Journey to the West Bandits: The Poor Monk Just Wants to Be a Godfather
510. Let’s briefly talk about some things about external sites plagiarizing this book.
Last Friday, a reader in the book club posted a message in the group saying that a book on an external site had plagiarized my book in Chinese translation.
Based on the clues provided by book friends, I went to the external website to read the book. From the first chapter, I felt a sense of familiarity.
The clumsy Chinese translation technique, and some new characters were added in an attempt to cover up the fact of plagiarism.
My book is mainly based on jokes, such as some Internet memes like "I Have a Road in the West" and "Thirty-Seven Divide" that anyone can use.
But these jokes are just one sentence. A book is to connect these words together. Anyone can tell that the paragraphs you connect these words are translated from Chinese, and some places are even copied and pasted!
Let’s talk about the issue of Journey to the West: No matter who writes it, the plot of Journey to the West is definitely the main plot.
But I changed all the Eighty-one Difficulties I wrote, and each difficulty has basically nothing to do with the plot of the original work except for the names of the characters.
Since you said you didn't copy it, why is it that in every difficulty you adapted, the plot is highly similar to the plot I changed, and some paragraph descriptions are exactly the same as my text?
Readers who have read my book know that every aspect I changed that is difficult to change is basically completely different from the original work, and has basically nothing to do with the original work.
But you can actually adapt the plot exactly the same as mine. Could it be that you and I share the same brain?
Do you think that if you plagiarize the Chinese translation and then add one or two original plots of your own, it won't be considered plagiarism?
Take a look for yourself. Except for the part about the white dragon horse that you made major changes by yourself, which one of the other plots from the first chapter to the Liusha River plot was not copied from mine?
You said you watched the short video and wrote the content. After watching the short video, can you still describe the same thing exactly as I did in the original text?
Right and wrong are in the heart of the people.
You know whether you have plagiarized or not (End of Chapter)
