Chapter 1710 The Actions of Meilijian
Connors has now completely transformed into a terrifying creature in the form of Godzilla—the shockwaves caused by its attack on the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant were far more intense than the reactor shell it destroyed.

Almost simultaneously with the tearing apart of the first line of defense by its massive claws covered in dark, thick keratinous scales, a U.S. military spy satellite suspended high in the stratosphere instantly transmitted the abnormal thermal signals and ground vibration data it had captured to the National Reconnaissance Office headquarters at Fort Meade, Maryland, via an encrypted channel.

Within minutes, the intelligence summary, after initial interpretation, pierced the tranquility of Washington, D.C., like cold steel needles, reaching the Pentagon's Situation Center, the emergency command post beneath the White House, and the U.S. Forces Japan headquarters at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo.

Tony Stark, the tech mogul who protects New York as Iron Man, learned of the news almost simultaneously.

Jarvis's efficient global information surveillance network captured a sudden surge in encrypted traffic on the communications channels of the U.S. military stationed in Japan, as well as blurry images and text descriptions filled with extreme panic that suddenly appeared on civilian networks around Fukushima.

When a real-time image transmitted from a high-altitude drone (RQ-4 "Global Hawk"), with a resolution high enough to see the texture of every single one of the monster's massive scales, was projected onto the screen in Tony's private lab, he gasped.

In the footage, the colossal creature, nearly 100 meters tall, is tearing at the outer shell of the nuclear power plant's Unit 3 with terrifying brute force, as if peeling open a soda can.

Its massive body moved through the ruins, raising clouds of dust that blotted out the sky. Each step it took caused a dull thud, as if the earth was groaning in pain.

Most disturbingly, it seemed to make no attempt to conceal its presence—it simply stood atop the ruins, bathed in the afterglow of the setting sun (or searchlight), its massive head held high, emitting a deep, penetrating roar that even created visible ripples in the air on satellite images.

This is a blatant declaration, a contempt and provocation against all of human civilization stemming from absolute power.

"It now has enough confidence."

Tony muttered to himself, his brow furrowed, his fingers tapping unconsciously on the virtual control panel, "No one, no matter who, can be its match..."

After absorbing enough nuclear energy, Connors underwent a qualitative transformation.

It no longer needs to sneak around, no longer needs to be cautious.

Its modus operandi became extremely bold and direct—after completely destroying Unit 3 of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and greedily devouring the hot and deadly "fruit" of its reactor core, its massive body rolled over the wreckage and locked its target directly on the adjacent Unit 2!
It intends to transform all the remaining nuclear fuel here into a source of its power growth.

At Yokota Air Base, the atmosphere in the underground command center of the U.S. Forces Japan (USFJ) headquarters was as heavy as lead.

On the massive electronic situation map, the movement trajectory and current precise coordinates of the creature codenamed "Titan-Alpha" are clearly marked—the ruins of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.

High-definition images transmitted from multiple drones alternated on the main screen: the monster's scarred but ferocious dorsal fins, its giant eyes flashing with an eerie green light, and the horrifying scene of it easily digging through thick concrete and stuffing the reactor core containing fuel rods into its giant mouth like a snack.

Even the air purification system could not completely dispel the tense, sweaty smell that permeated the command center.

"My God...it's directly devouring the nuclear fuel rods!"

A young intelligence analyst's voice trembled uncontrollably.

“It’s stronger than it was in New York! It’s at least ten times bigger!” The operations officer stared intently at the bioenergy readings, his voice hoarse.

Commander Michael Angelela, a four-star general and a veteran known for his toughness and pragmatism, stood before the command post with a somber expression.

His deep gaze swept across the raging beasts on the screen, finally settling on the location of Fukushima on the map.

The devastation of New York—the razed streets, the hundreds of billions of dollars in economic losses, and the frustration of the military and Iron Man's combined efforts yielding little result—rushed into my mind instantly.

We absolutely cannot let this monster grow any further!

We must eliminate it completely before it leaves the island nation and threatens the American mainland, at all costs!

Here, on an island nation, the U.S. military can act with impunity, using ultimate weapons that would cause huge controversy on its home soil.

"Order!"

General Angelela's voice, though not loud, was resolute, instantly drowning out all the noise in the command center: "Seventh Fleet, USS Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group, immediately proceed from Yokosuka Harbor at full speed to the waters off Fukushima! We are taking full control of the airspace! All F-15C/D and F-22A squadrons at Yokota and Kadena, take off immediately! Establish a multi-layered interception and attack airspace over Fukushima! Authorize the use of all heavy air-to-ground munitions! Target codename: Titan Alpha! Mission: Destroy!"

Commands are transmitted instantly via encrypted communication.

Inside Yokosuka Harbor, piercing alarms blared through the sky. The massive hull of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, aided by tugboats, swiftly turned, followed closely by destroyers and cruisers. Cutting through the black seawater, thick smoke billowed from its smokestacks as it sped northeast.

Meanwhile, on the runways of Yokota and Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, the roar of engines tore through the night sky.

F-15 Eagles and F-22 Raptors, armed with missiles and precision-guided bombs and equipped with stealth capabilities, shot into the dark sky like arrows, propelled by their afterburners. The flashing navigation lights under their wings formed streaks of light, pointing directly at Fukushima.

However, before the order had even faded, a wave of fierce opposition came simultaneously from the communication channels and the entrance to the command center.

Kenji Kobayashi, the Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary and the special plenipotentiary representative urgently dispatched by the island nation's government, practically rushed into the command center. His face was pale, his forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, and the front of his expensive suit was soaked with sweat.

"General Angelela! Immediately cease attack!"

Kenji Kobayashi's voice was shrill with excitement and fear. He disregarded diplomatic protocol and practically lunged at the command post, shouting, "You can't use heavy weapons here! Especially bunker busters! This is insane!"

He pointed to the ruins of the nuclear power plant ravaged by the behemoth on the main screen, his fingers trembling slightly from the force: "General! Please look carefully! The cores of reactors 1, 2, 3, and 4 at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant melted down in the disaster! They remain buried deep beneath the ruins like the heart of a demon, barely covered by fragile, temporary concrete 'sarcophagi'!"
