I am Master Maoshan

Chapter 2388 Yang Jun and Yang Xiao?

"Stop! Who are you?" Xiao Shui quickly stopped the car, opened the door, and shouted.

The two men turned around at the same time upon hearing the sound.

The tall man frowned and said, "We are employees of the Eighth Pig Farm, here to take care of some business. And who are you?"

His tone carried a hint of displeasure, as if he was somewhat surprised by Xiao Shui's sudden appearance.

Xiao Shui sneered and said, "You're also from the Eighth Pig Farm? I've never seen you before. Do you have any identification?" As she spoke, Xiao Shui slowly approached the two men, her eyes fixed on them, not missing a single subtle movement.

Upon hearing Xiao Shui's words, a hint of surprise flashed in the thin man's eyes. He sized her up, then smiled and said, "Comrade, we really are employees of the pig farm. There's an urgent matter at the farm, so they sent us here to handle it. We forgot our identification; could you please make an exception?"

"Forgot your ID? That won't do. You can't leave here until your identities are verified. Please come back with me to assist with the investigation." As she spoke, Xiao Shui took out her police ID and waved it in front of the two of them.

The tall man's expression changed slightly when he saw the police officer's ID. He then took a step forward and said, "Officer, we are truly innocent. How about this, we'll call the pig farm and have the people there verify our identities?"

Xiao Shui thought about it and felt that the suggestion was reasonable, so she nodded and said, "Okay, you guys fight. But I want to listen from the side."

So the thin man took out his phone and dialed the pig farm's number. A hoarse voice came from the other end: "Hello? Who is it?"

The thin man spoke up, "Is this Factory Director Wang? I'm Yang Xiao. We're running some business on Zhiyang Road and we ran into a police officer who asked us to show our identification. We forgot to bring it. Could you please tell the officer?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, then someone said, "Special Envoy Yang Xiao, could you ask which police station that officer is from? I'll call their superior."

Xiao Shui frowned slightly when she heard the voice on the other end of the phone, then gestured to Yang Xiao to hand her the phone.

Yang Xiao understood and handed the phone over.

Xiao Shui took the phone, held it to her ear, and said calmly, "Hello, this is Shui Yuexin."

A slightly weary voice came from the other end of the phone: "Xiao Shui? You're there so soon? Okay, these two are special envoys, sent to help out at our Eighth Pig Farm. You'll have to cooperate well with them."

Shui Yuexin nodded slightly. Although the other person couldn't see her, she still made the gesture subconsciously, and then said, "I understand."

After saying that, she immediately handed the phone back to Yang Xiao, her movements clean and efficient, without the slightest hesitation.

Shui Yuexin looked at Yang Xiao, a hint of doubt flashing in her eyes, and asked softly, "Have the higher-ups noticed this Liu Jun as well?"

Yang Xiao's baby face still wore a smiling expression, like a doll that would never get angry.

"Girl, don't ask too much about this. Let's go inside and talk." Yang Xiao's voice was gentle, without directly answering Shui Yuexin's question.

Shui Yuexin rolled her eyes, feeling somewhat dissatisfied, but didn't say anything more. She took the lead and walked towards the paper craft shop not far away.

Inside the paper craft shop, Liu Jun was squatting on the ground, teasing the little white fox. The little white fox would occasionally block Liu Jun's hand with its little paws, while using its other paw to grab something and stuff it into its mouth, not forgetting to roll its eyes at Liu Jun.

Mo Li sat at the counter, holding a calligraphy brush in her hand, carefully drawing talismans on a yellow talisman paper.

Suddenly, without looking up, Mo Li said, "Someone's here."

Liu Jun was stunned. It was already past midnight. What came at this hour was probably not a person, but a ghost.

His mind immediately conjured up various terrifying images from the previous night, and his body trembled slightly, but he quickly regained his composure.

After all, Mo Li is here, as is that awesome big black dog who claims to be an ancient god who fell to earth.

Just then, the door of the paper craft shop was gently pushed open, and a gust of cold wind blew in. Shui Yuexin, Yang Xiao, and two others walked in, their figures somewhat blurry in the dim light.

Liu Jun looked at them, his mind filled with questions. Who were these three people? Why were they here at this time?
Mo Li, however, remained focused on drawing talismans, seemingly unconcerned about their arrival.

Shui Yuexin entered the shop, looked around, and then her gaze settled on Liu Jun and Mo Li. Her eyes revealed a hint of scrutiny and wariness, as if she were judging whether the two were friends or foes.

Yang Xiao smiled and stepped forward, performed a Taoist salute, and then said, "Excuse me, Taoist priests. We are special envoys sent from above to handle some matters with you."

Liu Jun and Mo Li exchanged a glance, both sensing a hint of confusion in each other's eyes.

Immediately afterward, Mo Li broke the silence, her brows furrowed slightly, and asked with a hint of wariness, "Which one?"

At this moment, Yang Xiao, with a smiling face, spoke up and explained slowly, "The pig farm headquarters sent us. You should have heard of our department."

Their tone made it seem as if the pig farm department they represented was a well-known, mysterious organization.

Upon hearing this, Mo Li frowned even more, her eyes filled with vigilance, and said coldly, "I've heard of you, but we haven't done anything illegal or disorderly, have we? What needs to be done?"

Liu Jun, standing to the side, was completely bewildered, muttering to himself: What pig farm? These guys look pretty impressive, what could they possibly have to do with a pig farm? These days, are all pig farmers some kind of genius? The more he thought about it, the stranger it seemed, and all sorts of bizarre images kept flashing through his mind. Just then, Liu Jun suddenly remembered the convoy he and Mo Li had encountered a few days ago on their way back from searching for the female corpse.

The convoy was impressive, with vehicles neatly arranged, each bearing the pig farm's logo. Yet, the convoy exuded an air of mystery, as if concealing some unspeakable secret. Now, I wonder if there's any connection between the two events?

Yang Xiao seemed unconcerned about Mo Li's reaction, and looked directly at Liu Jun. His tone was calm but carried an air of undeniable authority as he said, "We have something to discuss. Mr. Liu Jun, we would like to ask him to come with us."

Upon hearing this, Mo Li refused without hesitation: "No way!"

However, the muscular man who had been silent all along suddenly spoke up. This guy was tall and burly, with well-defined muscles, like a fitness instructor, and his voice was also very loud: "I didn't discuss it with you. You're leaving whether you like it or not!"

His posture suggested that he would immediately take action if Liu Jun dared to refuse.

Just as the tense atmosphere was about to erupt, the big black dog, which had been quietly dozing on the stairs, suddenly got up.

Its previously languid body instantly tensed up, its ears stood up high, its eyes were fixed on the people in front of it, and it let out a low growl, as if warning something.

The big black dog's actions made the atmosphere in the store even more tense. Liu Jun's heart was racing involuntarily, and his palms were slightly sweaty.

Mo Li instinctively stepped in front of Liu Jun, her eyes fixed warily on the other side, ready to strike at any moment.

Yang Xiao looked at the big black dog, a hint of surprise flashing across his face, but he quickly regained his smiling expression.

He took two steps forward slowly, trying to calm the big black dog, and said, "Don't be nervous, we mean no harm."

But the big black dog didn't seem to care and kept staring at them intently, as if it would attack at any moment.

Seeing this, the muscular man frowned impatiently and said, "Why bother arguing with a big black dog? Hurry up and take Liu Jun back to report."

As he spoke, he strode forward, preparing to forcibly take Liu Jun away.

Seeing that the situation was not good, Mo Li drew a long sword with his right hand and grabbed a handful of talismans with his left hand, ready to fight immediately.

Yang Xiao quickly stopped the muscular man and said, "Yang Jun, don't be impulsive, let's discuss this further."

After saying that, he turned to look at Liu Jun and said, "Mr. Liu Jun, we really have no ill intentions. We just need your cooperation in investigating some things. Don't worry, as long as you come with us, we will definitely bring you back safely after we have figured things out."

Liu Jun looked at the group of people in front of him, feeling conflicted. He didn't know whether he should trust them, nor what dangers he would face if he followed them.

Just then, the big black dog suddenly pounced on the muscular man Yang Jun, its sharp claws flashing through the air.

Yang Jun reacted quickly, dodging to the side in an attempt to avoid the big black dog's attack.

However, he was much slower than the big black dog, and was immediately sent flying.

Enraged after falling outside the store, Yang Jun rushed inside to attack the big black dog, but was stopped by Yang Xiao again.

"Yang Jun, calm down! Have you forgotten what the boss said?" Yang Xiao frowned and immediately shouted.

Yang Jun felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him after being reprimanded by Yang Xiao. His body trembled slightly, and he calmed down considerably. Although he was still furious, he restrained himself and did not rush forward to attack. He simply stood there, panting heavily, his chest heaving violently.

"Gentlemen, there's no need for such hostility. We're just here to take Mr. Liu Jun to do some investigation. We don't intend to do anything to him. Why bother?" Yang Xiao turned around after Yang Jun quieted down, forcing a seemingly friendly smile on his face, and said to Liu Jun and Mo Li.

"If you have any questions, just ask in the store," Mo Li said coldly.

“Alright, if you don’t mind, I’ll ask here.” Yang Xiao nodded slightly, took out an exquisite notebook and a fountain pen from his pocket, skillfully opened the notebook, held the pen between his fingers, then looked up, his gaze fixed on Liu Jun, and asked, “Mr. Liu Jun, how much of your memory before the fall do you recall?”

Liu Jun's previously calm face instantly froze, and his pupils contracted sharply, as if he had remembered something extremely terrifying.

His body trembled slightly, and he subconsciously took a step back, his eyes filled with confusion.

"What memories?" Liu Jun's voice trembled slightly, as if he was trying his best to hide his inner panic.

Liu Jun knew that if he really came from another world, then the secrets hidden within him were too great, and it was not impossible for him to be taken away and dissected for investigation.

“The memories before the fall, to put it bluntly, are the memories you lost after coming to this world from another world,” Yang Xiao said slowly, his eyes fixed on Liu Jun, trying to catch a clue from his expression.

Now, Liu Jun fell even more silent. His mind was a mess, with blurry images and fragmented memories flashing through his mind, yet he couldn't piece together a complete recollection. He felt as if he were in a giant maze, unable to find his way out.

Mo Li, standing to the side, was also astonished. She had only assumed Liu Jun was her master's last disciple, never expecting him to be connected to another world. (End of Chapter)
