Chapter 5142-5145 [A Fierce Battle]

Dr. Poison, Isabelle Maru, is portrayed as Wonder Woman's adversary in the comics. She doesn't possess superpowers, but she has extensive knowledge of plagues, toxins, and poisons.

In the manga, she is a princess of Japan, a fanatical communist, and appears during World War II. The film, however, places her during World War I.

The biological weapon she was researching was mustard gas. This gas was so potent that even gas masks could not protect against it. Therefore, once released, it would kill thousands of people instantly.

Therefore, in order to stop Dr. Maru's research, Steve secretly stole Dr. Maru's research notes during her private conversation with General Ludendorff.

However, his actions were discovered by Dr. Maru, which led to him being pursued by the German army and accidentally ending up on Paradise Island.

“If I can get this notebook to British intelligence in time, I can save millions of lives and the war will end,” Xiang Nan said, looking at the Amazons.

"War? What war?" Diana asked, puzzled.

"Please, you must let me leave. This notebook must be sent back to British intelligence to prevent the deaths of millions of people. Please," Xiang Nan pleaded with the Amazons.

"Take him away to heal his wounds first," the Amazonian queen ordered.

So Xiang Nan was taken away.

Xiang Nan was taken to a place that looked like a medical clinic.

On his way from the council hall to the medical clinic, Xiang Nan noticed many Amazons staring at him curiously, as if he were some kind of magical creature.

This is understandable, after all, the Amazons have lived in seclusion for thousands of years and this is the first time they have seen a real man.

Upon arriving at the clinic, a woman examined Xiang Nan's wound and said, "Don't worry, you only have a superficial injury, it will heal easily."

"Thank you." Xiang Nan nodded.
The woman then took out several herbs, crushed them, applied them to his wound, and wrapped them with coarse linen. Afterward, she led him to a cave.

There are several pools in the cave, the water of which is blue and constantly gushes out.

"Take off your clothes and soak in the pool; the water will quickly heal your injuries," the woman said, before walking out.

"Thank you," Xiang Nan said to her. After she left, he took off his clothes and entered the pool.

Sure enough, after immersing himself in water, he felt a tingling, numb, itchy, and painful sensation at the wound site. He used his X-ray vision to see that the wounds were indeed healing rapidly.

"It seems this pool is also a miracle," Xiang Nan guessed upon seeing it.

While he was taking a bath, he sensed that Diana was arguing with her mother, the Amazonian queen.

“Mother, should we let him go?” Diana asked.

"What, so that he can bring back more men?" one general retorted.

“We cannot detain him indefinitely, Your Majesty,” another general retorted.

Detaining a man on the island for an extended period is dangerous, as invaders are inherently a threat to native species. However, killing him violates the principles of the Amazons, whose creation was intended to guide people towards good.

Therefore, unless humans attack the Amazons first, they cannot attack humans proactively. Since Xiang Nan has already been captured, he cannot be killed.

They couldn't keep him alive, nor could they kill him; it seemed there was no other option but to let him go.

“Mother, please listen to me. The things that man said must have been done by Ares…” Diana said to the Queen.

"What are you talking about, my child?" the Queen asked, puzzled.

“The man said it was an endless war, that millions had died, and that he had never seen anything like it,” Diana explained. “Only Ares could do something like this. We should not only let him go, but we should go with him.”

"I will not send my people to fight for them while leaving Nintendo Island undefended," the Queen immediately refused upon hearing this.

“This is not their war,” Diana emphasized. “The humans created by Zeus are just, wise, strong, and passionate…”

“That’s just a story,” the Queen interrupted her. “There are many things you don’t understand. Humans are actually quite evil.”

Long ago, the Amazons were created by the gods to guide humanity back to the right path and restore their inherent goodness and justice. However, humanity, coveting the Amazons' beauty and power, turned against them and enslaved them.

Finally, the Amazon queen raised the banner of rebellion and, under the protection of the gods, escaped human slavery and returned to Paradise Island, where she lived in seclusion. Therefore, the Amazon queen did not like humans at all.

“That’s right. But it was all Ares’s doing,” Diana continued, trying to persuade her. “It was Ares who instigated the Germans to start the war. And it is our mission to stop the god of war; as Amazons, it is our duty!”

“But you are different from us Amazons, so you must not do anything,” the Queen refused again. “As Queen, I will not allow it.”

But Diana did not listen to her mother; her eyes were resolute, clearly indicating that she had other plans.

A moment later, Diana arrived at the cave where Xiang Nan was taking a bath.

Xiang Nan then stood up, completely naked.

"I'm sorry, I didn't see you come in," he said hurriedly, covering his genitals.

Diana, however, did not show any shyness or embarrassment on her face. Instead, she observed carefully with curiosity and doubt.

Seeing this, Xiang Nan also let go of his hand.

"Do all men look like this?" Diana asked curiously.

"I... am better than the average person," Xiang Nan said confidently.

"What is that?" Diana asked curiously.

“Oh, this is my…my watch,” Xiang Nan said, picking up the watch that was placed on the stone.

"What is it used for?" Diana asked, puzzled.

“It can tell the time,” Xiang Nan explained. “It was a gift from my father. This watch went through thick and thin with him, and now it’s in my hands. Fortunately, it’s still running.”

"What's the use of that?" Diana still didn't understand.
