The heavens set sail from the courtyard

Wang Gang did not stop Mi Lai from drinking; instead, he brought her another dozen beers so she could drink her fill.

Having been betrayed by both her boyfriend and best friend, Mi Lai is in great pain and needs to vent.

As Mi Lai's friend, Wang Gang naturally helped her vent and stayed by her side during her most vulnerable time.

"Gao Qiang, let's have a drink." Mi Lai took out a bottle of Budweiser and chugged it straight from the bottle.

"Alright, let's drink until we drop tonight." Wang Gang also took out a bottle of Budweiser and started drinking with Mi Lai.

Mi Lai finished a bottle of beer in one go, while Wang Gang only took a sip and didn't drink much to avoid getting drunk and being unable to take care of Mi Lai.

"Are you raising fish here? You've only drunk so little." Mi Lai said with dissatisfaction when she saw that Wang Gang's beer level had only dropped a little bit.

"Come on, have another drink." Wang Gang handed Mi Lai another bottle.

Manny always gave Mi Lai small bottles of Budweiser. Wang Gang observed that Mi Lai's physical condition was quite good, so he didn't stop her from drinking.

Miley quickly got drunk and started acting crazy.

"Who is Lu Tao? How dare he dump me? My suitors could circle the capital city. What right does he have to dump me?" Mi Lai shouted, one foot on a stool and the other holding a beer.

"Yes, yes, you're right. Miss Mi Lai is fair-skinned, beautiful, and has long legs. Lu Tao must be blind to break up with you!" Wang Gang let Mi Lai vent her frustrations and even chimed in.

Bar owner Manny noticed that something was wrong with Milai and quickly ran back to ask, "Gao Qiang, I told you to keep an eye on Milai, why are you still making her drink?"

Wang Gang explained, "She insisted on drinking it, and I couldn't stop her!"

Manny rolled her eyes at Wang Gang and quickly stopped Mi Lai, who still wanted to drink.

"Grandma! You can't drink anymore."

"Sister Manny, you're here! I'm so happy today, I've booked the whole bar!" Mi Lai leaned against Manny and laughed heartily.
"Let's drink together. You're not allowed to leave until you've had your fill of drinks."

Manny said irritably, "You're already drunk. I'll call Uncle Mi and have him come pick you up."

"No way!" Miley exclaimed excitedly, "No one is allowed to disturb my drinking today."

"Milai, you really can't drink anymore," Manny said helplessly.

Mi Lai retorted, "Sister Manny, are you afraid I'll cheat you out of your money for drinks? I have plenty of money."

As she spoke, Mi Lai pulled a black card from her bag, threw it on the table, and shouted, "Take it and swipe it however you like, no PIN required."

Manny supported Mi Lai, feeling that she could barely stand, and couldn't help but glare at Wang Gang.

"Gao Qiang, what are your true intentions in getting Mi Lai forced to drink this?"

“Mi Lai’s best friend stole her boyfriend,” Wang Gang sighed.

"Ah!" Manny exclaimed in surprise, "Charlene?!"

Wang Gang asked, "You know Xia Lin too?"

Manny frowned deeply and said, "Milai has brought Charlene here a few times, and they have a very good relationship! How could Charlene do such a thing!"

Wang Gang said, "That's why Mi Lai is in even more pain! She wants to numb herself with alcohol."

Manny sighed softly, helped Mila sit down, and advised, "Mila, it's not worth hurting yourself for someone like that!"

Upon hearing this, Mi Lai's eyes reddened, and she suddenly burst into tears, throwing herself into Manny's arms.

"Sister Manny, I'm in so much pain, my heart is aching so much! How could Lu Tao and Xia Lin do such a thing behind my back!"

When Miley cried, Manny's heart ached.

"Milai, try to look on the bright side."

"I can't let it go!" Mi Lai suddenly raised her head and said fiercely, "Why is it that the people who hurt me are having a good time while I'm in so much pain?"

Manny comforted her, "Milai, your pain shows that you are a kind person. It's not worth ruining yourself for those bad people." As she spoke, Manny's eyes dimmed, as if she was recalling some unpleasant past events.

Wang Gang had long suspected that Manny was someone with a story, but he never had the habit of prying into other people's privacy.

"Sister Manny, let Mi Lai drink her fill! Let her get completely drunk, have a good sleep, and tomorrow will be a brand new day," Wang Gang said to Manny.

“I’m afraid her body won’t be able to handle it if she drinks any more,” Manny said worriedly.

"I'm watching her, she'll be fine." Wang Gang was quite confident in his medical skills.

“You’re not a doctor,” Manny said irritably.

Wang Gang touched his nose, thinking that there was probably no better doctor in the whole world than himself.

“If you don’t let Mi Lai vent, she’ll feel even worse if she keeps it all inside,” Wang Gang said. “If you’re worried, why don’t you drink with Mi Lai?”

Seeing Mi Lai's grief, Manny gritted her teeth and said to Wang Gang, "Help me take Mi Lai to my house. We have some hangover medicine there."

Wang Gang agreed, "No problem."

Manny pulled out a car key and asked, "Can you drive?"

Wang Gang laughed and said, "I got my driver's license right after graduating from high school, so I'm an experienced driver."

Manny tossed the car keys to Wang Gang and helped Mi Lai up.

"My car is parked outside, could you help me with Mila?" Manny asked for help.

The two helped Mi Lai outside the bar. Wang Gang pressed the unlock button on his car key, and the headlights of a BMW 5 Series parked on the roadside flashed twice.

Wang Gang and Manny worked together to help Mi Lai to the back seat of the car, and then Manny got in and sat with Mi Lai in the back seat.

Wang Gang then sat in the front driver's seat.

“Let’s find another place to drink,” Mila said excitedly, patting the car seat.

"Grandma, just calm down for a bit! When we get to my house, you can drink to your heart's content." Manny hugged Mila to stop her from causing trouble.

"I want to drink, to drink my fill!" Mila leaned against Manny, drunkenly exclaiming, "Manny, you smell so good!"

Wang Gang adjusted the rearview mirror and then asked, "Manny, what's your address?"

Manny helped Mila fasten her seatbelt before giving her an address.

Wang Gang discovered that Manny's home was not far from the bar, only a fifteen-minute drive away, and it was a rather upscale apartment building.

During the short ride in the car, Mi Lai had already drifted off to sleep.

Following Manny's instructions, Wang Gang parked the car in the apartment's underground parking lot, in his designated parking space.

"Let Mi Lai get some sleep!" Manny said tenderly, resting Mi Lai's head on her shoulder. Then she whispered to Wang Gang, "You can go ahead if you have something to do. I can take good care of Mi Lai."

Wang Gang turned off the engine, without removing the key, and said, "I have nothing to do anyway, so I'll sit with you for a while."

Manny looked down at Mi Lai, who was fast asleep, and then turned to Wang Gang and said, "Aren't you Lu Tao's friend? Why are you so concerned about Mi Lai?"

Wang Gang said coldly, "I can't stand how Lu Tao treats Mi Lai, so we've broken up."

Manny was slightly surprised. After a few seconds of silence, she finally spoke, "You like Mila?"

Wang Gang shook his head and said, "I only consider Mi Lai a friend, I don't have those kinds of feelings for her."

Manny said disbelievingly, "But I feel that your concern for Mila is not that simple."

Wang Gang turned to look at Manny, a half-smile playing on his lips, and said, "What if I said I'm more interested in you?"

Manny, feeling the intense gaze of Wang Gang, lowered her head slightly in a flustered manner. (End of Chapter)
