Chapter 5143-5146 [Leaving Paradise Island]

"It can tell you the time, when to sleep, eat, get up, and work..." Xiang Nan explained.

"You let this little thing tell you what to do?" Diana asked in surprise, as this was the first time she had ever heard of such a thing.

"Yes," Xiang Nan nodded, taking the opportunity to put on his clothes. "Can I ask you some questions?"

“Of course.” Diana nodded.

"Where exactly is this place?" Xiang Nan asked.

“Paradise Island,” Diana replied.

“Yes, we are the Amazons, and maintaining world peace is our sacred mission,” Diana nodded. “But my mother won’t allow it.”

“Actually, you can’t blame her.” Xiang Nan sighed. “If the war continues like this, I don’t want the people I care about to get close to the battlefield.”

"If that's the case, then why do you still want to go back?" Diana asked, puzzled.

“It’s not that I want to go back, but that I have to go back; it’s my mission,” Xiang Nan explained. “My father once told me that if you find something wrong in this world, you either choose to stand by and do nothing, or you choose to take action. I have already stood by and done nothing.”

Hearing Xiang Nan say this, Diana was deeply moved.

After leaving the cave, Diana went to the armory on Paradise Island.

She intends to retrieve the God-Slaying Sword, the Divine Power Shield, the Lasso of Truth, and other treasures from there, and then take Xiang Nan to the battlefield to kill Ares, the God of War, and finally end this protracted war.

The Godslayer Sword is said to be a divine weapon forged by Hephaestus, the god of fire. It is incredibly sharp and capable of subatomic-level slashes.

After obtaining all the items, Diana was about to leave. But as she passed the armor section, she saw a very beautiful suit of armor on the shelf.

Her eyes lit up immediately, and she changed out of her armor. Dressed in her new clothes, she returned to the cave where Xiang Nan was imprisoned.

Xiang Nan had sensed her arrival long ago, so he pretended to be using a compass and map to calculate the location of Paradise Island.

“Come with me.” Diana then led Xiang Nan to the shore of Paradise Island, where an old-fashioned sailboat was moored.

"So I'll just ride it?" Xiang Nan asked.

“It’s us, I’ll go with you,” Diana corrected. “Can you row a boat?”

“Of course.” Xiang Nan nodded. “As an intelligence agent, there is almost nothing I am not good at.”

He immediately boarded the ship and began to arrange the sails and ropes. Xiang Nan was extremely familiar with sailing.

But just then, the sound of horses' hooves was heard.

Xiang Nan looked up and saw the Amazon Queen leading a troop of Amazon cavalry galloping towards him.

“I must go, Mother,” Diana said resolutely to the Queen. “Innocent people are dying, and I cannot stand idly by. If no one can stand against Ares, then I must step forward.”

“I know I can’t stop you,” the Amazonian queen nodded. “But child, you still have so much to learn.”

“I’ve learned enough,” Diana said, shaking her head. “I’m willing to fight for those who can’t protect themselves, just like you did.”

"You know, if you choose to leave, you may never come back," the Amazonian queen said sadly.

“But what use would it be for me to stay?” Diana asked.

When she learned that over twenty million people had died in the outside world, she knew she could no longer stand idly by. Someone had to stop Ares's evil deeds, or the human world might be destroyed.

“Very well.” Seeing her daughter’s resolute attitude, the Amazon queen decided to let go. She then took out a headdress, “This headdress once belonged to Asteria, our greatest Amazon warrior, to ensure that I am worthy of her.”

Asteria is the greatest Amazonian warrior in history. After the Amazons were enslaved by humans, the Amazon queen led her people in a fight back and escaped to Paradise Island.

To buy her people time to escape, Asteria resolutely chose to cover their retreat. For this, she was revered by all the Amazonian warriors.

In Wonder Woman 1984, there's a statue of Asteria on Themyscira, and she even appears in the post-credits scene. It turns out she didn't die, but has been protecting humanity all along.
