Chapter 57 Guidance
Did you offend someone?

Having trained extensively in the Mech Association over the years, Chi Rong immediately grasped the unspoken meaning in the other person's words.

Come to think of it, even disregarding his status as an intermediate academy teacher, Mr. Carlo is still a senior intermediate mecha pilot. Back in his younger days, he received numerous requests; the number of people stationed in the star system wanting him to build mechas could easily circle the planet more than halfway.

Later, after he became a teacher, he didn't have as much time to take on orders, only occasionally picking and choosing. Even now, the mechs he builds are highly sought after, making him one of the more talented young mech pilots in the galaxy.

Given their status, it would be a waste of their talent to participate in a planetary-level competition, yet they've come here today to serve as a lecturer. Furthermore, their explicit statement that they've offended someone immediately suggests a sense of helplessness.

"Did someone force you, teacher?" Chi Rong immediately realized.

She now has some influence within the Mech Pilot Association, so she's naturally willing to stand up for the teacher who helped her a lot in the past.

If it is indeed some petty person who has humiliated Mr. Carlo, and she has the ability to deal with it, she will certainly not let it go.

“It’s not what you think.” Carlo was somewhat amused but also quite relieved. “It’s alright. I came here voluntarily because I’ve been really bored lately with nothing to do, so I came out to relax. It’s also a good opportunity to teach the children.”

Chi Rong relaxed slightly upon hearing this, but was still somewhat uneasy. She asked hesitantly, "Are you sure you don't need the students' help? If you need it, I certainly won't refuse."

“You’re kind enough. But it’s just some unpleasantness between people, I won’t take it to heart. Besides, who would dare to bully me? I may be older than you, but I’m not so old that I’m blind, mute, or unable to walk,” Mr. Carlo said with a chuckle and a shake of his head.

Hearing this, Chi Rong surprisingly agreed. She didn't know much else, but this teacher was no pushover. Many people in the industry here in the galaxy said he was fiery and intolerant of any injustice, a personality trait that was often criticized.

If someone like that is being bullied and doesn't dare to speak up, no one would believe it if word got out.

Judging from the other person's expression, there was definitely something going on. But it was more likely what the other person said—that they were just bored and came out to participate in such an activity to relax. Therefore, Chi Rong quickly felt relieved and started chatting with this teacher she hadn't seen for many years, asking her for advice.

Mr. Carlo was also pleased to see this student he hadn't seen in a long time. However, after chatting for a while, he remembered the purpose of his visit and asked to go down to check on the learning progress of the participating children. He then said goodbye to Chi Rong and went downstairs.

Watching Carlo's departing figure, Chi Rong's smile and affection faded considerably, her expression becoming somewhat pale. She then bid farewell to Mr. Trean, turned, and left the conference hall. She seemed to have made contact via quantum computer along the way, her hurried departure leaving her destination unknown.

……

Jiang Hui, on the other hand, was still struggling to build the main structure. Although she had listened very carefully and tried her best to write down what the teacher said, she could barely make sense of it.

But watching others do it is a completely different experience from doing it yourself; it's incredibly difficult in practice.

It's like she knew perfectly well that the two small frames on the inner ribs of the mecha should be connected together. But when she actually tried to put them together, she found that she wasn't quite sure about the assembly angle, and no matter how she adjusted them, she couldn't get the two sides to connect perfectly.

This annoyed Jiang Hui, like seeing the road but still not being able to find the exact entrance, giving her a feeling of frustration and impatience.

She checked the disassembly sequence on the page again and found that it was indeed in that order; these two parts should be joined together before proceeding to the next step. So Jiang Hui patiently tried again twice, but still failed.

People say failure is the mother of success, but how long has she been stuck here? The main body was finished on both sides a long time ago, but this small part is stuck here. Jiang Hui is getting impatient and has a sense of frustration about not being able to find the right method. Things are not going smoothly.

When she was about to try again, her eyes suddenly swept across the room and she saw two small parts scattered in the upper right corner. A flash of inspiration struck her, and her hand unconsciously picked them up.

Here...yes...it should be about 0.1 micrometers to the side...adjust it slightly downwards...yes, this angle...it's just a little bit off...just a little bit...okay, that's it.

Jiang Hui gradually got into the zone, her eyes widening slightly. Her hands, which had undergone countless attempts at fine-tuning, did not tremble at all. She held a few small parts and slowly closed the two sides together.

She didn't even realize that her palms were sweating a little.

...It's almost done. Jiang Hui felt.

"Wait, classmate." A voice suddenly interrupted her, and Jiang Hui's hand slipped, causing her to fail. The subtle and mysterious feeling and state she had just experienced were instantly shattered.

Then, several parts that she had almost worked together to assemble also fell apart because of her sudden distraction.

Jiang Hui was furious. Who was it? How dare they ruin her good time? She almost succeeded just now.

Although Jiang Hui didn't know why she felt that way, she did have a feeling and a vague sense that she was almost successful—all she needed to do was to fit those parts together accurately.

The girl looked toward the person who had spoken, wanting to see who was ruining her good deed, but instead saw a face that was both unfamiliar and somewhat familiar.

The girl tilted her head slightly. Uh... this face seems to be the teacher who just gave her a lesson.

Ah, teacher?!
Why did they come? That was Jiang Hui's first thought; she was a little confused.

Carlo was also somewhat surprised, realizing he might have startled someone: "Did I scare you, kid? I'm sorry, I just wanted to remind you."

"Your installation angle is incorrect. You should assemble the two large sections first, and then install the two small parts. This will be more accurate. Otherwise, it will be difficult for you to adjust to the right angle, and the results may not be reliable."

Knowing that the other person wasn't looking for trouble, but rather there to guide her, Jiang Hui suppressed her anger and said, "Um... oh, I understand, thank you, teacher."

Her earlier anger seemed to have been suppressed all at once, although she was still disappointed that her progress had been disrupted. But the teacher was right; she did find it difficult to adjust the angle. It would probably be better to follow the teacher's advice, after all, she wasn't a professional.

Mr. Carlo then gave Jiang Hui some guidance on a few minor issues she encountered during the assembly process, which greatly benefited her and allowed her to complete the assembly of the main body in no time.
