Chapter 1928, Section 561, 2nd Legion Commander Rose

Chapter 1928, Section 561: Rose, Commander of the Second Legion

Even without a divine body, two-sixths of the Spider Queen Lolth wouldn't necessarily need to fear the Demon Lords—provided they weren't afflicted by a curse.

Now, once the Demon Lords discover "little spiders" tampering with their forces, they can only flee in disarray.

"Which one of me did you hatch from?"

Rose, brought into the spider's nest, saw a large number of Abyssal Spiders, which used the nest to breed their population. No wonder He spared His own minions. Without Dark Elves, it would be impossible to create Dark Spider minions.

He also saw a familiar abyssal spider, which had appeared beside his followers.

No wonder the Spider Queen knew everything she did, even the nickname "Little Spider".

"You'll know once I absorb you." The Spider Queen didn't answer His question. The spinnerets at the end of her abdomen sprayed out a large amount of spider silk, constructing a cage like a birdcage, and imprisoning Rose inside.

No one may enter without my permission.

He spoke to the abyssal spiders and left the spider nest amidst a dense rustling sound.

……

Devil Volcano.

The snow-capped mountain fortress that once defended against demons has been completely transformed into an active volcano that constantly churns lava.

Above the boiling lava pool in the center of the volcano, a scarlet, solidified demon eye floats quietly. Countless faint red threads emanate from the demon wizards surrounding the obsidian obelisk around the lava pool, amplifying the demon eye.

The Spider Queen's gaze was still weak, but the demonic eye, which grew larger each day, fell upon a pale palace beside the lava pool for a moment.

Stepping into the towering marble columns that resembled a ribcage, the Spider Queen surveyed the enlarged table prepared for the giants before taking a seat in the first row.

As soon as He took his seat, pinkish-red smoke rose from the end of the long table, and the succubus queen, with her long, slender legs crossed, appeared on the stone chair.

“You’re late, Second Legion Commander.” She parted her pink lips slightly.

The Spider Queen remained icy: "What do you want from me?"

"I need to know how well your subspace portal has been restored."

"You want to use it?"

“No, my task is only here.” The succubus queen admired her masterpiece.

Soon, the entire North will see that demonic eye gazing down upon the land. And she, the instigator of all this, will receive the Highlord's reward.

Isn't this much better than going to the front lines and suffering through countless battles?

"I'm just reminding you that the warp gate is almost complete and we need you to oversee it."

The Spider Queen raised her eight legs and walked out: "Don't worry, I'll make sure the passage is clear."

"That's good."

The Succubus Queen gazed at the Spider Queen's retreating figure, her narrow eyes gradually deepening.

This abyssal spider who calls herself the Spider Queen is not so simple, but since the Great Lord trusts her and has given her the position of Second Legion Commander... then at least for now, they stand together.

……

Rose's four pairs of eyes looked out of the cage formed by the spiderweb of divine power.

The Spider Queen had been gone for some time, leaving herself stranded here.

Just as He thought, as long as He deliberately exposed some flaws, such as so-called human nature, He would not be in a hurry to devour Him.

The venomous curses that haunted him would be a headache even for a fully-fledged deity, let alone someone with a disability.

Recalling the oppressive aura emanating from the Spider Queen, Rose guessed that She was a third version of herself. Very powerful, but not so powerful that she couldn't resist, and She carried several curses of the same origin as herself.

It will take Him some effort to get rid of these curses, which should free up some time for Him.

Rose, however, was unable to contact the outside world and could only hope that Annan and the silly cat would discover that they were missing soon.

Rose rummaged through her memories, trying to recall one escape method after another, but without exception, none of them would work in the moment. Then she suddenly remembered that she had left a mark on Annan.

Rose's eight compound eyes reflected the interior of the spider's nest and the silken cage that confined her, suppressing the urge to contact Annan.

Even if one is given a beastly nature, there will still be no shortage of intrigue and scheming.

Perhaps He is hiding in the shadows right now, with six eyes watching your every move.

Rose expended her divine power to explore the spider's nest, putting it into the queen's sight, using the test to conceal her true intentions.

……

The rainy season is gradually approaching.

The Obilis Strait brings abundant rainfall to both sides. The rain clouds arrive quickly and dissipate just as fast. Often, in the early morning, dense black clouds can be seen surging in from the sea, followed by torrential rain over Liberty City, only to disperse by noon, leaving a clear sky with rainbows on the horizon and white clouds reflected on the ground.

Annan's mood was like the weather at that moment, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the little spider.

In the northern part of the Empire, the Night Hawks withdrew from Meteor Town, and the 17th Squad of the Imperial Magic Rock Legion received orders to be stationed in Meteor Town.

It took them a day and a half to reach Meteorite Town, where they camped on a flat area at the edge of the basin that offered a panoramic view of the entire town.
As the watchtowers and walls were erected, at the same time, Brown, the vice-commander of the mage corps who had split up with the seventeenth squad, appeared at the mayor's mansion.

He presented the town mayor with an order issued directly by the Ministry of Military Affairs and personally signed by the Minister.

The order stated that the 17th Squad was to be stationed in Meteorite Town for observation, and the town mayor was required to cooperate with all of the squad's actions.

"Still have any questions?"

"No... Meteorite Town will do everything in its power to serve the Demon Rock Legion." The mayor's face was full of obsequiousness. "What can I do for you?"

"You don't need to do anything. Meteorite Town just needs to maintain the status quo."

Deputy Commander Brown gave the mayor some instructions before heading to the camp to meet up with the 17th Squad.

Upon entering the camp, Deputy Commander Brown ordered the centurion to summon all the captains.

"Lord Brown, what brings you here?"

"Why were we suddenly sent to garrison outside Meteorite Town, and why aren't we allowed to get involved in local operations?"

"What is our mission?"

The captains, having received orders but without being told what to do, all asked questions at once.

Brown tossed them a copy of *The Voice of Freedom* and told them to read it themselves. The captains huddled together and read aloud what was on it:
"Thanks to the joint investigation by Free City and the Empire, the Skaven's plot has been foiled. Their rat burrows and warp tunnels within the Empire have been destroyed... protecting the Empire once again?"

"Is this true?" someone asked a stupid question.

The Rock Legion was a security force; they never dreamed they would one day face off against the Ratmen.

Brown said, "Did you see those scattered pits on the way here? Those are the cavities left after the rat holes were destroyed."

One of the captains looked down at his feet: "So, there are still ratmen under our feet?"

"They have no food, no air, and won't survive for more than a few days."

Even if a few ratmen manage to escape, there are still some left to guard the area.
