Chapter 1935, Section 1907: The Enemy Approaches the City

Chapter 1935 1907. The enemy is at the gates.
"What's wrong?" Dolores asked, pulling his male hunter's hat up his head as he walked up behind Gideon Ofnir and entered the Round Table Hall. "You're in a hurry, Gideon."

"Rakad's army will arrive at the gates of Rodel soon."

Jazz Bai Zhi's voice remained deep and husky.

However, the fading individuals present were quite familiar with this serious and heavy tone, so they didn't feel anything special about it.

"Isn't this something we already knew?"

[Dragonlance] Vic held his helmet, puzzled.

[The Lone Mage] Viherer remained calm, detached from his conversation with Baglem, and turned to glance at Sir Hundred Wisdom.

"What's causing your emotional distress is probably not Laqad's army?"

Gideon Ophniel nodded to the calm, deep-seated magician.

“Yes, it’s not Lakad’s army.” After a pause, a sigh came from the darkness of Baizhi’s helmet, “...the border garrison commander of Nimgford, [Limb Extension] Geffia, he’s here too.”

As Gideon Ofnier's words fell to the ground, the Faded Ones around the Sword-Sticking Round Table reacted in various ways.

Some rubbed their foreheads and sighed softly. Some frowned and remained silent, while others narrowed their eyes dangerously.

"Is the information reliable?" Dolores was the kind of person who felt a headache coming on. "He's bringing an army with him from Ningmgefu to the Altan Plateau? There's an entire Lienia in between! Did the local forces in Lienia just give him military passage so easily?"

Sir Hundred Wisdom's fingers stroked the rounded head of his metal cane: "Judging by the time, it seems that Goughia immediately raised an army and rushed here without hesitation after the news of the Blessed King's ascension to the throne reached Nymgford."

“He was in a hurry and certainly couldn’t bring many troops. At most, it was an advance force.” [Gathering Beasts] Bernal stroked his chin, analyzing based on his experience. “But Ningmgefu is a vast territory, and it has been peaceful and recuperating since being conquered by the dynasty. As the border garrison commander, Gefya’s abilities are evident to all. The troops that follow will probably arrive in droves.”

“Even the locals of Lienia probably can’t stop him,” Lann said, raising his hand. “The civil war between the Kalia royal family and the Real Lucaria Academy has been going on for over two hundred years.”

“Originally, although Princess Lani of the Moon lived a secluded life, she still possessed the status and power of a demigod, so the academy dared not push her too hard. But now we all know that as the mastermind behind the Black Knife Plot Night, she is hiding herself and is even less likely to show herself.”

"Not only will she not show herself, she will hide even deeper. But her men, in order to cover for her, will display even greater ferocity than in the previous two hundred years. The battle in Lienia will become visibly more intense."

"Under these circumstances, neither the Caria royal family nor the Reyalukalia Academy would likely have the ability or the will to intercept the path of a powerful dynasty's great lord, especially when they are certain that the great lord's goal is unrelated to them."

Twofinger did not tell anyone about the sight of Lani's physical body that He had seen at the Tower of the Gods in Leenia.

Because He no longer cares about this matter. As long as Lani doesn't disrupt His plans or block His path anymore, He doesn't care about Lani at all.

He didn't have the time to care what this demigod or god-man wanted to do; that was something he only needed to do because he had his eye on Lani's two fingers.

Whether Lani's physical body is dead or not has no impact on Lann's deduction. In any case, she definitely won't show up during this period.

"Let's get back to the point," the woman in men's clothing still seemed somewhat skeptical, "Is this information absolutely accurate, Baizhi?"

"You know, the world is a dangerous place these days. Don't forget how Servis almost... we both knew him before."

Dolores was clearly terrified after being tricked by Servis during the previous night of the Black Knife Plot.

The royal magic professor from the Caria who was killed by Lann that night was an acquaintance of both Dolores and Gideon Ofnir.

If it weren't for this relationship, she wouldn't have let her guard down beforehand.

Given Dolores' experience and caution as a Faded One, even if she died on the spot, it was unlikely that she would be trapped by the opponent's magic circle. As a result, when Lann and Torisa arrived there, she was almost turned into a puppet.

The reaction of women who dress as menswear now is more like, "Once bitten, twice shy."

Gideon Ofnier clearly didn't want to dwell on this pointless issue: "This is information I've confirmed from multiple sources. My men aren't capable of colluding like this without me noticing. They're not that capable."

“This is truly…” Even the usually calm and rational Viherer frowned, sensing the difficult situation, his lips pressed tightly together beneath his beard. “What about Twofinger? Is Twofinger reacting to this?”

Speaking of two fingers, Gideon Ofnir, though slightly hunched, had a remarkably steady body. He subconsciously raised his head slightly, but quickly returned to his original position.

“I have already met with him privately,” Bai Zhi said calmly, “but Twofinger has nothing to say about it. He seems to have more important things to do right now and doesn’t have the energy to focus on this.”

“The enemy is already at our gates,” Baglem said, his brow furrowed in deep thought. “They’re even close to forming an alliance. Is there anything more important now?”

[Two-Finger Spy] Krep glanced at Baglem with displeasure and a warning look: "Don't use mortal thinking to speculate about Two-Finger. Two-Finger can directly connect with the Supreme Will. What a noble piece of information that is!"

White Wolf War Demon waved his hand, indicating he didn't want to argue.

He just kept looking at Sir Hundred Wisdom: "And what about the Blessed King? This is his dynasty!"

“He also has more important things to do,” Gideon Ofnir said slowly but meaningfully, “at least that’s what he said when I had my audience.” The Faded Ones’ expressions changed, but most of them looked thoughtful.

At this critical juncture, both key figures simultaneously claim to have more important matters to attend to. This essentially makes it clear that they are working together on something.

Since the two highest-ranking figures of the two golden dynasties have said so, the faded ones can't ask for anything more and can only accept it.

In the hall with the sword-studded round table, the Faded Ones pondered the current situation and the implied meanings in their negotiations with Two-Finger and the Blessed King.

However, a distant horn sounded from outside the round table hall.

The room full of faded figures stood up at the same time, their heavy or light armor and clothing making a clanging and rubbing sound.

Too many changes have happened in the royal city of Rodel recently, from the assassination of Prince Godwin to the shattering of the Elden Ring.

The commotion basically enveloped the entire border area in an instant.

Therefore, the people of Rodríguez today are extremely sensitive and panicked about such a big commotion.

As soon as the horn sounded, a cacophony of noise and panic erupted in this magnificent and sacred city.

However, the Faded Ones were seasoned veterans, and they immediately recognized that this was merely the sounding of war horns, not yet another upheaval that could cause a global catastrophe.

It's both funny and terrifying... The war on the border, in this divine dynasty, is surprisingly a relaxing disaster.

At least the damage it caused was mostly around the battlefield, unlike the collapse of laws and the shaking of blessings, which are disasters that change the rules of the world and directly cover the entire world.

"It seems that Laqad has arrived."

Lan En spoke in a low voice, and the Faded Ones became solemn, exchanging silent glances before finally leaving the Round Table Hall together and heading towards the walls of Rodel.

Today, the weather on the Asian Plateau is bright and cool, and the golden trees still radiate a soft and bright light.

The wind blowing across the entire plateau carries the scent of the golden grasslands.

Outside the royal city, a grim military formation had been laid out on the city walls, which had only been breached once in the long history of the ancient dragon.

The knights and soldiers of Mount Gemir, clad in black robes, stood in a neat and dense formation, the red edges of their robes resembling lava and flames.

Spears stood tall, and iron shields formed a mountain!
This was not the first time Lan En had seen such a well-organized and imposing army.

In the world of Arda, the elves' formations are equally disciplined and their minds are in perfect harmony.

It seems that no matter which world it is, immortal beings always have enough time to polish something to near perfection.

Compared to the generally light and slender Arda elves, the army of Rakad was more robust.

The front ranks of the army had stopped, while the soldiers in the rear ranks continued to advance and spread out laterally, changing from a long marching formation to a confrontational formation.

Laqad himself stood at the very front of the army.

Even on the battlefield, he still wore an elaborate robe and a full set of gorgeous jewelry, dressed as a dignified civil official or nobleman.

But no one would think he was out of his mind or not in a fighting state because of this.

He was, after all, a demigod.

Moreover, in the years before, he had demonstrated strong abilities and become a powerful demigod from a powerful maternal relative.

Even if such a person's appearance is completely unrelated to bravery, people will only think that he is perhaps exceptionally skilled in magic or eloquent in prayer, and will never think that he is weak.

The city walls of Rodel form a broken circle, the missing part representing the direction in which the city is backed by the cliff and the trunk of the golden tree.

Its two city gates are located in the southwest and northwest respectively.

The northwest city gate is directly connected to the Gmir volcano, so Laqad's army is currently blocking the way there.

Atop the towering city walls, Gideon Ophniel looked around.

The city needs strong guards, and so does the other city gate.

In the wars of the Age of Gods, the rivalry between the strongest was of paramount importance.
