“Yes! Twenty years!” Raul raised his hand to smooth his hair, which was wet from the wind and rain. “Back then, I was just a child, and you were still young. In the blink of an eye, we’ve both grown old.”

David raised an eyebrow. "I'm only forty-two, not old at all!"

Raul laughed against the howling wind, "If you say you won't get old, then you won't get old."

David paused for a moment, his brow furrowing as if he were thinking about something. "That island really does have that kind of medicine that can slow down aging."

“I don’t know!” Raul answered frankly, then tapped his head with his finger. “Maybe there is, but I don’t think it’s true. Birth, aging, illness, and death are a process, it’s a natural law.”

David took a breath. "Then why are you still so insistent on opening that door?"

"Maybe it's just curiosity?!" Raul's question seemed to be directed at himself, yet also at someone else.

"Do as you please!" David said, turning around. "I'm going back. Even if this ship is big, it still needs someone to command it."

"Alright!" Raul said nonchalantly, and after the other person had walked away, he muttered to himself, "The medicine is available, but the side effects are probably too much for you to handle."

Golden lightning ripped through the wind and rain in the sky, making a dull "crack" sound.

Accompanied by flashing light and shadow
A long shadow appeared beside Raul.

The shadow opened its mouth and said something to Raul.
"Sigh~" Raul sighed softly and scratched his head. "You mean Big Bear and Little Fox are missing?"

The shadow moved its mouth again, just like before.

“At this point, in this situation, I think they should be dead,” Raul said calmly. “We underestimated them. Well, that makes sense; they are the true orthodox ones.” Shadow wanted to say something more, but Raul waved his hand to stop him. “Call your men back to their rooms. Don’t go out again. Wait for the storm to pass, and we’ll deal with the rest once we get to the island.”

The lightning continued to rage across the sky, and a few seconds later, a muffled clap of thunder sounded.

"Boom~"

After the thunderous sound, the dog that had been beside Raul was gone.

Madeira's hull dipped slightly as it rose high.
The waves push the boat, and the boat presses down on the waves.

The steel keel emitted a continuous, low hum, mingling with the howling wind.

The rain was no longer dripping, but pouring down in large swaths across the deck, converging into torrents that surged out of the drain holes. The lights on the mast swayed violently, their beams of light breaking and piecing together on the soaked deck, flickering and uncertain.

The distant sea and sky had long since lost their boundary, just a rolling, bottomless expanse of inky blackness, occasionally torn open by a silent golden crack, momentarily illuminating countless churning, white waves before fading back into even deeper darkness.

All that could be heard were the wind, the rain, the sea, and the muffled groans emanating from every joint of this behemoth as it struggled against the forces of nature.

Raul turned around, ran his fingers through his hair again, and muttered to himself, "It really is time to go back."

Captain's cabin.

All four people have been subdued, knocked unconscious, tied up tightly, and thrown to the ground.

Xu San, holding the nautical logbook, looked through it and said to Lisa, "See? I didn't kill any of these people." (End of Chapter)
