The film I watched suggested that a certain family's influence hadn't been completely eradicated; they were recruiting new members. In other series, some characters plotted resurrection hundreds or even thousands of years ago, using evil magic and sorcery to try and ascend to immortality, but ultimately failed. It was all just wishful thinking and futile effort; eventually, righteous heroes would thwart their evil schemes, and good would prevail over evil.
