Chapter 1766, page 399: Stimulation 1003
"What I'm about to tell you, you must not tell anyone!"

Annan called Babu and Ang, the two Blade Demons, into the stone house, secured the door, and returned to them, whispering something.

"Snort, snore, snore..."

The only sound in the stone house was Ruth's deep sleep.

The two Blade Demons exchanged a glance and nodded their narrow heads.

Annan pointed to the sleeping ratman: "It's Ruth."

The expressions on Babu and Ang's faces looked familiar; he had seen them on Martin before.

"All you need to know is that she is a spy planted by Lady Biros among the ratmen, possessing important intelligence, but she was cursed and lost her mind... After returning, she also had sex with Biros... Do you understand what my lady said?"

The two Blade Demons nodded in unison.

“Very good, now I will devise an escape plan.”

"Escape? Didn't you just arrive?" asked the Blade Demon, whose identity was unclear—it was unclear whether it was Babu or Ang.

"Doesn't this show how capable we are? The first three envoys died without finding anything, but we found Russ in less than half a day and successfully completed our mission!"

"When you go back, your brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, and maternal uncles will all be proud of you!"

The rat-man creature would never have imagined that it would flee overnight after only half a day of arrival; even High Priest Stunn could not have foreseen this!
This was Annan's chance to escape.

Annan's plan consisted of three steps:

The first step is to pretend to go to the quarry again.

The second step is to have the gargoyles lead them along the way.

The third step is to accept Biros's reward at the demon camp.

The simpler it is, the less likely it is to make mistakes.

In the far north, it gets dark as early as four or five in the afternoon, and in slightly worse weather, it can even be as dark as night just after noon.

While there was still some light in the sky, and running around at this time wouldn't arouse suspicion, Annan took two Blade Demons, woke up Russ, and began to carry out the plan.

Before they even left the camp, the ratman elder followed them like a fly.

"You devilish thing, what are you trying to do now?"

“I should be asking you that. You follow me everywhere I go. Are you afraid I’ll find out something?” Annan, as usual, turned the tables first.

The rat-man elder sneered, "I'm just afraid you'll run around and be eaten by my people."

"Wow, with the protection of the Ratman Elder, the first three envoys must be alive and well, right?" Annan said sarcastically, giving up on driving away the Ratman Elder.

Forcibly driving it away might make it suspicious. If it likes to follow, let it follow. With myself and two Blade Demons, subduing a ratman elder at close range is a piece of cake.

We can use it as a hostage, and maybe we'll even have the chance to be both a kidnapper and a hero, turning it back into Annam at the crucial moment, making it follow Free City wholeheartedly.

Looking up at the darkening evening sky, he saw the gargoyles circling above the camp; they were key to Annan's escape.

When they reached a distance where they could vaguely see the outline of the quarry under the night sky, Annan signaled to the gargoyles in the air.

"Do it!"

Babu and Ang were stunned for a moment. What did they mean by "take action"? The succubus hadn't said anything.

Annan had no choice but to immediately add, "Catch that rat-man thing!"

But the ratman elder had already reacted, letting out a shriek as his spine staff unleashed fel energy, striking towards Annam.

clang--

Fortunately, the guards didn't fail at the crucial moment. Babu and Ang raised their mantis-like serrated teeth, harder than steel, to block the fel energy, while the other attacked the ratman elder. Then, the two blade demons spun around, wielding their blades like tops, slicing through the fel energy shield of the mortal elder. "Olme, you think you can escape?"

Accompanied by the ratman elder's shrill, piercing laughter, the descending gargoyles were suddenly attacked—a ghostly green net woven from fel energy enveloped the camp, stained with green fire, melting as they fell.

The remaining gargoyles hurriedly pulled up.

"You ratman bastard, how dare you attack our allies! Aren't you afraid the Demon Lord will annihilate your camp?!"

"This is within the rules!"

Annan didn't know what the rules were, but the situation was not good; the ratman had actually anticipated that he would run away!

"Hold it off, and when we get back I'll have Lady Biros give your families a more important position!"

Annan grabbed Ruth and charged toward the gargoyle that had landed outside the fel web.

The two Blade Demons and the Ratman Elder were locked in fierce combat. With each turn, their sharp blades tore through the shield, leaving behind a patch of fel energy. However, the fel energy also clung to the blades like a poisonous weed, corroding the blades and leaving them pitted and uneven.

The more pain the Blade Demon felt, the faster it spun, the blades covering its body tearing through the air and emitting eerie "whooshing" sounds.

"I'm here to help you!"

Annan's shout suddenly rang out, and he pulled Ruth away and then returned.

It wasn't that he changed his mind, but rather that there were many rat people over there.

"You can't escape!" the ratman elder, shielded by a fel energy barrier, screamed with smug confidence.

Annan didn't answer, but suddenly looked behind the rat-man elder: "Annan, what brings you here?!"

"You think I'd believe such a lame lie?" the ratman elder sneered.

"What do you mean you've found a way to make the ratman elders betray the high priest?"

what? !

While the Ratman Elder was still in shock, the Lustful Demon threw out a box.

"Catch it! Don't let those rat-men get their hands on it!"

The box was ripped open mid-air, revealing a round object inside. Still wondering how this "devilish thing" knew about it, the rat-man elder instinctively caught the object that swept past his head; the feel was very familiar…

The mouse's pupils focused, making out what its paws were holding, before suddenly contracting.

The next moment, the fel energy erupting from the felstone instantly engulfed the ratman elder.

The explosion of fel energy is like a disintegration technique on any matter; everything within range is frantically corroded and digested by the green mist.

A moment later, the green light faded, and Annan lowered his arm that had been protecting him. A deep pit appeared where he had been standing, and the ratman elder lay half-dead at the bottom of the pit.

“I told you not to take it, but you insisted on taking it.” Annan shook his head helplessly.

As expected, the gray-haired rat has a certain immunity to fel energy. The fel stone exploded right next to its face, and instead of dissolving, it actually survived.

The two Blade Demons caught in the crossfire were badly injured, reduced to bones, so badly that even a kobold wouldn't want to give them meat; they were in a truly pitiful state.

With Blade Demon incapacitated, Annan stared at the motionless ratman with long hair at the bottom of the pit, feeling inexplicably uneasy. In the end, he chose to follow his instincts, abandoning the attempt to capture the ratman elder. He picked up the skeleton-like Blade Demon and broke through to another vulnerable spot.

“You…you want to escape…” Ruth was confused and tried to fight back, but was easily subdued by Annan, who had a full grasp of the succubus’s melee combat skills.

If I can't deal with the Ratman Elder, I can at least deal with you.

"Idiot, fool, moron, you're a lust demon, don't actually think of yourself as a ratman!"

The ratmen reacted quickly, and within two minutes, a horde of rats had gathered and surged toward them. Fortunately, their eyesight wasn't very good. Annan, carrying Russ, which looked like a large rat, shouted, "The ratman elder is in my hands. If you want him dead, then go ahead and charge!"
