Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 61 That Distant Hometown That Can Never Be Revisited
Chapter 61 That Distant Hometown I Can Never Return To
After chatting with Voldemort for a while, Tyra quietly returned to her dormitory.
With Tyrell's feigned sadness and indignation through Occlumency, Voldemort quickly believed it.
Not only did he believe it, but he also thought that his scheme had an unexpected effect—it must have been his love spell that brought Tiera into trouble with unwanted romantic advances.
This made Tierra even more reliant on her laptop after experiencing the life of being adored and fawned over.
Voldemort's conjecture was exactly what Tyrell meant.
Arrogance was Voldemort's fatal weakness.
Even a genius like Voldemort could not imagine how much power a first-year wizard like Tyrell possessed that he could not comprehend.
Therefore, even though Voldemort always felt that Tyrell's state and behavior were very strange, he never made the connection that Tyrell's eleven-year-old body housed the soul of a woman in her thirties.
It also has a library of dark magic.
After a brief struggle with Voldemort, Tyella successfully got Voldemort to cast a Warming Charm on her, effectively exhausting Voldemort's last bit of power.
After that, Tyrell was satisfied and quietly placed the Invisibility Cloak by Harry's bedside before climbing into bed to sleep.
"Tierra?" Tierra had just lain down in bed when she saw Harry sit up and softly call her name.
"Harry, you're still awake?" Tyella turned over after pulling the covers over herself, facing Harry in the darkness.
“Well, I was a little worried about you,” Harry said. “How did it go? Did you find it? Did you find Nicolas Flamel?”
“No.” Tierra sighed, feigning disappointment.
"Don't be disappointed, I'll go check it out tomorrow," Harry comforted him.
“Well, goodnight, Harry,” Tyella said.
Goodnight, Tierra.
Harry said that.
But around 12:30 a.m., Tyrell, who had been reading "Occlumency: How to Disguise Your Brain" with her fingers in bed, could clearly hear Harry turn over and get out of bed.
Because of the effects of the Heris potion, Tiera found it increasingly difficult to fall asleep. So, to relax her body and avoid boredom, Tiera simply started reading a book with her hands, which were blessed by "knowledge".
After listening to Harry rustling as he put on the Invisibility Cloak, Tierra sighed inwardly, quickly tossed the book aside, relaxed her body, slowed her breathing, and pretended to be fast asleep.
Tyella felt Harry quietly approach his bedside. In the darkness, Harry seemed to stare at Tyella for a while before tiptoeing out of the bedroom.
After hearing that Harry had indeed gone far away, Tyrell finally let out a sigh of relief. He knew that Harry would never behave himself.
If he got an invisibility cloak and didn't wear it out for a stroll that very night, he wouldn't be James Porter's son.
But it didn't matter; Tiera had already obtained enough potion ingredients, and even acquired several books on dark magic. These potions and books would keep him busy with his research for a while.
He no longer needed Harry's invisibility cloak, at least until he started brewing the Herrith Reagent.
However, not long after, Tiera heard the sound of climbing stairs, and then felt someone bump into his blanket.
"Tierra, Tierra, wake up, Tierra, wake up!" Tierra heard Harry's deliberately hushed voice calling out.
"What's wrong, Harry?" Tyella pretended to be sleepy as she got out of bed, secretly slipping her copy of "Occlumency: How to Disguise Your Brain" into the rumpled blankets Harry had made a mess of.
"Tierra! I see a mirror!" Harry exclaimed excitedly. "I see my parents in the mirror!"
It is the Mirror of Eris.
Tiera, who was familiar with the plot, immediately realized it.
“Come on, Tyella, come on, I’ll take you to see my parents.” Harry excitedly grabbed Tyella’s hand.
“Harry, you need to know, all of this…” Tyella stopped mid-sentence, then changed her words, “Okay, let me get dressed. Should we wake Ron and ask him to come with us?”
Tierra suddenly remembered that Harry's memory of learning the Patronus Charm in his third year was based on the family portrait scene in the Mirror of Erised.
Hmm... it's best not to shatter this fantasy yet... after all, there's a difference between pouring cold water on him on the spot and pouring cold water on him after he's realized what's going on.
While Tierra was getting dressed, Harry woke Ron again. The three young wizards, dressed in pajamas and simple wizarding robes, quietly strolled through Hogwarts in the dead of night, using an invisibility cloak as a shield.
"This is it! This is it! That's right!" After wandering around the cold stairwell for almost half an hour, Harry finally pushed open the door.
Behind the door was an abandoned, dusty classroom.
Many tables and chairs were piled up against the wall, forming a large, dark mass, and there was also an overturned wastepaper basket.
On the wall directly opposite him, there was something that didn't seem to belong there, as if someone had temporarily placed it there because they had nowhere else to put it.
This is a very grand mirror, reaching all the way to the ceiling, with a magnificent gold frame, supported by two claw-shaped feet. Inscribed at the top is a line of text: Eriststra Ehruait Ubika Fruait Onwochs.
Harry was glad he had found this place, but he was afraid that the mirror would disappear when he came back a second time.
Harry took off the Invisibility Cloak from his shoulders and flew to the mirror. Ron followed closely behind Harry, while Tyrell, who was already dazed from the cold, slowly approached the mirror.
Although Tyella knew the Warmth Charm and the Cold-Repelling Charm, and could even, like Hermione, pluck a flame and put it in a bottle to carry with her, they were walking too fast. Tyella had just put on her coat when Harry grabbed her and dragged her out of the Gryffindor common room.
She hadn't even had time to grab her wand, and these spells... With the administration of the Herris potion, Tiera's mental strength far surpassed that of other young wizards, even exceeding that of some adult wizards. This resulted in Tiera's spiritual existence growing much faster than that of ordinary young wizards. When using ordinary spells, it was fine, but whenever she used temperature-related spells without a wand, such as the fire spell, the warmth spell, or the cold-dispelling spell, Tiera always felt as if her "magic power" was about to break free.
"Did you see that?" Harry asked Ron, pointing to the mirror.
“I didn’t see anything,” Ron said.
"Look! Look...they're all here...there's a huge crowd..."
“I can only see you,” Ron said.
“Look closely, come here, stand where I am.” Harry stepped aside, but as soon as Ron stood in front of the mirror, Harry could no longer see his family; he only saw Ron standing there in his ribbed tweed pajamas. Ron stared dumbfounded at his reflection in the mirror.
“Look, look at me!” Ron shouted.
"Can you see your family all around you?" Harry asked eagerly.
"No...it's just me...but it's different from now...I seem to have grown up...I'm still the president of the boys' student council!"
"What?" Harry asked, puzzled.
“I…I’m wearing the same badge Bill used to wear…and holding the House Cup and the Quidditch Cup…and I’m the Quidditch team captain!” Ron managed to tear his gaze away from the magnificent sight and looked at Harry with excitement.
"Do you think this mirror foreshadows the future?"
“No…this can’t be, my parents are…Hey! Tierra, come here, in front of the mirror, what do you see? My parents are there, aren’t they?” Harry pulled the still-dazed Tierra to the mirror.
Harry was incredibly strong; he gripped Tyella tightly and pushed him in front of the mirror.
Tiera's face was reflected in the mirror, looking completely bewildered.
The moment Tierra looked into the mirror, he felt a sudden throbbing in his heart, as if some emotional bomb buried deep within him had exploded, and a warm feeling flowed through his heart.
Something is about to emerge.
In Tiera's vision, the mirror rippled like water.
The mirror gradually revealed the university residential area where Tierra used to play as a child. It was an old-fashioned neighborhood with only six-story buildings, close to the university where his mother worked.
There was a shallow artificial lake on campus, where he and his friends would spend every summer vacation of their childhood catching tadpoles.
However, as his father's business grew, they gradually moved away from here and into an upscale neighborhood a few streets away. There, they found exquisite European-style courtyards, neatly trimmed lawns and flowerbeds, and well-dressed security guards and cleaners who would greet them with a smile. The only thing missing was a sense of human warmth. The neighbors were harmonious but distant. Even his parents said that when they retired, they would go back to the old neighborhood and leave this place to the younger generation.
The scene in the mirror shifted, revealing the artificial lake where he used to play as a child. An elderly couple with graying hair sat on a bench by the lake. The couple seemed to see Tierra and, with surprise and a slight limp, walked towards her.
They tapped the mirror lightly with their hands, as if they were looking through a pane of glass.
Just like when Tierra celebrated his first birthday in college, his parents suddenly appeared outside his study room.
A small black dog ran up from behind them and frantically pawed at the mirror with its two front paws after seeing Tierra.
Those were his parents, whom he never had a chance to say goodbye to! And that little black dog who waited for him to come home until his death!
That was his hometown, a place he could never return to!
Two streams of hot tears slowly flowed down Tiera's cheeks.
