Chapter 1094 Bilbo, We've Come to Our Appointment! (The Perfect Hobbit Series)
Although the River God is not considered a high-ranking figure in the pantheon, Roland immediately guessed that this old lady's divine kingdom was well-preserved, after all, the Willow River had flowed for countless years!
“That should be the river god of the Willow River, but he’s not really relevant to us now. Our target is Xia Er!” Roland shook his head, ending the conversation. It was clear that the two true gods were unwilling to take sides in the human civil war, so there was no need to worry about them for now; maintaining good relations was enough!
"Your Majesty, shall we go to Stagland?" Marquis Al Tegrand Franz glanced at the map. Stagland was located to the left of the Old Forest, below the Bridge of Spirits. It wasn't part of the Shire; rather, it could be called the Kingdom of Stagland! The original text described it as follows: Stagland, located between the East Bank of the Brandy River and the Old Forest, is the eastern border of the Shire. It is a hobbit settlement, with most of its inhabitants being members of the Brandy Deer family. Therefore, Stagland is not part of the Shire, but an independent small kingdom. Its capital is Stagtown!
"No need, our current destination is the Charles! We've been delayed too long on the road! Spring is almost here!" Roland frowned as he looked at the green shoots that were beginning to sprout around them.
Stag's Lands doesn't appear much in the games, books, or movies. The only thing we know is that it's probably the childhood home of Frodo, one of the main characters in The Lord of the Rings, and that it was once the site of a minor skirmish between the White Wolf and the North Pole...
“Once we cross the Liquor Bridge, we’ll be almost at Bilbo Baggins’s house, and we’ll be almost at By the Waterway!” Roland muttered, glancing at the landmark.
"Oh? So we'll be seeing Lord Baggins soon?" Thorin's eyes flickered, and a genuine smile instantly appeared on his face. Dvalin, standing beside him, scratched his head and laughed along.
“Yes…we’ll see Bilbo soon!” Roland looked at Thorin and suddenly felt his eyes well up with tears. He patted Thorin’s shoulder hard.
“I’ll go with you to see him this time!” Roland nodded.
"And me! Roland! Why am I never counted in the headcount? Am I even human?" Bard teased with a laugh.
"I was wrong, I was wrong!" Roland quickly whispered, trying to forgive him.
"You've already done pretty well. He never asks for my opinion, he just leads me into pits!" Thranduil shook his head at Roland. How many battlefields had this man taken him, who longed for peace, to? It seemed that all the great wars in the Woodland Kingdom were related to him... He was basically using the Woodland Elves as smugglers!
“Nonsense! I was helping you! Isn’t it doing you a favor by using your own elven troops to fight for you?” Roland rolled his eyes and uttered a profound truth.
"..." Thranduil rolled his eyes.
……
"Is this the place?" Thorin asked, looking at Roland.
“The Three Realms Stone is here. We should head north to the Riverside Road! Hobbiton is just one mile northwest of Riverside Town!” Roland looked at the map and gestured for a long time before finally deciding.
"So, we're just going to enter the Shire like this?" Aragorn rubbed his hands together, his eyes filled with uncertainty and confusion. The Dúnedan soldiers behind him were the same; although they had always protected the Shire and blocked the orcs from moving south, they had never entered the Shire on a large scale.
"Otherwise what? Should I go and report to Commander Charles?" Roland sneered. Commander Charles? He has several knightly orders!
"Won't this cause panic?" Bai Yi asked cautiously. As someone who had transformed from a nomadic tribe into a kingdom, he knew all too well the level of panic that would result from a strange army entering his territory! Not to mention the entire allied army of several thousand men with their banners waving!
"Alright, I'm scared!" Thorin said with a dark face as he looked at the hobbits who were closing their doors to visitors and running away with their food in their hands.
"Have the troops set up camp along the river later! Remember to stay away from the riverbed. Although the Bangshui River is a small tributary, we should still be prepared for flooding in the spring!" Roland looked at the situation of the allied forces and then at the terrain. It was indeed convenient to be near the water, but it was also dangerous! "I remember there is a Green Dragon Tavern in Bangshui Town..." Thorin stopped speaking, his eyes constantly glancing at Caslo.
"The green dragon can't even touch him! That's a storm dragon! There's a difference between wind and wood elements!" Roland said casually.
"Oh, I was worried he'd break a taboo and tear down the tavern!" Thorin chuckled.
“The Dragon Riders wouldn’t dare to attack a bunch of civilians, Your Majesty!” Caslo smiled amicably at Thorin.
“Then I suggest giving the soldiers a leave of absence. They can go to town to do some shopping! As long as they don’t get separated!” Thorin suggested.
"I think the dwarves have almost finished their wine and are going to buy more!" Bard ruthlessly exposed.
"Ahem! A little drink can warm you up! This wind is blowing like a knife!" Thorin argued, trying to gain Roland's sympathy.
"Alright! Let the soldiers have a few days off to shop and relax! The lords can arrange their own assembly areas! I only have one request: don't cause trouble!" Roland, however, had another thought in mind.
The Shire region is economically prosperous and its trade is thriving! Soldiers from the Lagrang Kingdom and the Dwarven Kingdom are not short of gold coins, and the remaining allied soldiers can easily pull out some copper and silver coins! This is undoubtedly a good opportunity to demonstrate the purchasing power of the Northern Alliance. Only when merchants see business opportunities and gold coins will they be willing to send caravans to the North to do business. Even the most timid merchants, driven by profit, will come to the foot of the Misty Mountains! The premise is that there aren't too many dangers along the way. It's fine if an orc occasionally jumps out to act as a bandit; trading is inherently risky. But a group of "heroes" would be much more entertaining!
“Marquis Franz! I’m giving you a task!” Roland turned to Marquis Al-Tegran Franz and said.
“Your Majesty, please give your orders!” Marquis Al-Tegran Franz said respectfully.
"Take our people to the Charles to have a good time. Meet here in three days! Remember my only requirement is to try not to cause trouble, and if you do, don't expose me!" Roland joked with a smile.
"Huh?" Marquis Al-Tegran Franz felt a sense of bewilderment, as if he had drawn his sword and looked around in confusion. What did he mean by "don't expose us"? Are we some kind of gang?
……
"Time flies! Thorin! It's already the Third Age 2954! When did we set off from here?" Roland exclaimed, looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar place.
“Yes! Thirteen years have passed, but it feels like it was just yesterday…” Thorin said nostalgically.
"It's a pity we can't gather all the people from back then! Balin went to the mines of Moria and became king, Gandalf traveled the world... Chillifili and the others stayed at Lonely Mountain to guard the kingdom..." Thorin said with a hint of sadness.
"It's already very good!" Roland patted him on the shoulder to comfort him, because without him, many of these people would have no future!
"Listen! What's that sound?" Bard's ears twitched, and a melodious flute melody mixed with piano music drifted over.
"It's the voice of an old friend!" Roland smiled slightly; the music playing in his ears was the same music from when they first met. (Refer to the background music from The Hobbit: The Shire!)
"Bilbo! We've come to keep our appointment!" Roland and Thorin exchanged a smile and knocked on the door of Bag End together!
My new book, "Fire Emblem: Lord of the Holy Light," should be available tomorrow. You can check it out. It's a low-magic, somewhat realistic Western fantasy novel about a lord, mainly focusing on farming and development.
