Who is the biggest conspirator?
In the original version of Shrouding the Heavens, it seems that the Emperor was the biggest schemer behind the scenes. He left too many array patterns and runes between the two worlds, wanting to refine the two worlds into an unparalleled immortal cauldron so that he could transcend alone.

But is that really the case?
If the Emperor was truly the mastermind behind the biggest conspiracy, what benefits did he ultimately gain? Did he end up being besieged and killed by Ye Fan, the Empress, and the Great Emperor Wushi?

Ye Fan, the Empress, the Great Emperor Wushi, and others were constantly cleaning up the various array patterns and runes he left behind between the two worlds. Did he really not notice anything? How is that possible?

Moreover, during the final battle, the Emperor appeared very abnormal, like a madman, suddenly jumping out and taking on Ye Fan and all of them by himself. Was he so confident that he could defeat Ye Fan and the other two by himself?
All of this makes no sense. No matter how you look at it, it seems that the Emperor is not the biggest schemer behind the scenes. It's more like he doesn't want to live anymore and just wants to die!
More importantly, in the mythological era, the Emperor was impeccable in terms of cultivation, strength, character, and behavior. Does that mean everyone was blind and misjudged him?

His subordinates misjudged him, the Heavenly Venerables and Ancient Venerables misjudged him, and only the Immortal Emperor discovered his conspiracy and saw through his true colors. Is this really reasonable?
Thinking of this, Shen Pingkang, the Celestial Venerable of Immortality, had a slight change in expression. He then thought of a key point of doubt: why did the Undying Emperor not only know that the Emperor would target them, but also know that the Emperor would use them as sacrifices to refine the cauldron when opening the path to immortality?

How did the Undying Emperor know about such a secret conspiracy? Did the Emperor tell him? That's impossible. No matter how much the Undying Emperor was trusted by the Emperor, the Emperor would never have told him about such a conspiracy. Unless, all of this was originally a conspiracy between the Emperor and the Undying Emperor, but the Undying Emperor betrayed the Emperor for some unknown reason, turning against them and revealing the Emperor's conspiracy to them, and joining forces with them to kill the Emperor!
Thinking of this, Shen Pingkang, the Celestial Venerable of Longevity, couldn't help but frown again. His mind was in turmoil. The cause and effect relationships between the Emperor, the Undying Emperor, the Underworld Emperor, and the Celestial Venerables and Ancient Venerables who were invited to break out of their seals and emerge into the world were a bit unclear. He had to sort it out carefully again, recalling all the events of the end of the mythological era, especially the beginning and end of breaking into the Immortal Realm and becoming an immortal.

At the end of the mythological period, the Undying Emperor accidentally fell into the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths from a rift in the Immortal Realm. Everyone praised the Emperor's great ambition and his daring to think what others dared not. He wanted to lead everyone in the ancient Heavenly Court to conquer the Immortal Realm and become immortals. Everyone was already dreaming of being able to follow the Emperor to conquer the Immortal Realm and become immortals!

But everything took a sharp turn for the worse. The Underworld Emperor and the Underworld Venerable had some kind of conflict with the Emperor Venerable, and they actually fought each other in the Ancient Heavenly Court. The Underworld Emperor and the Underworld Venerable were no match for the Emperor Venerable and were defeated. Then they returned to the Underworld and went into seclusion, never to appear in the world again. In the end, it was the Eternal Heavenly Venerable and others who broke into his seclusion place and discovered that the Underworld Emperor and the Underworld Venerable had long since left the Underworld and disappeared.

Then, the Emperor used the Immortal Cauldron to open the path to immortality. At this crucial moment, the Undying Emperor, the Eternal Heavenly Venerable, and others betrayed him, launching a sneak attack from behind and killing the Emperor! In the end, the Emperor collapsed, the Ancient Heavenly Court underwent a dramatic change, and the mythological era came to an end!
These things flashed through Shen Pingkang's mind, the Celestial Venerable of Immortality. He suddenly grasped one of the key points: the Emperor Venerable's journey to enter the Immortal Realm and become an immortal began after the Undying Emperor fell from the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths!
The Undying Emperor had only one goal from beginning to end: to return to the Immortal Realm and his homeland!

Perhaps the plan for the Emperor to conquer the Immortal Realm and become an immortal was first proposed by the Undying Emperor? He also wanted to follow the Emperor into the Immortal Realm and return to his homeland!

The only reason why the Emperor adopted his suggestion is that the Emperor himself had reached a dead end on the path of Nirvana and immortality. He heard the Undying Emperor say that the lifespan in the Immortal Realm was often tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of years, and he was tempted by it.

If the plan to break into the Immortal Realm and become an immortal was proposed by the Undying Emperor and adopted by the Emperor, then it makes sense why the Emperor trusts the Undying Emperor so much!
The Undying Emperor thus gained the Emperor's trust, but he may have eventually realized that it was impossible to break into the Immortal Realm. The Emperor did not have the strength to do so. Even though the Emperor was already very powerful, he still could not lead them into the Immortal Realm to help him return to his homeland.

Thus, the Undying Emperor had other ideas. He offered the Nirvana Method, which involved bathing in imperial blood and devouring the paths of all emperors, to bewitch the Emperor. He said that only after the Emperor underwent Nirvana again and his strength increased greatly could he truly lead them into the Immortal Realm to become immortals.

On the other hand, they conspired with the Celestial Venerable of Immortality and others, saying that the Emperor was going to make a move against them, and they plotted to join forces to deal with the Emperor!
He instigated and lured the Emperor to take action, and also conspired with the Eternal Heavenly Venerable and others. Both sides were his pawns, and in the end, he became the biggest beneficiary!
This might explain everything, but there is still one major question: why did the Emperor change so much?
Even a man of such great talent and ambition as the Emperor Venerable cannot simply believe everything the Undying Heavenly Emperor says. He was even willing to turn against his master, the Underworld Emperor Venerable, for this reason!

Could it be that the Emperor Venerable has truly reached the end of his path to Nirvana and immortality, a dead end, and can no longer go on? In order to survive, and in order to truly become an immortal, he has become psychologically twisted and perverse, just like the self-destructive and self-sealed supreme beings. In order to become an immortal, he is willing to pay any price? Even sacrificing the blood of these Heavenly Venerables and Ancient Venerables is not out of the question?

Or perhaps there are other reasons, such as the Emperor no longer being the Emperor, but having been corrupted?
Upon realizing this, Shen Pingkang, the Celestial Venerable of Immortality, was deeply shaken. He muttered to himself, "Is the Emperor's mind twisted and corrupted because he couldn't find a way to achieve Nirvana and become an immortal, or has he been corrupted by darkness?"
