Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones

Chapter 266 "Suitable"

Chapter 266 "Suitable"

Just as they were going up, a door on the second-floor platform opened, and a face emerged from it. The person wore glasses with horn rims and had an impatient expression.

"Hello, Percy," said Harry.

"Hello, Prefect," Tierra greeted politely.

“Oh, hello, it’s you, Harry,” Percy replied politely.

"Hello, Tierra." For some reason, Percy suddenly became serious when facing Tierra, as if he were facing an equal peer or a higher-ranking superior.

“Tiera, I wonder if you have time? I’d like to talk to you about something—” Percy said somewhat awkwardly.

“No, he didn’t,” Ron interrupted, then quickly pushed Tyella and Harry upstairs, with Ginny and Hermione following behind.

“He’s been talking about it all summer,” Ron said. “I mean, even after he got the job at the Ministry of Magic, he was still talking about it. He’s been hoping that your father… your adoptive father… Gilderoy Lockhart could write him a letter of recommendation.”

“In the end, even his mother got a little impatient with his nagging,” Ginny added. “His mother scolded him, and Percy finally stopped.”

“Mom said he was shameless,” Ron said, “and forbade him from talking about it in front of you.”

After climbing three more floors, they finally arrived at Ron's room.

Even though they had closed the door, they could still seem to hear shouts coming from the kitchen below.

Mr. Weasley seems to have already told Mrs. Weasley about the toffee.

The penthouse room where Ron sleeps is almost identical to the one Tiera stayed in last time she visited.

Posters of Ron’s favorite Quidditch team, the Chadli Flames, were still plastered everywhere, with the players flying around on the walls and sloping ceilings, waving incessantly.

The goldfish bowl still sits on the windowsill, which used to contain frog eggs, but now it houses a frighteningly large frog.

Ron's old mouse, Peter Pettigrew, who used to bathe and sleep with him day and night, is gone. In its place is a gray little owl, hopping around in a small cage, chirping incessantly.

This is a gift from Sirius Black to Ron. He seems to have once again taken on the role of an older brother, shouldering all of Peter Pettigrew's mistakes.

Therefore, he felt obligated to compensate Ron with a new pet.

"Shut up, you little pig," Ron snapped impatiently, squeezing between the two beds. There were five beds in the room, packed full.

“Fred and George are staying here with us too, because Bill and Charlie have taken up their rooms,” Ron said. “Percy insists on having a room all by himself because he has to work.”

“Bill and Charlie are Ron’s older brothers,” Harry explained to Tyella. “Bill is Gringotts’ curse breaker, responsible for finding Gringotts’ treasure and breaking the curses on it.”

“He’s a Gryffindor prefect and head of the student council, just like Percy, but I swear, he’s the coolest guy I’ve ever met,” Harry said. “You’ll see when you meet him at dinner.”

"Charlie was studying dragons in Romania and was two years younger than Bill."

“He’s cool too,” Harry added.

Tierra nodded, indicating that she understood.

"By the way, how was your summer vacation? Was Paris fun? What's Nicolas Lemay like? Is he easy to get along with?" Harry asked. "Quick, tell us about it!"

“Paris is beautiful, but I haven’t gone out much…” Thiella said. “I’ve been studying alchemy in Nicholas Lemaire’s alchemy hut.”

"You studied alchemy with Nicholas Flamel!" Hermione's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. "You actually studied alchemy with Nicholas Flamel?"

Hermione repeated it again in a voice that contained envy, jealousy, and displeasure.

“Of course,” Tierra said. “Because Nicholas Lemaire thought I was very talented, he taught me a few moves as a bonus.”

"Cool!" Ron shouted. "That's so cool!"

“What can you make?” Harry asked. “I was just about to tell you.” Tyrell smiled mysteriously, then opened her suitcase—

They took out a pair of glasses from the seamless extension box and handed them to Harry.

“I’m sorry, Harry, I realize I haven’t given you any gifts before,” Tyella said apologetically. “Here, this is your birthday present this year. Happy birthday.”

"Thank you... What, what is this?" Harry asked, somewhat flattered.

“Glasses…here, put them on, um, then touch this, it magnifies, touch this again, it can be used as a microscope…um, right, then touch this part of the frame here, it can be used as a telescope.” Tierra instructed Harry.

"That's so cool!" Harry shouted. "That's so cool!"

“There are even cooler ones.” Tierra smiled and lightly tapped the bridge of the nose between the two frames.

Harry's vision was suddenly filled with countless tiny, flying points of light.

“What is this… what is this?” Harry asked.

“This is dynamic capture vision,” Tierra explained. “It helps you instantly capture objects moving at high speeds in mid-air.”

"That's so cool!" Harry exclaimed excitedly. "Wait... then..."

“That’s right.” Tierra smiled knowingly. “It’s all for the purpose of capturing the Golden Snitch.”

"That's so cool!" Ron shouted along with him. "We're definitely going to win Quidditch from now on!"

“Wait, isn’t this cheating?” Hermione suddenly interjected. “This is cheating, isn’t it?”

“I won’t say anything as long as you don’t tell,” Tierra said with a shrug. “It was supposed to come with a watch that could send paralysis needles and a pair of shoes that could kick a person’s skull apart… but Professor Dumbledore said they were too dangerous and confiscated them.”

“It’s alright, Tierra,” Harry reassured her. “I’m very happy with these glasses. Thank you, Tierra!”

“But that’s still cheating!” Hermione said. “If you’re caught, you’ll both be expelled!”

“Dumbledore wouldn’t want to fire us both,” Tyella said. “Oh, and Hermione, I have a gift for you too.”

"For me?" Hermione asked, somewhat flattered, seemingly unable to believe it. "Why are you giving me a gift?"

“It’s nothing, I just think this suits you well,” Tiera said, taking out a large staff that was taller than a person from the box.

“This is called Gandalf’s Staff,” Tiera explained. “It’s a very practical weapon. You just need to rush up to the enemy, raise the staff, slam it heavily on the ground, or shout—”

"You shall not pass!"

The staff instantly emitted an extremely dazzling and brilliant white light.

Caught off guard, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny suddenly saw stars flashing before their eyes.

“You can make the other person temporarily blind for a few seconds,” Tiera said. “Then you can raise your staff and smash it to death. I’ve also enchanted this staff with increased strength, so you only need half the strength you used to smash Malfoy’s skull to break someone’s skull.”

With that, Tyella handed the staff to Hermione.

Hermione took it too, looked at the staff, then at Tyella—

“Then Tiera,” Hermione asked, then gripped the middle of the staff like a baseball bat and gently tapped her left palm with the gem at the top of the staff.

“Then Tierra,” Hermione said again, “tell me, what makes you think it’s appropriate to give a girl something like this?”
