After the old miner and the overseer left, the entire cell was deathly silent.

Only heavy or faint breathing could be heard rising and falling in the dim light.

Nearby were several silent miners, some lying down, some leaning against the fence, their eyes vacant as they stared into the darkness beyond the fence, as if their souls had been emptied by the three hours of life-or-death struggle.

They were exhausted from trying to prove their worth, to hand over enough ore, and to avoid being killed in Mine Area Seven.

Zhang Yangqing closed his eyes to rest, seemingly taking a break, but in his mind he was clearly sketching out part of the route map of the No. 7 mining area he had just passed through.

Which side road leads to resource-rich areas? Which areas are densely covered with black gas and may be dangerous? Which rock formations suggest that there might be hidden wonders deep within?

Furthermore, combining the techniques of feng shui and the subtle hints within the rules, he already had several speculations in his mind about the possible locations where the "extraterrestrial treasure" might be buried.

The routes that Zhang Yangqing had previously taken with the veteran miners, though seemingly ordinary, were actually carefully selected paths that were relatively safe, easy to observe, and easy to adapt to.

Since they were newcomers, their primary task was to familiarize themselves with the basic environment of this instance, the operating mode of the ghost story rules, and the limits and potential of this new body.

A qualified chosen one, especially one of his caliber, would never rashly venture into the most dangerous areas when the situation is unclear.

However, the accumulation of experience also brings some ingrained perceptions.

For example, Zhang Yangqing's thinking has now shifted to: Where is the extraterrestrial treasure?
Instead of searching aimlessly, go "look for danger".

The many dangerous areas mentioned in the rules are often not just simple warnings, but more like treasure markers on a map.

The more dangerous and mysterious a place is, the more likely it is to hide valuable items or key clues.

This is one of the underlying logics of the supernatural world.

Having roughly planned several routes leading to different "danger markers" in his mind, Zhang Yangqing was waiting to further refine the details.

Just then, a violent commotion and the screeching sound of metal being dragged came from outside the cell.

"Go! Hurry up!"

"Damn it, what are you dawdling for!"

"Throw him in!"

Accompanied by several shouts and muffled thuds, a tall figure was thrown into a cell like trash by several Qing Tong family guards whose auras were clearly stronger than ordinary guards and who wore better armor!
The newcomer was wearing specially made chains, thicker than miners' shackles and engraved with runes, with obvious signs of beatings on his body, a broken and bleeding mouth, and his exposed skin covered with bruises and fresh wounds.

But he was exceptionally tall and muscular, and even though he was covered in wounds, he still exuded a fierce aura.

More importantly, the sharp-eyed miners immediately noticed that under the man's tattered clothes, they could vaguely see the dark blue trim pattern that was unique to the core members of the Qing Tong family!

This is clearly a core disciple who made a mistake and was stripped of his status and privileges by the family, and demoted to a miner as punishment!

Although he was punished, everyone knew that such punishments often had a time limit, or that with the help of the forces behind him, he could soon be reinstated.

For these miners struggling at the very bottom, he is still a figure they need to look up to.

After the few cold-blooded guards locked the cell door and left, the muscular man struggled to his feet, mumbling curses under his breath, his eyes filled with resentment and unwillingness.

The atmosphere in the cell instantly became tense.

Many quick-thinking miners, after a brief moment of astonishment, immediately realized the opportunity.

They struggled to their feet, forcing ingratiating smiles, and gathered around.

"Sir, are you alright?"

"Quick, make room for the adults!"

"I still have some clean water here."

"Sir, I know a little about herbs, let me treat your wound."

They chattered amongst themselves, their tone obsequious and their movements cautious. The miner who had previously appeared quite shrewd, with eyes as sharp as an eagle, was the quickest to act. He had already torn off a relatively clean corner of his clothing, dampened it with water, and stepped forward to try and wipe the blood from the muscular man's face, all the while showering him with compliments.

Many chosen ones who witnessed this scene would immediately realize that this "fallen" core member likely carried crucial clues about the Qing Tong family's inner workings, the mining area's deeper secrets, and even how to escape the miner's identity.

Trying to curry favor with him now might establish initial contact and pave the way for future actions.

However, Zhang Yangqing's reaction was completely different.

He remained seated in his original position, seemingly oblivious to everything, his eyes closed, not even lifting an eyelid, a stark contrast to the sudden surge of flattery and noise around him.

After being attentively served by Hawkeye the miner and others, the muscular man caught his breath.

He roughly shoved away the Hawkeye miner who was bandaging his arm, his face revealing undisguised disgust and contempt.

"Get away! You filthy scum! Don't touch me with your filthy hands!" he growled in a low voice, as if being touched by these people was a defilement.

The surrounding miners froze for a moment, but quickly regained their humble and numb demeanor, awkwardly stepping back without daring to utter a single complaint.

They were used to it; in the eyes of these upper-class people, they, the lowly miners, were not even as good as ants.

The spot where Zhang Yangqing was resting happened to be a relatively dry and clean corner that the old miners had previously occupied.

The muscular man looked around and clearly took a liking to this place.

He dragged the chains, taking heavy steps like a moving hill, and walked straight up to Zhang Yangqing.

The tall shadow loomed over, creating a sense of oppression.

Seeing that Zhang Yangqing remained motionless, without even opening his eyes, many miners nearby had their hearts in their throats.

They sensed that something bloody was likely to happen next.

This new miner is so ignorant of the rules, and he shows no respect for this fallen benefactor.

The muscular man was already seething with anger, and seeing the thin, seemingly weak miner daring to ignore him like this only fueled his rage.

He concluded that the guy was either faking sleep or simply not thinking straight.

"Hey! Are you deaf? Get out of my way!" The muscular man's voice was icy, carrying an unquestionable tone of command.

Seeing that Zhang Yangqing did not react, he raised his foot, which was wearing a heavy leather boot, and kicked Zhang Yangqing's shin with moderate force.

This blow is enough to make an ordinary person jump up in pain and obediently give up their seat.

However, just as his toes were about to touch Zhang Yangqing's calf.

A sudden change has occurred!

No one saw exactly what happened.

I felt a blur before my eyes, as if there was an extremely subtle disturbance in the airflow.

The next second, the muscular man's massive body seemed to be pulled by an invisible and extremely tricky force, and his balance was instantly broken. He staggered forward half a step in an extremely awkward posture that completely defied the common sense of physics.

Then, with a loud "bang," it crashed face down to the ground! Its heavy body sent dust flying and the chains rattled.

Everything happened too fast, too strangely!

The muscular man was dizzy from the fall, his nose was in excruciating pain, possibly broken, and he tasted a salty, metallic flavor in his mouth.

After a brief moment of stunned silence, he was instantly consumed by immense humiliation and rage!
He is a core disciple of the Qing Tong family!

He was actually taken down by a lowly miner using some unknown means?! (End of Chapter)
