After the divorce, I started to transfer
Chapter 1922 Unrequited Love
Seeing Alicia's expectant eyes, Chen Feng naturally couldn't bring himself to refuse.
However, Chen Feng did not agree immediately, but said, "If you really want to stay here for two days, I would certainly welcome you, but you must first get your parents' permission."
Upon hearing this, Alicia immediately replied, "Of course, I'll definitely have to talk to my parents first. I'm sure they'll agree. Your villa is absolutely amazing, it's so beautiful. After my graduation ceremony, I plan to come and stay here for a few more days."
Chen Feng was speechless, but he nodded on the surface to show his welcome: "If your parents agree, you can come and stay if you want."
Chen Feng also came to terms with it. Although this little girl was clingy, he could easily find an excuse to leave and stop her from bothering him. He could then hand her over to Molly or Brina to take care of.
"Thank you, John. You're so kind." The girl smiled broadly and took Chen Feng's arm with both hands. Her girlish thoughts were laid bare in her eyes. This made Chen Feng feel a headache coming on.
Sometimes, a man's excessive charm is indeed not a good thing. No matter how charming he is, he would never touch his friend's daughter, even if the girl is about to come of age.
He didn't want to continue feeling like he was being stared at by her, so he immediately changed the subject, saying, "Since you like my villa, I'll show you around."
As he spoke, he casually pulled his arm away from her outstretched arms. Then, he pretended to lead the way for her, introducing her to the others as he did so.
"The biggest advantage of this villa is its excellent location. First, it's in Beverly Hills, where properties are known for their high resale value. Second, this villa is situated halfway up a mountain..."
Sure enough, Alicia's attention was immediately drawn to Chen Feng's introduction, and she began to enthusiastically tour the luxurious villa with him.
About ten minutes later, Molly finally returned. With her was Grace, with whom she had been getting along quite well the past two days. Grace had short chestnut hair, dark brown eyes, and fair skin. She wore a coffee-colored silk blouse and dark blue jeans, which accentuated her shapely figure—not too plump, nor too thin. In short, she was a woman with a great figure and beautiful looks, around twenty-five or twenty-six years old, not old at all.
Chen Feng immediately felt relieved and took Alicia to meet the two of them.
When the two met, Grace, who was next to Molly, was very happy and enthusiastic. She had two shallow dimples on her face and quickly went up to greet Alicia.
“Oh my God! Alicia, what a coincidence! It’s been months since we last met. I never expected to see you here.” Grace said, giving Alicia a big hug with a happy smile on her face.
Compared to Grace's joy, Alicia appeared rather calm. Although she smiled and gave Grace a perfunctory hug, it was clearly not very enthusiastic.
Alicia simply smiled at Grace, her expression somewhat perfunctory: "Hi, Grace, I didn't expect to meet you here."
Chen Feng, though somewhat curious that the two knew each other, wasn't too surprised. After all, Grace's family was quite wealthy, and she was likely from California, so it wasn't unusual for her to know Alicia, the daughter of California's richest man.
Grace didn't seem to mind Alicia's attitude at all, and remained enthusiastic, smiling as she said, "It can only be said to be God's arrangement. It's been more than four months since we last met at that charity gala. I remember the evening gown you wore at the gala, it was absolutely gorgeous, so beautiful, you were like an angel descended to earth."
Clearly, Grace was intentionally flattering Alicia. This was entirely understandable; after all, Alicia had an incredibly wealthy father—definitely much richer than theirs. Moreover, their family had business dealings with the Hicks family.
Alicia remained relatively calm in the face of Grace's praise, maintaining a faint, polite smile. She stepped forward to greet Molly: "Hi, Molly. I've heard about you from John. You're his girlfriend now, right? That's really lucky."
Alicia, acting like a grown-up, stepped forward and shook hands with Molly. Molly, seeing Alicia's expression and the look in her eyes, immediately understood. A smile involuntarily appeared on Molly's lips as she shook Alicia's hand, saying with a smile, "I'm truly lucky to be John's girlfriend. You're welcome to come to our home."
Molly spoke those last words with the air and tone of a hostess, which everyone could hear, including Alicia, who felt a little annoyed. Even though she knew Molly was just one of Chen Feng's girlfriends, and not necessarily the most favored.
Alicia still felt a little uncomfortable. After all, she wasn't a real adult yet; she wasn't even an adult. So, she couldn't help but say again, "I plan to stay here for a couple of days. Then, after I graduate high school, I'll continue to stay here for a while. John has already agreed, so you should welcome me staying here, right?"
Molly thought to herself, "You little brat, you're trying to be sarcastic with me." However, she still smiled and said, "Of course, since John has agreed to let you stay, I certainly won't object. I'll listen to him at home."
That last sentence choked Alicia, causing her heart to ache. She couldn't help but ask, "John said there are two other women...partners here besides you. Should I tell them I'm staying here too?"
Alicia almost blurted out "two girlfriends," but thankfully she changed her mind in time. Otherwise, saying it would have been a direct slap in Molly's face, and the situation would have been rather awkward.
Molly, of course, understood the implication in her words, and her face stiffened slightly. However, she quickly recovered and said with a smile, "That's not necessary. As I just said, I listen to John at home, and they are no exception. Besides, this house belongs to John, so he has the final say. He can let whoever he wants live here. Honey, am I right?"
She was referring to Chen Feng with those last words. Chen Feng could sense the discord between the two women and frowned slightly.
Chen Feng said, "Ellie, call your parents first. Get their permission before you stay here. Molly, go to the kitchen and tell them to bring their best dishes to the dining room. We'll prepare dinner together. I'll leave Ellie to you for now. I'm going upstairs to take a shower."
At this point, he nodded to Grace again: "Welcome, Grace."
Grace had, of course, noticed Chen Feng, the handsome and dashing Asian man, long ago. In fact, her attention had been almost entirely focused on him. She hadn't paid much attention to the subtle rivalry and verbal exchange between Alicia and Molly.
When Grace saw Chen Feng speaking to her, she blushed inexplicably and felt a little guilty. She quickly nodded and said, "Thank you. It's an honor to be your guest, and thank you for your hospitality."
Chen Feng nodded to her again, said nothing more, and turned to walk straight upstairs.
Chen Feng went upstairs mainly because he didn't want to deal with Alicia, that clingy girl anymore. Also, he really wanted to take a shower first. He'd been visiting Hicks's house all day and was feeling a bit uncomfortable.
When he finished showering, changed his clothes, and came downstairs, the three women were already seated in the dining room, waiting for him. Chen Feng walked over, sat down at the head of the table, and said to the three women, "Alright, let's start eating."
Alicia couldn't help but ask, "Shouldn't we pray first?"
Chen Feng thought to himself, "I'm not religious." However, considering that the three of them were probably religious, he nodded and said, "Alright then, you can pray first."
The three women responded in unison and prayed together. The prayer was short and quickly concluded. Then everyone officially began their meal, with over a dozen dishes laid out on the table.
This was all prepared by the two live-in nannies. Clearly, Mrs. Mercer's cooking was more appreciated. Grace and Alicia both raved about several of Mrs. Mercer's dishes. As the four were eating, they heard a car drive into the front yard. Shortly after, Luna entered. She was momentarily startled to see Grace and Alicia, two strangers, in the living room, but quickly regained her composure and walked straight to the dining table.
Molly pretended not to see her and didn't greet her, continuing to eat her food with her head down. Grace and Alicia, on the other hand, stared at her with great curiosity.
Seeing this, Chen Feng had no choice but to speak up, "Luna, have you eaten yet? If not, sit down and eat with us. We have two guests today. This is Grace, Molly's friend. This is Alicia, my friend Carl Hicks' daughter."
After saying that, he introduced Luna to the two women, saying, "Her name is Luna, and she is a model."
Grace already knew about Luna, the vixen, from Molly. Therefore, upon seeing Luna in person, she simply smiled and nodded politely, without saying anything more.
Alicia had already heard from Chen Feng that there were other women in the villa. So, without a doubt, Luna was one of them. Alicia didn't have much affection for Luna either, but she was still very polite on the surface and waved slightly to Luna in greeting.
"Hello, Luna, it's nice to meet you. You're so beautiful and have a great figure; no wonder you're a model."
Luna, who had been looking a bit tense, smiled when she heard Alicia's words and realized that Alicia was the daughter of California's richest man. She stepped forward to greet her, "Hello, Alicia, it's a pleasure to have you at my home. I hope you have a good time."
Luna was unaware that the young woman also had feelings for Chen Feng. She assumed Alicia was simply the daughter of Chen Feng's friend, and given Alicia's distinguished status, she naturally became quite enthusiastic.
Alicia nodded politely, "Thank you."
Seeing this, Chen Feng gestured for Luna to sit down, and then asked Eliza to get Luna a plate. Luna washed her hands before sitting down to eat with everyone.
Alicia was curious about Luna and asked her many questions, mainly about her modeling career and her acquaintance with Chen Feng. Upon hearing that Luna and Chen Feng had only known each other for a short time, Alicia felt a pang of resentment and a touch of jealousy towards Luna.
Chen Feng had only known Luna for a few days, yet he had already brought her to stay in such a luxurious villa—the treatment was absolutely top-notch. He was incredibly lucky! Besides, he subconsciously assumed Luna was a vain gold digger, so naturally, he didn't have a very good impression of her.
Considering the earlier discord between Molly and Luna, she naturally chose Luna, the weaker party. Alicia didn't care much about gold diggers, because such women were destined to never truly win Chen Feng's heart.
Molly, who also comes from a wealthy family, is different; she has the potential to marry Chen Feng. Therefore, ultimately, a woman like Molly is her true rival and opponent, while someone like Luna doesn't even come close. Sooner or later, Chen Feng will get tired of her and dump a woman like Luna, at most giving her a breakup fee.
This kind of thing is quite common in wealthy circles like hers. Therefore, Alicia actually chatted quite happily with Luna throughout dinner. On the other hand, she barely spoke a few words to Molly and Grace, which naturally made Molly somewhat unhappy.
Although Grace was also unhappy, she didn't dare to argue with Alicia.
After dinner, Chen Feng symbolically watched TV and drank tea with them in the living room for a while before getting up and going upstairs, leaving Alicia to be entertained by Molly and Luna.
After Chen Feng left, the four women looked at each other for a moment, and the atmosphere suddenly became cold. After a while, Molly broke the silence and asked, "Ellie, did you call your parents?"
Alicia glanced at her and said, "I texted my mom, and she's agreed to let me stay here."
Molly was taken aback and asked with some surprise, "You're not an adult yet, are you? How can your mother be so comfortable letting you stay here?"
Alicia was a little unhappy upon hearing this, and frowned slightly as she said, "Of course my parents are very relieved. John is a very good friend of my father, and our whole family trusts John. Besides, this villa is really beautiful, so I plan to stay here for a couple of days first. After I graduate from high school and finish my studies in a few days, I will come back to stay for a while. My parents have agreed, and John has also agreed."
Luna, who was standing nearby, had just learned about this. She was slightly surprised upon hearing it, but couldn't help feeling happy, especially when she saw the somewhat displeased look on Molly's face.
Luna immediately smiled and said, "Welcome, Ellie. Anyway, we have plenty of rooms here, why don't you move in next door to me? The room next to mine is empty, then I'll have company. I happen to have tomorrow off, so I'll keep you company at home. Of course, if you want to go shopping, I can go with you."
Alicia immediately replied happily, "Thank you, Luna. Let's play at home for a while tomorrow, and then see if we have time to go shopping. I haven't been shopping in a long time, so I can buy some clothes for the changing season."
"Okay, then it's settled."
Alicia and Luna immediately huddled together, chatting intimately and whispering in each other's ears, as if they had instantly become best friends who could talk about anything.
Molly was quite displeased by this scene, but she couldn't show it. After all, Alicia's status was special, and she was now Chen Feng's guest, so she naturally couldn't say anything unpleasant to Alicia. However, she wouldn't shamelessly continue to accompany this proud little princess. She stood up abruptly, pulled Grace along, and headed upstairs.
Once they reached the second floor, Grace approached and whispered, "Why does Ellie seem a little unfriendly towards you? Is it just my imagination?"
Molly rolled her eyes at her, annoyed, and said, "She doesn't seem to like you much either. She's lukewarm towards you. Did you have some kind of grudge against her before?"
Grace said with a bitter face, "How could that be? How could I dare to offend her? Her father is Carl Hicks, the richest man in California and one of the top billionaires in the United States, and Ellie is his only daughter. How could I dare to offend her? I'd be trying to curry favor with him."
"Then why is she treating you this way?"
Grace shrugged and smiled wryly, "Didn't I just say? She's the daughter of California's richest man, a proud little princess. And me? I'm just the daughter of an ordinary businessman. It's normal that she looks down on me a bit. It would be abnormal if she were to be very enthusiastic towards me instead."
After speaking, she gave Molly a special look. After all, Molly also came from a wealthy family, while she, from an ordinary wealthy family, was still quite different from her. Clearly, Molly was also someone she was trying to curry favor with. Molly hadn't paid much attention to her before, but this time Molly suddenly contacted her, going shopping, chatting, and having heart-to-heart talks, which initially made her a little uncomfortable. She had a vague suspicion about Molly's sudden enthusiasm, but pretended not to know.
"This one is really proud and precocious; she actually took a fancy to my man. Isn't that ridiculous?" Molly couldn't help but show a hint of sarcasm as she said this.
Because she knew Chen Feng would never be interested in this underage girl. Although Chen Feng was a womanizer, even somewhat of a scoundrel, he would never do anything that crossed the line or violated moral principles.
As the daughter of Chen Feng's friend, Alicia was someone Chen Feng could never touch. Therefore, Alicia, this young girl just beginning to experience love, was destined to only have unrequited love. Unrequited love would be a footnote to her youth.
Thinking of this, Molly's initially annoyed mood immediately improved. (End of Chapter)
