Chapter 1379 War breaks out

Chapter 1379 War breaks out
Donbass Defense Line.

Compared with Russia, Ukraine, which had just gained independence, was obviously a very weak country. The flat and open terrain of Ukraine further increased the difficulty for Ukraine to deal with the Russian invasion.

Of course, from Russia's perspective, Ukraine was originally a part of Russia, so it should be called the recovery of lost territory. However, due to the special attributes of the Russian Labor Party, the occupied areas such as Ukraine should be treated in the name of "liberation."

Russia's ambition does not stop there. Liberating Ukraine and other former territories of Tsarist Russia is only the first step. The second step is to liberate all of Eastern Europe, and the fourth step is the whole of Europe, and finally extending to the whole world.

Therefore, in order to prevent being "liberated", the Ukrainian government naturally built the Donbass Defense Line, seeking to use this line of defense to fight against Russia.

On the western side of the Donbass defense line.

Ukrainian Marshal Doroshenko stared at the military map with a worried look on his face, thinking about how to deal with the Russian Red Army.

He is surrounded by a group of high-ranking Ukrainian generals. Facing the giant Russia, Ukraine obviously has no confidence of winning.

"The terrain of the entire Ukraine is flat and not conducive to defense. When Ukraine gained independence, it would have been great if the Allies could have taken over the entire eastern Ukraine in one fell swoop. We would not have been so passive," said Ukrainian General Volosivka.

The so-called Allied Forces naturally refer to the Central Powers' army during World War I. Because in the later stages of the war, the Allies and the Russian Labor Party reached an agreement and both sides redivided Ukraine based on the actual control areas, so Ukraine is not complete.

Doroshenko said: "It is no longer meaningful to discuss this now. Now we should pray that the Donbass defense line can support us in dealing with a possible large-scale offensive launched by Russia."

That being said, almost all Ukrainian generals are not optimistic about the so-called Donbas defense line.

Although World War I proved that trench warfare had become the main form of warfare at that time, trench warfare was actually not very friendly to both the attackers and defenders.

Especially in terms of consumption of personnel and materials, Ukraine happens to be Ukraine's biggest shortcoming. Russia at that time was not like the lame Russia in the previous life, which was afraid of war because of population problems.

Russia's current population is over 100 million, while Ukraine's population is less than 20 million. Apart from this, Ukraine's industry is almost negligible.

Therefore, Ukraine's response to Russia is just like an agricultural country responding to an industrial country. In terms of other data, Ukraine seems to have a huge gap with Russia, except for international relations.

Marshal Doroshenko said: "Although our opponents are very powerful, we are not completely at a disadvantage. We have the support of the mainstream civilized world behind us, whether it is Germany, Austria, Britain, France, or even the United States outside of Europe, they all stand on our side."

The reason why there is no East Africa is very simple. There is still a Tsarist Russian government in exile in East Africa, and the Tsarist Russian government in exile obviously does not agree with Ukraine’s so-called "independence". In terms of maintaining national unity, the attitude of the Tsarist Russian government in exile is even more resolute than that of the Russian Labor Party.

Moreover, the reason why Britain, France, Germany and Austria support the current Ukrainian government is to prevent East Africa from using the Tsar to control the former Russian princes.

As for extending its reach to Eastern Europe, Britain did not want East Africa to break through the barriers and enter Europe, while Germany and Austria-Hungary considered it entirely from a market perspective.

You know, Eastern Europe has always been an important traditional market for Germany and Austria. During World War I, Germany and Austria did not expand their overseas markets through the war, so after the war they paid more attention to the traditional markets of the two countries.

Therefore, driven by interests, the two countries tacitly excluded East Africa from Eastern Europe, which is actually a serious stab in the back for East Africa.

After all, during the Tsarist era, trade between Russia and East Africa was very frequent, and because of Russia at that time, East Africa could also enter the Ukrainian market through trade.

Today, the Ukrainian government is actually a puppet supported by Germany and Austria. Naturally, it takes Germany and Austria as the leaders in everything. Germany and Austria intend to exclude East Africa from the Eastern European market. Naturally, the Ukrainian government acts according to the arrangements of the two countries.

Therefore, East Africa and European countries have differences on the Ukrainian issue. In this case, East Africa will naturally not contribute to the so-called Ukrainian People's Republic.

After all, East Africa already had its own Russian spokesperson supported by itself, namely the Tsarist Russian government in exile headed by Alexei.

From this we can see that the world is bustling with people, all for profit; the world is bustling with people, all for profit. When faced with real interests, the so-called German national sentiment is completely nonsense.

Poland, Ukraine and other regions have a total population of more than 40 million. Germany and Austria certainly want to take over such a huge market.

The same is true for the Ottoman Empire. After the war, Germany and Austria tried every means to eliminate the influence of East Africa in the Ottoman Empire.

This is also one of the main reasons why East Africa was assigned to Iran. Neither Britain nor Germany wanted East Africa to get too close to the Ottoman Empire. After all, apart from Britain and East Africa, the Ottoman Empire was the only major power along the Indian Ocean coast.

For Britain, an important reason why the outcome of World War I was not ideal was that the Ottoman Empire and East Africa were too close, which resulted in the Allies' inability to completely block the Central Powers' foreign economic and trade channels.

As for Germany, before World War I, Germany actively wooed the Ottoman Empire and built the Baghdad Railway. In fact, before World War I, the Ottoman Empire had become Germany's economic colony, so Germany did not want East Africa to pick the peaches it had worked hard to cultivate.

Of course, the dirtiness and conflicts between imperialist countries are not too important to Doroshenko. The relationship between this East African country and Ukraine has always been average, especially the exile of the Tsarist Russia supported by East Africa, which makes the Ukrainian government feel like a thorn in its throat.

Marshal Doroshenko continued: "With the support of Germany, Austria and other countries, as long as we can withstand the military pressure from Russia in the early stage and show our value, we can get more military assistance."

"Especially in the case of competition from countries like Poland, whoever can demonstrate higher combat effectiveness will be able to get more real money, weapons and ammunition."

That's right, Poland is Ukraine's biggest competitor. After all, both countries rely on military aid, and military aid is obviously limited. If Poland gets more, Ukraine will get less.

In fact, the Polish government is indeed more militant than the Ukrainian government. Even Ernst had to admire the courage of the Poles. At the beginning of its independence, Poland could not wait to launch a small-scale military operation against Russia.

The history of the past also proves that no country is more active than Poland in opposing Russia. Poland's active and suicidal behavior makes the Ukrainian government seem a little passive.

Doroshenko said: "Now the situation is very clear. Although Britain, France, Germany and Austria all support us, we certainly cannot fully trust these powerful countries. After all, the strength of Ukraine and Russia is too different. Before other countries do not organize troops to help us fight against Russia, there is only one thing we have to do, and that is to defend the Donbass defense line."

"The Polish government may be very happy now, but this will make them the most likely target of attack by Russia. We must not be as blindly arrogant as the Poles."

Doroshenko's words also prove one point, that is, the current attitude of the Ukrainian government's top leaders towards Russia is mainly passive defense.

Although the Ukrainian government is well aware that Russia is Ukraine's mortal enemy, they do not want to confront Russia immediately, especially when other countries only provide weapons and supplies and help Ukraine train its army but do not send troops, which makes Ukraine feel very insecure. In fact, it is not that Britain, France, Germany and Austria do not want to send troops, but that they do not have the ability to do so. The major European countries that have just experienced World War I are now very war-weary and have not yet recovered from the trauma of the war.

If it were to join another war, there would be a high probability that it would completely arouse the dissatisfaction of the people of various countries with the government, thus shaking the foundation of its rule.

In addition, the intrigues among imperialists were also an important influencing factor. After experiencing World War I, it was impossible for the soldiers of Britain, France, Germany and Austria to unite to fight against the Russian army.

Just think about it, they were fighting to the death yesterday because of different camps, but today they changed their attitudes and became close comrades-in-arms. This kind of thing is impossible.

Therefore, the support of various countries for Ukraine can only remain in the form of military aid, but cannot really take action.

……

Moscow.

Ukraine does not want to confront Russia immediately, but the Russian Labor Party government obviously does not think so, and its ideas are very different from those of the Ukrainian government.

Although the Russian Labor Party hates Poland, the jumping clown, Vladimir and other Russian leaders still want to recover Ukraine first from a practical point of view.

There is no other reason for this than that Ukraine is far more important to Russia than Poland.

First of all, Ukraine was an important granary in the Tsarist era. Although Russia has a vast territory, most of its land is not conducive to agricultural development due to climatic reasons. Therefore, from the perspective of food security, it is impossible for Russia to abandon Ukraine.

Secondly, eastern Ukraine, that is, the east bank of the Dnieper River, was originally one of Russia's important industrial bases, so the Russian government must recover this area.

Finally, Ukraine is related to Russia's access to the sea. With the loss of Ukraine, Russia also lost the important region of Crimea.

So, from these perspectives, Ukraine is far more important than Poland.

1921 8 Month 21 Day.

Vladimir convened a military meeting in Moscow.

"Today, regions such as Poland and Ukraine are being rapidly armed with the support of imperialist countries, and our personnel in these regions are ready."

"So, I think now is a good time for us to regain Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic region. Otherwise, in the future, we will pay a greater price to regain these lost territories."

"Now is the time when European imperialist countries are at their weakest. Having just experienced the world war and the European flu, it is impossible for European countries to directly send large-scale troops to Ukraine, Poland and other regions."

"Therefore, we should take advantage of this great opportunity to liberate regions such as Ukraine and Poland and allow them to return to the embrace of their motherland."

Regarding Vladimir's judgment, someone also asked worriedly: "Comrade Vladimir, in the past six months, imperialist countries have exported a large amount of weapons and equipment to puppet governments such as Ukraine and Poland."

"This has led to the rapid expansion of the Ukrainian and Polish armies to more than 600,000 troops, with the number of puppet troops on the border alone exceeding 300,000."

"They have obtained a large amount of weapons and supplies from the Central Powers and the Allied Powers during the World War, and have received training from the imperialist countries. It is hard to say whether we can break through the enemy's defense line in the first place if we send troops now."

"And if the war develops into a trench warfare model like the World Wars, it could lead us into a war of attrition with these puppet states."

Regarding this issue, Vladimir explained: "Don't overestimate the puppet troops in Ukraine and Poland. Although they are armed by imperialist countries, they are still the old armies and old warlords of the Russian Empire in essence."

"Just like hooligans, if they have not undergone ideological transformation, even if they put on a suit, they are still hooligans at heart. They will not change just because they are wearing fancy clothes."

“Similarly, even if the puppet army received military assistance from imperialist countries, they would not be able to be like our working class troops, who are not afraid of sacrifice and dare to fight for their ideals and the great cause of mankind.”

"Their fighting spirit is extremely weak because most of them are still exploited, oppressed and discriminated against by the old bureaucracy."

"And this is reflected on the battlefield. They will not sacrifice their lives for those high-ranking old bureaucrats, aristocrats and capitalists. So even if they hold weapons supported by imperialism, they cannot make full use of these advanced weapons and equipment."

"This kind of army will collapse at the first blow when facing our brave soldiers on the battlefield. At the same time, we not only have brave soldiers, but also nearly 40 million people in enemy-occupied areas fighting with us."

"As long as we organize them, the enemy's railways and roads will be paralyzed. At the same time, under the leadership of our party, we will cooperate to seize the military strongholds and important towns in the enemy-occupied areas..."

“Therefore, victory in this war will definitely be on our side. We have the support of more than 100 million people behind us. This is the core reason why no imperialist country can stop us from liberating the people in Ukraine, Poland and other regions.”

So, after Vladimir unified his thoughts, the entire Russian war machine started up again. However, unlike the last time with Nicholas II, the Russian people under the leadership of the Russian Labor Party actively participated in the war to liberate their compatriots in Eastern Europe.

Russian people enthusiastically joined the army, factory workers took the initiative to work overtime to produce supplies needed for the war, and systems such as railways also operated efficiently.

In this positive atmosphere, in mid-September 1921, Russia officially launched a war to recover lost territories including Ukraine.

On the front line, the Russian army, with three times the force advantage, advanced into the three Baltic countries, Poland and Ukraine, and the two sides fought fiercely on the border.

The Russian Labor Party's brazen dispatch of troops immediately caused an uproar in the international community, and it also plunged the imperialist countries, especially the European governments, into a state of panic.

Especially Germany and Austria-Hungary, after the outbreak of the war, they were suddenly caught in an awkward situation. Whether to send troops or not became the most tangled issue for the two countries.
