My Healing Games

Chapter 7 Li Xue

Chapter 7 Li Xue
When Zhao Ming returned to his room after making the call, he found Han Fei and Zhang Xiaotian frantically scrolling through their phone screens.

"What are you doing?"

"I've entered the facial information Han Fei gave me into the database. He was very detailed, so I expect we'll get a result soon... Found it!" Zhang Xiaotian looked at the face appearing on the screen, his expression gradually turning strange. He placed the phone in front of Han Fei: "I've performed facial simulation and comparison based on the information you gave me. Can you tell if this person is the shop owner?"

Upon seeing the elderly man on the screen, Han Fei exclaimed, "That's him! He even said his whole family are my fans! They really love my show!"

“I feel like he’s not lying to you, but you’re the one lying to us.” Zhang Xiaotian swiped his phone, revealing the following information: “This old man is a cemetery keeper in the outer district of Xinhu. His parents died early, and he has no children. If we have to talk about family, then his family should be the hundreds of nameless graves in the outer district cemetery.”

"Impossible! This old man was comforting me in the secondhand store yesterday, telling me to stand up straight. Are you sure you're not mistaken?" Han Fei repeatedly checked the information and pictures on his phone.

"Did he comfort you yesterday?" Zhang Xiaotian scrolled to the last page of his phone messages: "Look carefully, this old man passed away three days ago, and he himself was buried in the cemetery in the outer city."

The citizen information system is incapable of making mistakes. Han Fei stared at the old man's gray portrait on the last page, completely stunned.

"However, you are right about one thing: he is indeed your fan. He likes your kind of humor that isn't really funny. He also often plays your shows on the loudspeaker in the cemetery at night, which has startled passersby several times. There are police records of him responding to calls in his citizen file."

After Zhang Xiaotian finished speaking, he put away his phone. He and Zhao Ming looked at Han Fei together: "Don't just stand there like an idiot. If you really didn't commit arson, then come with us. We won't wrong an innocent person, nor will we let a bad person go free."

"I can cooperate with you, but I'd like to go to the antique street to take a look. I still can't quite accept it." Han Fei's mind was in turmoil. Everything was piling up at once. He thought his life was bad enough, but he didn't expect there to be so much more room for maneuver.

After personally visiting the antique street and seeing the completely burned-down streets, Han Fei was utterly disheartened.

They destroyed the body and destroyed all evidence; the ground was even burned and cracked. Even if there was any real evidence, it would probably have turned to ashes long ago.

"Why me? Is it just because that old man is my fan?"

"Other people's fans send their idols handwritten letters, chocolates, and pens, so why do my already small number of fans want to kill me?"

At nine o'clock in the morning, Han Fei arrived at the Xingfu Road Police Station in the old city. Perhaps because it was his first time riding in a police car, his lips were pale and he was in poor spirits.

"I'm going to report to Captain Wang. Xiaotian, keep an eye on him." After Zhao Ming left, Zhang Xiaotian told Han Fei to go into the summons room first. In his opinion, the "arsonist" Han Fei was very dangerous and had to be kept away from others.

“You’ve really got it wrong. I’ve never even lit a firecracker, let alone set fire to the street.”

"Stay still."

"It's a misunderstanding!" Before Han Fei could finish speaking, the door to the summons room slammed shut. "You've arrested the wrong person! The real culprit is someone else! I'm a victim too!"

"Stop shouting. Don't you know whether you've committed a crime or not?" A woman's voice rang out in the interrogation room.

Han Fei turned around and the first thing he saw was a pair of black mid-calf Martin boots propped up on the table in the summons room, followed by long, slender legs clad in black skinny jeans.

"Does it look good?"

The woman sitting at the very back of the summons room had an outrageously good figure. She never looked up, and although she was focused on playing on her phone, she seemed to know everything that was happening in the room.

"Take a few more glances, you won't have another chance once you're inside. Although my country's Criminal Law only stipulates the crime of arson, not the crime of intentional arson, there is no upper limit to the sentence for arson that causes significant damage. I heard you burned down an entire street, how can you not get a life sentence? You're a ruthless guy."

"Don't make baseless accusations. I'm not like you criminals. I'm here to help the police find the truth. This arson case isn't that simple; there are other masterminds behind it." There are only two types of people who can enter the police station's summons room—police officers or suspects, so Han Fei didn't think much of it. Right now, his mind was full of things about the game.

"The mastermind?" The woman raised her head for the first time, as if she had discovered something interesting: "Indeed, burning down an entire street requires meticulous planning and multiple ignition points to allow the fire to spread rapidly, but the surveillance cameras didn't capture anything except you, it feels like you were deliberately dragged out as a scapegoat."

"Finally, I've met someone who understands me." Han Fei didn't have a good impression of that woman before, but so far, she's the only one who's spoken up for him.

"It's a very simple logic, but what is there about you that would make you worth framing? Flies don't land on eggs without cracks, there must be something wrong with you too." The woman's intuition was very sharp, and her eyes were extremely keen.

“What problems could I possibly have? I worked so hard to finally get a chance to appear on camera, only to have it snatched away by someone with connections; I was just trying to relax and have some fun, but…” Han Fei recalled his experience last night, feeling that it was a miracle he had survived: “I’m not going to talk about it anymore. I used to think that when God closes a door for someone, He always opens a window for them, leaving them a glimmer of hope.”

"now what?"

"I feel like God not only sealed all my doors and windows, but also put a ghost in my house."

Han Fei had always been a man of few words, but after playing "Perfect Life," he became more talkative, which might be a sign of his last burst of energy before death.

"Although I don't know the full story, I get the feeling that you're having a pretty tough time."

"It's all too painful to talk about. Sister, why were you brought in?" Han Fei walked over to the woman.

"Big sister?" The woman's eyes twitched, but she didn't hold it against Han Fei. "I broke someone's nose and kicked two other people in the ribs during a fight. The situation was quite critical at the time, and I didn't think much about it."

"You're really good at fighting?"

"so so."

Perhaps because they were both in the same boat, their conversation went smoothly, and Han Fei even tried to recount what had happened in the game.

“Your reasoning is correct. There was definitely a freezer hidden in that old lady’s house, but judging from her physical condition, she shouldn’t be the murderer. She was just helping to hide the body. I suspect the real murderer is her family.”

"I think so!"

The two people in the summons room chatted animatedly, as if they had found a secret code.

"What's that old lady's name? I can look it up for you after I get out." The woman's expression was very serious; she unusually believed Han Fei's words.

"The old lady's name is Meng Shi. She's in her seventies, with a full head of white hair and slightly uneven shoulders. She also has a grandson named Chenchen..."

"Okay." The woman wrote down all the information on her phone: "Add my account, and we'll communicate by phone from now on."

"Thank you for your help, but I'm in a very urgent situation. When can you expect to be able to leave?"

"If you're in a hurry, then I'll leave now." After saying that, the woman stood up and kicked the door of the summons room.

"Oh!"

The door opened, leaving Han Fei completely dumbfounded: "You can do that?"

The woman walked out confidently, and then a furious roar came from the police station: "Li Xue! You have no discipline or organization! You're going too far! I'm calling your superiors!"

Hearing the middle-aged man's voice, Han Fei realized something: "She's a police officer?"

“She’s no ordinary police officer. She joined the Major Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigation Brigade at the age of 23 and participated in solving many major cases in the past five years. However, she was disciplined and transferred out of the Criminal Investigation Team for repeatedly assaulting suspects and violating regulations.” Zhang Xiaotian looked at the broken door lock and sighed: “On the surface, they said that the police station needed to strengthen its criminal investigation force and transferred her to enrich the team. In reality, they wanted to punish her and transfer her to the police station to do basic work. Her superiors wanted to temper her personality.”

Thanks to an ordinary person, o, seven eight nine, Bai Qichuangle, when time flows by and cannot understand, Bian Que tested the poison, and the adorable Lulu's leader!
