Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones

Chapter 62 Christmas Gift

Chapter 62 Christmas Gift
That evening, Harry, Ron, and Tyrell returned to their dormitory in low spirits.

Tyrell was deeply moved after seeing her hometown, while Harry and Ron had a minor argument because they saw different things in the mirror.

Harry insisted that the mirror allowed him to see his lost parents, while Ron practically believed it could predict the future.

However, neither of them disturbed Tiera, because Tiera's expression was too sad and frightening.

After Harry and Ron fell asleep, Tierra quietly disappeared from the bed and appeared in the library tens of thousands of light-years away.

This was Tyrell's first time returning to the library since entering Hogwarts.

The confusion, shock, and sadness I felt just now were only temporary.

Hogwarts is great, and this magical world is great, but it will never be my final destination.

Tierra was homesick. He had been in this world for five years, and even when he was studying for his master's and doctoral degrees and busy with experiments, he had never been away from home for such a long time.

He missed his parents, the old neighborhood, his lab, his classmates, his senior classmates, and his doctoral dissertation, which was just waiting for the final polishing before it was sent out, stored on his computer...

His parents never died. When Tiera died in his previous life, his parents were only in their early fifties, not yet sixty. His mother had some rheumatism, and his father had a mild case of fatty liver. Even if they lost their son in their later years, his parents would not be devastated. They had lived a life of luxury for many years and were still in good health. They would live to at least seventy, if not ninety.

Tiera still has time, he still has a chance.

Tiera had simply left his hometown for a very, very far place; he could still return home.

Tierra wanted to go back and see them one more time, to hold his parents' hands and stroll through the neighborhood at sunset, to eat his mother's dumplings again, and to sweat profusely from his father's spicy braised eel; he wanted to finish his unfinished thesis and send it out as soon as possible…

For that lousy paper, he and his senior classmates planted rice seedlings in the fields for five months.

I don't know if the explosion affected his laptop. All his data is stored on that laptop. If the laptop is destroyed, all the hard work he and his senior classmates have put in over the years since they started screening the target gene will be wasted.

Tiera took out the thick Necronomicon and turned to the section on the Cosmic Gods.

This was a chapter he had never dared to delve into before.

This is a magical world, inhabited by the Great Old Ones and Outer Gods. Nothing is impossible, and nothing is unattainable.

As long as he's strong enough...

A bold and crazy plan gradually emerged in Tiera's mind.

……

The next morning, Tyella, who had stayed up all night, timed her return to bed before Harry and Ron woke up, took a short nap, and then waited to be woken up by Harry and Ron.

Harry woke up yawning repeatedly, and seemed a little distracted this morning compared to yesterday.

Besides constantly thinking about the mirror, he was also a little worried about Tierra.

Tyrell remained unwilling to discuss what she saw in the mirror, but this only fueled Harry's curiosity.

The sorrowful expression on Tierra's face yesterday was no joke.

The sadness emanating from Tierra was so overwhelming that even Harry was a little scared.

Perhaps Tyella saw his parents? Harry thought to himself as he called out to Tyella.

"Good morning, Tyella." Harry tried his best to keep a smile on his face.

"Good morning, Harry." Tyrell's smile remained unchanged, leaving Harry unable to discern anything.

"Are you... alright, Tyella?" Harry asked.

“I’m fine,” Tierra replied calmly. “I just miss my parents.”

"I saw it too!" Harry exclaimed excitedly as he sat on Tyella's bed.

“I saw my parents, they were smiling and had their hands on my shoulders,” Harry said excitedly. “I saw them too,” Tyella said. “I saw my parents walking slowly toward me.”

“So tonight…” Harry asked, leaning closer to Tyella. He didn’t finish the sentence, but the meaning was clear.

“Oh, no,” Tiera said. After all, what was shown in the Mirror of Eris was just an illusion.

“Oh, right, Harry, I have a Christmas present for you… It’s a bit late, though. My raven, Raven, was a little lazy, which is why the present I ordered only arrived today.” With that, Tyella took out a small box and handed it to Harry.

Raven, who was standing to the side, grumbled in dissatisfaction.

Harry was thrilled to open the box and found a photograph inside—a group photo of Tyella, Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

A magical photo that moves.

“I’m sorry, I had to send the film to the Owl Post Office in Diagon Alley to get it developed, and Raven was lazy, so this gift is a day late,” Tierra explained.

“That’s great, Tierra! That’s great!” Harry exclaimed excitedly, then found a small thumbtack and pinned the photo to the headboard.

……

After breakfast, Tierra carried her books to the library, seemingly returning to her diligence from before winter.

“A wizard your age should be out having fun during the Christmas holidays. I know you’ve been hanging out with the Weasleys lately. It’s no big deal to hang out with them during the holidays; you won’t turn into a troublemaker,” said Mrs. Pince, the librarian, seemingly annoyed that Tyella had added to her workload for Christmas—besides those studying for their OWL exams, she now had another wizard to keep an eye on.

But Mrs. Pines still handed Thierra a glass of hot milk before he came in, and told him to drink it before going into the library.

"Thank you, Mrs. Pince." After finishing a whole glass of hot milk, Tierra's face, which had been a little pale from walking through the corridor, regained some color.

After returning the cup to Mrs. Pince, Tyella took a small box from her wizard's robe and handed it to Mrs. Pince.

“Merry Christmas, Mrs. Pince,” Tierra said with a smile.

Mrs. Pince opened the small box that Thiella had handed her with some disbelief.

This was the first Christmas gift she had received from a student.

Inside the small box lay a thin wooden bookmark, on which was drawn a cute, slightly ugly little figure, much like a child's simple sketch.

When Mrs. Pince grasped the bookmark, the little man's mournful face would transform into a radiant smile.

“Oh my goodness, child, this…this is wonderful, thank you, thank you, child.”

Tierra smiled politely, which was a response to Mrs. Pince's thanks.

Tyella gave Christmas presents to several of his classmates, Harry, Ron, Neville, Seamus, the Weasley twins, Percy, and all the Hogwarts teachers, including the caretaker Mr. Fitch and Dumbledore.

Most of them were hastily made by him last night, using magical items that he had previously ruined.

Like Mrs. Pince's wooden bookmark, which Tiera originally intended to be made into a sharp wooden flying sword... but in the end, she only managed to imbue it with a color-changing magic spell...

The photo he gave Harry... was just an ordinary magical photo, only he picked it out from a bunch of photos he had taken before.

Ron's gift was a few Muggle coins.

The Weasley twins' gift was a Muggle novel for each of them, while Percy's gift was a blank Muggle notebook...

The gift he gave McGonagall was a magical scarf that could automatically shade him from the sun; the gift he gave Hagrid was a Muggle encyclopedia of animals; and the gift he gave the caretaker Fitch was a broom that could clean the ceiling… This came about because Tyella wanted to try to repair the broken flying brooms of the Gryffindor Quidditch team.

Tierra originally wanted to give Snape a bottle of Potter family shampoo... but fearing Snape would kill him, she stayed up all night brewing a potion of joy for Snape... regardless of whether he would need it or not, just for good luck.

Professor Sprout is a self-moving artificial flower, Professor Flitwick is a little hat that always lights up, Mrs. Hodge is a helmet that automatically plays music, Professor Bourne is a unicorn model that only knows how to pierce, Mrs. Sinestad is a star-shaped lamp, Professor Traorine is a bottle of calming potion, and Professor Quirrell is a new turban...

Dumbledore...Tiera simply wrapped a pair of light blue cashmere gloves with yellow stars, a pair of wool socks of the same color, and a pair of cashmere thermal underwear in a gift box and placed them at the headmaster's office door.
