I am a boss in the world of nine uncles

Chapter 1688 How could Xuanzang cultivate without permission?!

In the blink of an eye.

On the westbound highway.

Pigsy, leading the white dragon horse, looked at his master and Six-Eared Macaque walking side by side ahead. A strange feeling of bitterness welled up in his heart. He couldn't help but turn to Old Sandy, who was carrying a load beside him, and said, "Since this little guy came, the three of us brothers have all fallen out of favor."

Sha Wujing blinked and said, "Master isn't an emperor, and we aren't concubines, so how could we have fallen out of favor?"

"You blockhead," Pigsy said irritably.

Sha Wujing: "..."

His main question was why the three of them were vying for their master's favor.

They have nothing to eat or wear, and their master left them no inheritance!
"Holy Monk, Holy Monk..."

Before they knew it, it was noon. The heat was unbearable. Qin Yao silently led his disciples to a big tree. Just as they announced a half-hour break, shouts suddenly came from the void.

"That voice sounds familiar."

Sun Wukong muttered to himself, and a golden light flashed in his eyes. Eight divine rainbows of different colors descended rapidly, and within each rainbow was a familiar figure.

The next moment, the Eight Immortals landed in front of the big tree almost simultaneously, cupped their hands and said, "Greetings from the Eight Immortals of the Upper Cave."

Qin Yao strode forward and returned the greeting, saying, "Greetings, Xuanzang."

Sun Wukong, who disliked such formalities, leaped over to the Eight Immortals and asked with a smile, "You eight have come to see me, haven't you? What brings you here?"

The Eight Immortals lowered their arms, and Tieguai Li shook his head and said, "Great Sage, we are not here to see you, but to see the Venerable Xuanzang."

"Looking for my master?" Sun Wukong was taken aback. "You two shouldn't have any connection, right?"

In his memory, the Eight Immortals had no dealings with his master and had no karmic connection with him, so why would they suddenly descend to earth to find him?

Tieguai Li pointed at the Six-Eared Macaque and said, "It didn't matter before, but it has become a problem since this little monkey started following the Holy Monk."

Sun Wukong then looked at the Six-Eared Macaque and pressed, "What's the relationship? Just tell me the whole story, so I don't have to keep asking."

Tieguai Li nodded and said, "To tell you the truth, before this little monkey was demoted, he was a disciple of Laozi and was quite favored, which is how we came to be involved."

Not long ago, the Time Wheel, which can see the past and the future, suddenly foreshadowed a future.

In this future, the little monkey transforms into a giant monkey, not only breaching the defenses of Chang'an but also charging right up to Emperor Taizong's throne, displaying extreme ferocity...

Therefore, our descent to the mortal realm is to deliver some magical treasures to the holy monk, hoping that if such a sign truly exists, the holy monk can use these treasures to control this little monkey.

In fact, he did not finish describing the scenes shown by the Wheel of Time. In the later scenes, there was even a scene where a giant monkey trampled Tang Sanzang to death.

However, in order to avoid being targeted by Liu Er, he deliberately concealed this fact...

"An attack on Chang'an?"

Qin Yao feigned surprise and looked at Liu Er along with the other disciples.

Xiao Liu was dumbfounded and waved his hands repeatedly: "No way, impossible! I was supposed to be going on a pilgrimage with the Holy Monk, how could I suddenly transform into a giant monkey and attack Chang'an?"

Zhongli Quan said earnestly, "The destiny foreshadowed by the Wheel of Time has never been wrong. It must be that in the future, you and Chang'an have some karmic connection."

Xiaoliuer: "..."

Looking at the seemingly dumbfounded little monkey, Qin Yao breathed a sigh of relief and reached out to ruffle his fluffy hair, saying, "Six Ears, don't worry, I won't just stand by and watch you go down the wrong path. This so-called destiny can definitely be changed!"

The Eight Immortals nodded in agreement, and Lan Caihe blurted out, "We have come here to change the fate of the Holy Monk."

"and many more!"

Sun Wukong keenly sensed the underlying meaning in those words and stared intently at Lan Caihe, asking, "What do you mean by changing the fate of the Holy Monk? Isn't it about changing the fate of Liu Er?"

Lan Caihe's face stiffened, and he quickly said, "I misspoke."

"Eight Immortals, I consider you my friends, and I hope you won't hide anything from me!" Sun Wukong asked seriously.

“There are some unspeakable reasons behind this, Great Sage. Come with me, and I will tell you in private,” Lü Dongbin said sincerely.

Sun Wukong pursed his lips, then followed the other person away from the group.

"Alright, alright, let's begin presenting the treasures." Tieguai Li clapped his hands, forcibly drawing everyone's attention back.

Lan Caihe secretly breathed a sigh of relief and immediately came to Qin Yao. He took out a stick that was neither gold nor wood, about the length of a palm, and presented it to him with both hands: "Holy Monk, this is a demon-slaying stick. Once struck, those demons will reveal themselves."

Qin Yao did not refuse; instead, he raised both hands and accepted the gift with a smile, saying, "Thank you."

Lan Caihe smiled and immediately stepped back to stand alongside the other immortals!

Zhang Guolao then approached Qin Yao and took out a golden rope: "Holy Monk, this is the Immortal Binding Lock. Even a demon king, once bound, cannot be freed for a while."

"Thank you." Qin Yao reached out and took the rope, thanking him again.

These treasures mean nothing to him now, but they are very important to Tang Xuanzang, so having them is better than not having them...

“Holy monk, this is a four-colored lotus flower, a sacred medicine for healing. Please accept it.” Shortly after, He Xiangu replaced Zhang Guolao and presented a lotus flower to Qin Yao.

Qin Yao took the lotus flower and glanced at the three items in turn, which showed the Eight Immortals' care for Liu Er.

The demon-slaying stick revealed its true form, restricting its movement.

The Immortal Binding Lock was used to bind the body, preventing the situation from spiraling out of control.

The four-colored lotus flowers can be used to heal the wounds of the beaten Six-Eared Man.

It can be said that this is a complete set of magic weapons designed specifically for Liu Er, yet imbued with care and dedication.

At this moment, Sun Wukong and Lü Dongbin returned together. The former's gaze shifted between Liu Er and his master, but he could not imagine that Liu Er would become his master's death calamity!
"Please rest assured, everyone. Xuanzang understands your meaning and will make good use of these three treasures to discipline the Six-Eared Macaque and prevent that tragedy from truly occurring in the world." As the Eight Immortals stood in a row again, Qin Yao silently gripped the three treasures and said earnestly.

The Eight Immortals laughed in unison. Tieguai Li cupped his hands and said, "Thank you, Holy Monk. Now we can leave in peace."

Qin Yao said, "Until we meet again."

"See you later."

The Eight Immortals spoke in unison, and then simultaneously transformed into light and departed.

"You're actually a disciple of Laozi? No wonder you were able to get away with all that havoc in the Heavenly Palace." After watching them leave, Pigsy clicked his tongue in amazement and said to Six Ears.

Six Ears, however, seemed oblivious to this, and simply looked at Qin Yao and said, "Holy Monk, perhaps you should stop teaching me cultivation, lest..."

Qin Yao waved his hand and said, "What if that situation is because a demon has controlled your body?"

If you don't cultivate yourself, how can you resist evil spirits?

Six Ears, don't take this too seriously. You shouldn't blame yourself for something that didn't happen, and you certainly shouldn't waste your energy on things that don't exist.

The Six-Eared Macaque was deeply moved and knelt down with a thud: "Thank you for your guidance, Holy Monk!" Qin Yao bent down and helped him up, saying gently: "Remember, what kind of person you become in the future is up to you."

Liu Er suddenly clenched his fists and said as if making a vow, "I will definitely learn magic well and protect you like the Great Sage!"

If Sun Wukong didn't know about his master's calamity, would he still be in the mood to jokingly ask, "You want to compete with me too?"

But now, he felt only a heavy heart, and he couldn't stop his master from spreading the teachings.

Can fate really be changed?
If the future can be changed, can it still be called destiny?

"Let's go, we've rested enough, it's time to hit the road." At this moment, Qin Yao carefully put away the three treasures and said with a smile.

……

Throughout the rest of the journey, Qin Yao treated the Six-Eared Macaque the same way, which made the monkey even more grateful, but also more conflicted.

Finally, in the quiet of midnight, he quietly got up, preparing to leave without saying goodbye.

However, to his surprise, as soon as he stepped out of the cave where the master and his disciples were resting, a voice behind him asked, "What are you afraid of?"

Liu Er paused, then abruptly turned around. Moonlight shone on the holy monk's white robe, making him appear almost divine: "I'm not afraid of anything..."

"If you're not afraid of anything, why did you leave without saying goodbye?" Qin Yao asked.

Liu Er remained silent for a long time before slowly lowering his head: "I'm afraid that I, whom you've personally taught, will truly become a monster in the future; at that time, there will surely be people who criticize you harshly. You are a good person and shouldn't be criticized like that."

Qin Yao shook his head and said, "Six Ears, if running away could solve the problem, then there would be no problem in the world."

Come back to sleep. No matter what difficulties and obstacles lie ahead, I'm ready to face them together with you!
Besides, didn't you say you were going to protect me?

In his view, if Liu Er were to leave like this, how could he possibly create the scenario that Liu Er learned those three supernatural powers during the teaching process?

That's why, even if there are difficulties and obstacles, he will force his way through and crush all obstacles in his path!

"Please, Holy Monk, explain to me again the true and wondrous secret of the perfect integration of exoteric and esoteric teachings," Liu Er said softly, his gaze gradually hardening.

Qin Yao nodded slightly, took the other person's hand and led them to a secluded place. He sat down on a blue stone and began to explain the true scriptures in a simple and easy-to-understand way.

During the explanation, he seemed to fall into a mysterious state, with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth surging into his body, causing his white kasaya to faintly emit a golden light.

Within the void.

The Five Directions Protectors, the Six Ding and Six Jia, the Four Duty Officers, and the Eighteen Guardians who were guarding Tang Sanzang all stared in disbelief at this scene, and the same word popped into their minds at the same time—enlightenment!
It was not uncommon in ancient times for someone to preach to others and then achieve enlightenment themselves, understanding the profound mysteries of the Tao. But nowadays…

More importantly, the one who had this sudden enlightenment was Tang Sanzang!
Why did Jin Chanzi have to be reincarnated as Tang Sanzang in order to obtain the scriptures?

Besides the disrespect shown towards Buddhism, another reason is that they were just ordinary mortals who went through eighty-one tribulations to finally obtain the true scriptures. This is a moving and inspiring story that inspires awe and wonder.

However, if Tang Sanzang were to become a spiritual practitioner, and a practitioner traveled 108,000 li (approximately 54,000 kilometers), his greatness would be greatly diminished.

Upon realizing this, the gods all changed color. After exchanging glances, the Golden-Headed Jiedi immediately flew to Mount Ling, while the Jiazi God King Wenqing followed closely behind to the Heavenly Court.

Xuanzang's pursuit of immortality was a matter of great importance, and they had no idea whether they should stop him. So they could only report the situation to their superiors and ask them to make a decision!
half an hour.

Western paradise.

Inside the Great Leiyin Temple.

When the Buddha, seated on his lotus throne, heard that Xuanzang had attained enlightenment, his expression faltered slightly, and he remained in a daze for a long time.

“Buddha, this matter is neither too big nor too small. Let us invite all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to come and discuss it,” Kasyapa said softly from the right side of the golden lotus.

The Buddha instantly regained his senses and nodded slightly: "Summon all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas."

After half a stick of incense.

The once empty Great Thunderclap Temple was now filled with Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, their radiant light dazzling, exuding sacred majesty.

The Buddha surveyed the entire assembly and said in a loud voice, “Not long ago, I received a report from the Golden-Headed Jiedi. It is said that Xuanzang attained enlightenment while preaching to a six-eared macaque and has now reached the profound level. If this is not stopped, he will surely point directly to the path of immortality. What do you all think about this?”

Before the words were finished, all the Buddhas changed color. The Buddha of the East, with a round head, bald on top but with a ring of long hair, immediately said, "Xuanzang is an envoy of our Buddhist sect. How can he cultivate immortality? This is absolutely not allowed."

“The Buddha’s words from the East are reasonable.”

Namo Ratna Moonlight Buddha spoke up in support: "Tang Sanzang must be unable to cultivate, otherwise wouldn't the eighty-one tribulations become a joke?"

Guanyin pondered for a moment and slowly said, "People change, and so does the calamity. Namo Ratna Moonlight Buddha is overthinking it."

At Mount Ling, Xuanzang's greatest backer was not Buddha, but Guanyin Bodhisattva.

If she doesn't step in to smooth things over at this point, the order to forcibly end Xuanzang's training will be issued to the Journey to the West team immediately...

“Precisely because people change and so do calamities, once Xuanzang embarks on his spiritual practice, the eighty-one tribulations will eventually be beyond our control.” The Buddha of the East said without hesitation, “From this perspective, we should stop Xuanzang from practicing.”

Guanyin shook her head and said, "Have you considered Xuanzang's feelings?"

"Personal feelings must be subordinate to the arrangements of the Buddhist Kingdom," the Buddha of the East said solemnly. "Otherwise, if everyone speaks of their personal feelings, how can the Buddhist Kingdom's system be maintained?"

Guanyin said, "At this critical moment, I do not agree with forcibly banning it."

Xuanzang came to obtain Buddhist scriptures for two reasons: first, he was entrusted by the Tang emperor, and second, he wanted to educate the people.

The eighty-one tribulations are a test, which is understandable, since the law should not be easily passed on.

But they've already reached a profound level, yet you insist on sealing them off. Isn't that too domineering?
On what grounds? What did Tang Xuanzang owe Vulture Peak?

The Buddha of the East retorted sharply, "You yourself said that the eighty-one tribulations are tests. If Xuanzang cultivates immortality, wouldn't that be equivalent to cheating? Moreover, to put it bluntly, Xuanzang is a monk. If he were to cultivate, he should cultivate Buddhism. Is cultivating immortality even reasonable?"

Guanyin: "..."

"We earnestly request the Buddha to immediately send someone to the Journey to the West group and order Xuanzang to immediately relinquish his supernatural powers."

While he remained silent, the Buddha from the East did not give up, but instead directly applied to the Tathagata.

Buddha pursed his lips and said, "Guanyin, is there anything else you would like to say?"

Guanyin breathed a sigh of relief and solemnly said, "I will only say one thing: now that the eighty-one tribulations are halfway over, the pilgrims have become deeply bound to the eastward spread of Buddhism during these tribulations. If the pilgrims are replaced, all the previous efforts will be in vain."

“Xuanzang is a man of great integrity, and the situation may not be as bad as you think.” The Buddha of the East knew he had won, and a smile appeared on his face.

The Buddha looked at him calmly and said indifferently, "If that's the case, then let the Buddha of the East take charge of this matter."

The Buddha of the East's smile froze.

No.

Xuanzang is the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi, who is your disciple and a direct descendant of Guanyin Temple. Why should I be the villain?! (End of Chapter)
