Chapter 1079 The Social Beast Weak Water Cricket
Chapter 1079 Social Beast - Weak Water Cricket
“Something’s wrong! Why do I hear a buzzing sound?” Caslo’s ears twitched and his brows furrowed.
"Something's not right! I heard it too!" Weiss stopped and his eyes flashed with seriousness.
"It's the movement of a magical beast!" Roland narrowed his eyes. Sharing his senses with Doss, he could clearly feel something approaching. Although it was more than ten miles away, a faint life fluctuation still flickered within Doss's perception range, proving that its life level was not very high.
"Wait a minute? What's that thing?" Roland communicated with Doss in his mind, because within the range of his mental power, there was an existence with a very high level of vitality, like a beacon in the darkness! Its vitality was frighteningly advanced!
"A high-level magical beast! No! More like a super magical beast! Not an ordinary high-level magical beast!" Doss's voice sounded strange.
"But this energy fluctuation... why is it so weak? A super magical beast shouldn't have this kind of energy fluctuation, right?" Doss asked in confusion.
"Form ranks!" Before Roland could speak, Caslo and Omske immediately ordered the soldiers to begin forming defensive ranks.
With Thorin's approval, the dwarven soldiers quickly formed a shield wall, blocking the Lagrang soldiers behind them. The elves also skillfully positioned themselves behind the Lagrang soldiers, ready to launch volleys. Because the allied forces had ample front-line troops, the rangers sheathed their scimitars and focused on drawing their bows and shooting arrows. The remaining scattered soldiers huddled on the flanks. Ravian, leading the Knights of the Bauhinia Cross and the Knights of the Fourteenth Legion, positioned themselves on both flanks, directly flanking the entire army. Whitewing led the Akvia cavalry and knights, following behind the Lagrang Knights as a reserve charge. The entire formation was efficient and concise!
"What do we do, sir?" The Dúnedan people surrounding Aragorn looked at him, unsure of what to do. After all, compared to the allied forces that had traveled a long way and cooperated all the way, they had only been with the army for a short time and had only fought against scattered orc tribes in the wasteland. They had little to no teamwork.
"We'll follow behind!" Aragorn looked at the already formed army formation and could only pray that the allied forces were strong enough not to betray their rear! He would be heartbroken if even one of these Northern Rangers died. The Dunedan people's long lifespan resulted in a small population, and their nomadic lifestyle made it impossible for them to support so many people. These eight hundred-odd men were the absolute main force of the Dunedan people. If anything unexpected happened, Aragorn could just kill them!
However, Aragorn quickly calmed down. Looking at the well-organized allied forces and the densely packed professional soldiers, Aragorn felt much more at ease. In particular, the two thousand-plus professional soldiers from the Kingdom of Lagrange stood like a wall in front of him, which put even the most worried person at ease!
……
"My God! Turin! That's Legolas!" Thorin exclaimed, instinctively pulling to the side but failing to grab Roland's arm.
"It's an elf! How bizarre! How could there be an elf here? And it even attracted a group of magical beasts?" Weiss raised an eyebrow.
"It's Legolas?!" Caslo rubbed his eyes, his vertical pupils filled with shock and surprise. After all, what was the Elf Prince doing here in the wilderness?
“Aragorn! You…” Roland reacted even faster. He turned his head to look in Aragorn’s direction and was shocked to see Thranduil riding a moon stag, holding Aragorn by the collar and a scimitar to his neck.
"Hey! Thranduil! Help!" Roland shouted, his voice, imbued with a touch of dragon power, instantly rousing Thranduil. Thranduil dropped Aragorn, brandished his scimitar, and charged out.
"People of the Woodland Kingdom! Forward!" Thranduil took the lead, directly commanding the Woodland Elves to step out of the formation and charge forward.
"Stop him! Retreat!" Roland was stunned by Thranduil's actions. Going into battle alone was one thing, but to disband the central army and charge his own formation? No wonder Thorin disliked him; he was incredibly emotional and prone to losing his temper... "Anyone who crosses this line! Slay!" Marquis Al-Tegran Franz, his entire body surging with battle aura, swung his longsword across the ground, creating a sword mark imbued with steaming earth-elemental battle aura that spread across the front of the formation.
Thranduil was immediately grabbed by Ormsk. Are you kidding me? A knight fighting a ranger of the same rank? You can escape from a knight (thumbs up), but a knight lets you get away (thumbs up flipped). What's more, this guy is a hero who has mastered all the skills of a knight, someone who can join the Champion Knights! So poor Thranduil was caught by Ormsk and instantly melted (not really).
"Let me go!" Thranduil roared, a glint of ferocity flashing in his eyes. He couldn't accept losing another loved one—his only son!
"Kaslow is gone! Don't cause him any more trouble!" Omske's large hand restrained Thranduil, and the power of light and shadow caused Thranduil's wind and wood elements to become chaotic instantly.
Upon hearing Omske's words, Thranduil's eyes regained some clarity, and he began to look up at the sky. Sure enough, Thranduil saw Kaslow's figure on the dragon's back. With a long roar from Kaldor, the entire dragon suddenly charged forward.
……
"Thank you!" Before Caslo could even make a move, Legolas had already flipped over and hooked onto the dragon's claw. This made Caslo take a sidelong look at the young elf, after all, it was rare to see someone with such jumping ability as a flea!
"Father!" Legolas, thrown back into the army formation, bumped into Thranduil who was charging towards him. Thranduil did not wait for Legolas to say anything and quickly checked on him, his eyes full of concern and urgency.
"I'm fine. Where's Aragorn?" Because of the estrangement between him and Thranduil, Legolas didn't talk to him much after bowing, but instead looked for Aragorn.
“I’m here! Legolas! Are you alright?” Aragorn asked, pulling Legolas along as he looked him up and down.
"I've figured it out! Those orcs haven't moved much throughout the winter, and I've basically found all of them!" Legolas said excitedly, pulling out a parchment map.
"So Aragorn was just thrown to the wastelands to be a scout like that?" Roland walked over at some point, arms crossed, looking at the audacious elven prince with a hint of admiration in his eyes.
"Alright, we'll talk about Aragorn later. Explain to me what's going on with these Weak Water Crickets," Roland said, pointing to the swarm of insects sweeping through the dragon's breath with a dark expression.
