Chapter 3589 Not Leaving a Memento for My Future Self

The two changed their clothes and went out.

Ji-eun was dressed casually today, wearing jeans, a white T-shirt, a baseball cap, and a mask, covering herself up completely.

Honestly, Ji-eun's personal fashion sense is a bit lacking.

Wang Taika hasn't changed much; he still has that casual and lazy look.

You definitely can't go to a public movie theater; those are all people of status, what if someone recognizes you?

Wang Taika found a private cinema, which turned out to be located in an office building in Jiangnan. It was very secluded and the environment was quite nice.

Upon arrival, the staff led them into a private screening room. It wasn't large, with only about twenty seats, but the seats were comfortable, adjustable, and there were small tables for snacks.

"It's not what I imagined." Ji-eun looked around again.

Wang Taika laughed and said, "You're really planning to squeeze in with other people to go to the movies?"

Ji-eun thought for a moment and nodded: "That's true."

"What movie do you want to watch?" Wang Taika asked.

Ji-eun shook her head: "I don't know, whatever, you choose."

"You want me to choose? What I choose might not be what you want to see." Wang Taika didn't actually have any particular preferences.

"It's okay, the important thing is to watch it together, not what we're watching." Ji-eun said, her eyes fixed on the popcorn: "Do you have low-sugar popcorn?"

"Just eat it," Wang Taika laughed.

He scrolled through the list but didn't find anything he liked. Wang Taika randomly picked a well-received romance film. Not because he liked romance films, but because the atmosphere was right for it.

The lights dimmed, and the movie began.

There were only Wang Taika and Zhi En in the theater. The huge screen was filled with light and shadow, which made the whole space appear to be in a dim and bright color.

Ji-eun leaned on Wang Taika's shoulder, eating popcorn while watching a movie. Every now and then, she would reach into the popcorn bucket, grab a handful, and stuff it into her mouth, chewing with a "crunch crunch" sound.

Wang Taika wanted to laugh, feeling like a little mouse was living next to him. He glanced down at Ji-eun, whose profile was illuminated by the screen light, her eyelashes were long, her nose was straight, and there was a bit of popcorn crumb on her lips.

"You like this feeling?" Wang Taika reached out and gently wiped the crumbs from the corner of Ji-eun's mouth with his thumb.

Ji-eun paused for a moment, then whispered, "What are you doing?"

"I'll wipe your mouth for you," Wang Taika said matter-of-factly.

"I can wipe it myself."

"You didn't wipe it clean."

Ji-eun pursed her lips and didn't argue anymore, but she shrank closer to Wang Taika.

Halfway through the movie, there was a kissing scene. The male and female leads on screen were embracing and kissing passionately, with soothing piano music playing in the background.

Wang Taika lowered his head and whispered in Ji Eun's ear, "Didn't you just say you wanted me to sneak a kiss on you?"

Ji-eun held the popcorn bucket high, covering her face: "Can't we just watch the movie in peace?"

It's funny, really. We've been together for so long, and our relationship is still full of bickering. Although time has made us less reserved with each other, we haven't become emotionally numb because of it.

Many couples, after being together for a long time, even find kissing a hassle. But Ji-eun-chan feels her heart races every time she kisses someone.

It might be because they spend so little time together, but the bigger reason is probably that this feeling of attraction has never faded. Although Wang Taika isn't a great person, he never gets tiresome.

Wang Taika then laughed and said, "If I kiss you now, would that count as a sneak attack?"

"Yes! And it was a terrorist attack!"

Wang Taika laughed, reaching out to remove the popcorn bucket, revealing Ji-eun's face. She glared at him, her eyes filled with embarrassment, nervousness, and a hint of barely concealed anticipation.

"I am a terrorist!"

"Terrorist, if you dare!"

Before Ji-eun could finish speaking, Wang Taika had already leaned down and kissed her. She instantly gave up resisting, closed her eyes, and slowly tightened her grip on Wang Taika's clothes. The theater was quiet, with only the sound of the movie continuing. The male and female leads on screen had finished kissing and started the next dialogue, but no one paid attention to what they were saying.

After a long time, or perhaps not long, Wang Taika let go.

Ji-eun opened her eyes: "Okay, let's do it again."

"You wish!" Wang Taika laughed.

"You always foul first." Ji-eun paused, buried her face in Wang Taika's chest, and said in a muffled voice, "But I don't hate it."

Wang Taika hugged Ji-eun, resting his chin on the top of her head, and smelled the faint scent of shampoo on her hair.

The movie on the screen continued, but neither of them was interested in watching it. They just held each other quietly.

The movie ended, and the lights came on.

Ji-eun sat up from Wang Taika's lap, rubbed her eyes, and yawned. The popcorn bucket was empty, and she had drunk most of her cola.

"Is it pretty?" Wang Taika asked.

Ji-eun thought for a moment and said, "I don't know, I didn't watch the second half."

Wang Taika asked knowingly, "So what are you doing?"

Ji-eun glared at Wang Taika, didn't answer, stood up and stretched: "Let's go, I'm hungry."

Are you hungry again?

"Yeah, watching movies takes up energy."

Wang Taika laughed: "What physical exertion did you expend watching the movie?"

"Thinking," Ji-eun said matter-of-factly. "I've been thinking about where the plot is going, it's exhausting, you know."

Wang Taika, too lazy to expose her, stood up, picked up his coat, and asked, "What do you want to eat?"

"casual."

"Again, just whatever?"

"Let's not go out to eat, let's go home." Ji-eun pursed her lips: "Tonight, I'll give you a reward. I was too tired yesterday and couldn't take care of you at all. But I know you must have missed it."

Wang Taika pretended to be cross-eyed: "What are you saying? I don't understand."

Ji-eun pinched Wang Taika's arm: "If you don't want it, I want it! Hmph, you're not short of ambiguous relationships, are you? A person has two kidneys, you give one to everyone, and save the other one for f(x)...uh-huh."

Wang Taika quickly covered Ji-eun's mouth: "Don't talk nonsense! And how the hell did you learn the Chinese slang 'kidney'? Who taught you that?"

Ji-eun pulled Wang Taika's hand away and said, "You taught me this! Fine, I'll change my mind. We'll split these two kidneys, but you still have a third hidden kidney, mmm."

She covered her mouth again, which infuriated Wang Taika. Wasn't this just spreading rumors and slandering someone's innocence? Was he really that kind of person?
The two walked out of the theater amidst their bickering. A staff member politely escorted them to the elevator. While waiting, Ji-eun suddenly leaned close to Wang Tai-ka's ear and whispered, "Terrorist."

"Hmm? What outrageous things are you going to say this time?"

No, I'm very happy today.

Wang Taika turned to look at Ji-eun: "Me too."

The elevator arrived, and the two stepped inside. The door closed, and their shadows, standing side by side, were reflected in the mirror.

Looking at herself and Wang Taika in the mirror, Ji-eun suddenly said, "Terrorist, it seems like we've never taken a proper photo together."

Wang Taika thought about it and realized it was true. They had been together for so long and gone through so much, yet they didn't even have a single formal photo together.

It's not just with Ji-eun; Wang Taika seems to have a natural aversion to taking photos with others.

“It seems so,” Wang Taika said suddenly with a touch of melancholy, “I’m worried that these photos will become memories after we lose them in the future.”

"So I don't want to leave my future self with the torment of accidentally stumbling upon this and suddenly feeling a pang of fear." (End of Chapter)
