Harry read the parchment three times, and with each reading, his breathing calmed a little.

All was well: he always knew he would fail the divination exam, and he also knew he couldn't pass the History of Magic exam because he had given up halfway through.

But he excelled in everything else! His fingers traced patterns on the parchment… his transfiguration and herbalism were both good, and he even exceeded expectations in potions!
Best of all, he got an excellent score in Defense Against the Dark Arts!

He glanced to the side; Hermione had her back to him, her head bowed, but Ron looked happy.

“Only Divination and History of Magic failed, but who cares about those?” he said happily to Harry. “Come on, let’s switch!”

Harry glanced down at Ron's score: No excellent...

“I knew you’d get top marks in Defense Against the Dark Arts,” Ron said, grabbing Harry’s shoulder. “We did a great job, didn’t we?”

"Um... Hermione... what about you?" Harry asked cautiously.

"Me? Oh... I, I'm alright..." Hermione said softly, "I—"

"Oh, come on, here you go." Ron said, casually reaching out and snatching her report card. "Oh, ten excellent grades and one Defense Against the Dark Arts, exceeding expectations."

Ron looked down at her and said, half-jokingly and half-annoyed, "You're disappointed, aren't you?"

Hermione shook her head, but Harry laughed—

He didn't know what he was laughing at, but for a moment just now, Harry seemed to have suddenly rediscovered that old feeling, that carefree feeling.

"What is this?" It was only then that Hermione noticed that in addition to her report card, there was another neatly folded piece of paper inside the envelope.

If you exceed the score requirements of the University of New Miscatorium in all subjects in each examination, you will receive an admission letter from the University of New Miscatorium.

Wizards whose immediate family members within three generations have no record of malicious harm or major theft can be admitted to New Miscatornik University with an admission letter and transcripts of A or higher in all subjects of the Advanced Wizarding Level Examinations (NEWTs).
