Just like the difference between an ordinary cemetery and a tomb of a hero, the former clearly indicates a virtuous and eminent monk who devoted himself to the cause of ordinary people until his life was exhausted.

The Buddha was also greatly affected, having too much spiritual energy extracted at once, which damaged his cultivation and magical power.

This is similar to how ordinary people damage their innate vital energy; it is an injury that damages their very foundation.

The spiritual essence is the omnipotent energy. Without the spiritual essence, even if the Buddha had the means, he would lack the power and energy to exert them.

Maitreya Buddha connected his energy with that of Tathagata Buddha, binding them together by cause and effect, a connection that even he himself could not untie. He was determined to drag Tathagata Buddha into Nirvana together.

Even worse, He was struck by the light of death, causing His lifespan to continuously ebb away and His internal organs to decay.

It's like having a hypoglycemic attack, but then someone takes away all the sugar around you.

Not a single piece of candy was left; as he lay dying, someone was still sharpening a knife nearby.

Hu Xiuwu was no merciful man; like Sun Wukong, he enjoyed kicking the cripple's bad leg.

He doesn't care what method he uses as long as he can win.

Hu Xiuwu raised the Four Swords of Zhuxian once again, but this time it was different from the last.

This time, the four swords of Zhu, Lu, Xian, and Jue joined forces, their auras intertwined. Each sword occupied a region, forming the Zhuxian Sword Formation within the sword domain.

The relentless, storm-like attacks continued, and the Buddha was as if he had fallen into a giant red sun, constantly being torn apart and slashed by the four swords of the Immortal Executioner.

The Buddha's law of cause and effect became entangled with Maitreya Buddha's law of cause and effect, preventing the Buddha from using it and making it impossible to avoid or transfer the injuries from the Four Swords of Zhuxian.

He could only chant Buddhist scriptures aloud, compressing his Dharma body into a twelve-foot-tall golden body. He was immune to the three calamities and impervious to heavenly tribulations.

But the Four Swords of Zhuxian are more powerful than the Three Calamities and more ferocious than the Heavenly Tribulation.

Even the Buddha could not withstand it for long and wanted to break free from this calamity.

"As expected, we still need to deal with Maitreya Buddha first!"

However, dealing with Maitreya Buddha's law of cause and effect is not easy.

Maitreya Buddha risked his life, and was also burdened with the karmic consequences of all beings in Xiniu Hezhou. If Tathagata Buddha could be alone in a quiet room, he could calmly unravel the threads of cause and effect, and with some time, he could unravel this tangled web of causal laws. But now, with the Death God's Light burning his internal organs and the Four Immortal-Slaying Swords piercing his head and chest, he simply did not have the time to slowly untangle the seal of causal laws.

What's the fastest way to untangle a ball of yarn? Cut it with a sword.

The only option is to make a tough decision and fight for a sliver of hope.

Keep in mind that the Jade Emperor and the Supreme Lord are still watching from the outside. As long as the spacetime chaos stops, He will have already won.

Once a plan is made in one's mind, there is no hesitation. The Buddha uses faith as a sword of wisdom, and the sparks of anger ignite the wrath of the Immovable King on the blade.

With a swift stroke, the intangible sword of wisdom slashes at the invisible cause and effect.

With each severance of a causal link, the rate at which the Buddha's spiritual essence dissipates slows down.

When all the karma in the world was severed by the Buddha, He truly became a pure person untouched by karma.

"Humph~"

As the threads of cause and effect were severed one by one, the Buddha also suffered the backlash of cause and effect. In addition to being affected by the backlash of the surge of magical power, he also had his blessings in the dark diminished.

Resisting the unseen forces of cause and effect will inevitably bring misfortune.

But the misfortunes to come are nothing compared to the death we face now.

The Buddha Tathagata suffered a backlash and was injured, and the even weaker Maitreya Buddha was in the same situation.

The old, withered skin resembled the scriptures in a thousand-year-old cave, crumbling even without being touched. Suddenly, the Maitreya Buddha exhaled a long breath.

Its head drooped, and then it fell silent.

The Buddha severed all karmic ties, including those of the Bodhisattvas on Mount Sumeru. Although the transfer of karmic debts could no longer be used to transfer injuries, it also prevented people from exploiting loopholes again.

At the same time, he can also use the method of picking flowers and burying seeds to avoid attacks that could harm Him.

After using the Innate Demon Refining Tower to take away Maitreya Buddha's physical body, Hu Xiuwu roared, "The more you cherish your life, the closer you are to death."

He manipulated the four swords of Zhuxian to move, causing the sword formation to shrink.

Cause and effect are also entanglements. Without cause and effect in the world, there are no entanglements. Even a Great Immortal can be easily banished from the world.

If you have no causal ties with the world, how could you possibly be held back by the laws of nature?

Even after being dragged into the void, the Buddha still found it unbelievable.

Hu Xiuwu sneered, "Buddha, there is no such thing as cause and effect in the void!"
