don't you ever go with friends?"

"Where would I find the time? I'd rather sleep than spend two hours like that," Ji-eun said. "Let's go together this time, but we have to pick a really bad movie."

Wang Taika asked in surprise, "Why?"

Ji-eun's tone carried a hint of anticipation: "Let's buy popcorn and cola, sit in the last row where there aren't many people, and we can chat casually without disturbing others. Only a bad movie can make people not care about the plot. If it's a good movie, I won't pay attention to you. If you secretly kiss me halfway through, I'll be annoyed to death."

What kind of thought process is this? Wang Taika said helplessly, "Although it seems to make some sense, it is also completely illogical."

Ji-eun laughed: "What tongue twister are you talking about?"

Wang Taika raised an eyebrow: "How did you know I would secretly kiss you?"

"Because you're a terrorist," Ji-eun said matter-of-factly. "What kind of terrorist would you be if you didn't do bad things?"

Wang Taika was defeated by her logic, shaking his head with a wry smile: "Fine, let's watch a movie. I'll just book the whole theater, it's no big deal. But I admit there's some truth to the 'bad movie' argument. By the way, do you have any films coming out soon?"

"I'll kill you, you terrorist!" Ji-eun was furious.

Wang Taika really wanted to shout "murder your husband!" but felt it was too cheesy and a tired trope, so he changed it to: "murder your father!"

It was just a joke, but I regretted it as soon as I said it. Because after a brief moment of confusion, Ji-eun shouted it even louder this time.

"Terrorist, you're really going to die!"

"Huh? You don't have to shut up this time?"

"Shut up, shut up!"

"Hahaha!" (End of Chapter)
