Just then, Qiao Ruida was pulled into a virtual chat room. The chat room members included several high-ranking executives from Ruida Aerospace, the eight astronauts on the expedition with the fleet, the project leader invited to participate in the interplanetary expedition, high-ranking officials from the National Space Administration, and two academicians in the field of aerospace. Qiao Ruida arrived relatively late; when he entered the chat room, everyone was engaged in a lively discussion.

"Based on the current spectral analysis results, the outer shell of this unidentified flying object contains iron, aluminum, titanium, and silicon, which is very similar to a man-made alloy. Combined with the obvious geometric structural features of the unidentified flying object, I tend to conclude that it is an extraterrestrial creation."

"Isn't that obvious? The engine nozzles and cannon barrel outlines in the image are so clear that ten people could tell it's an alien spaceship, and most likely a warship. The question now is, should our expeditionary fleet stop to observe this strange spaceship up close, or even try to capture it?"

"Our interstellar expedition fleet is currently traveling at high speed, and stopping won't be easy. Moreover, sudden stops and starts waste a lot of energy. It's not worth it to do that for an alien spaceship of unknown origin. Don't forget, the ultimate goal of our interstellar expedition fleet is to explore the distant Proxima Centauri system. Analysis of the preliminary exploration results shows that there is a magical Proxima Centauri b there, with liquid water and flora and fauna, which is very suitable for transforming into a second home for humanity. We shouldn't put the cart before the horse."

"How can you be putting the cart before the horse? What's in front of us is an alien spaceship, and one that's appeared in the inner solar system. Do you know what that means? It means that the solar system and even Earth have been discovered by aliens, and that humanity is currently in a huge crisis. I will not be able to eat or sleep until I find out the specifics of this alien spaceship, where it came from, the reason for its damage, and whether other alien spaceships have come to the solar system."

"How do you know that this alien spaceship was recently damaged, or perhaps like the Homeland colony at the south pole of the moon, it is an ancient relic? Our solar system is too ancient. Over billions of years, it is perfectly normal for an alien spaceship to pass by and crash."

"Of course I have evidence. The latest observations from the shipborne space telescope show that there are a large number of metal fragments flying in the same direction and at the same speed as this unidentified flying object. It is very likely that these are the remnants left by an asteroid impact on an alien spacecraft. If it were an ancient spacecraft, there would be no such remnants."

……

Qiao Ruida sat quietly, listening to the analyses and debates of the experts and academicians. He didn't rush to speak, but instead recalled an event from the past. Just two years prior, Ruida Aerospace had been established and attempted to launch its first reusable launch vehicle, incidentally sending a space telescope into geosynchronous orbit. It was this space telescope, named "Thousand-Mile Eye," that first discovered what appeared to be liquid water and flora and fauna on Proxima Centauri b. Several months later, the "Thousand-Mile Eye" telescope discovered a meteorite in the solar system, named "Little Flying Rod," suspected to be an extraterrestrial object. Later, Ruida Aerospace manufactured and launched a probe specifically to detect the "Little Flying Rod" and attempted to intercept it by impact. The final result was less than ideal; the trajectory calculations were flawed, and the probe missed the "Little Flying Rod," only returning with some relatively clear photos proving that it was originally a long, narrow natural meteorite with traces of human alteration, resembling a reactor, thrusters, and communication antennas.

Later, Rida Space successfully landed on the moon and discovered the Homeland colony subsurface at the lunar south pole, finally confirming the existence of extraterrestrials and their ability to reach the solar system and even Earth. This brought to life the alien figures—whether malevolent, benevolent, or strange—that had appeared in science fiction, and humanity began to confront the threat posed by extraterrestrials. There's an old Chinese saying, "Those who are not of our kind are sure to have different hearts." These extraterrestrials are completely different from humans in terms of physical structure, living environment, and social structure. Some are not even carbon-based life forms. Expecting them to coexist peacefully with humans after arriving in the solar system is simply wishful thinking. More likely, after discovering Earth and humanity, they will treat humans as enemies, or even small animals, and exterminate them indiscriminately in order to seize territory and resources. This is similar to how European navigators discovered the Americas and the indigenous Native Americans, never intending to coexist peacefully, but instead using guns, weapons, and even infectious diseases to slaughter them to plunder their wealth, occupy their land, and exploit their mineral resources.

In other words, the news of the discovery of an alien spaceship on the moon wasn't widely publicized, and the rumor that the flying rod was a possible alien spaceship wasn't definitively confirmed, which made the alien threat seem less urgent. This time, the expeditionary fleet discovered what appeared to be an alien spaceship near the asteroid belt. Upon hearing the news, Qiao Ruida and the top leaders of the China Space Agency frowned deeply, filled with worry. Current human civilization has barely mastered controlled nuclear fusion and anti-gravity technology, and has only just ventured beyond Earth, extending its reach into parts of the inner solar system. Overall, it remains in the late stage of a Type I civilization, and its technological level is vastly inferior to that of aliens who have developed interstellar spaceships and are exploring the solar system. If these aliens were to enter the solar system on a large scale and clash with humanity, the consequences would be unpredictable. Analyzing the disparity in strength between the two sides, the eventual extinction of humanity and the extinction of the race is a highly probable event.

In dealing with aliens, there's not much that Qiao Ruida can do. He can simply use his "golden touch" more often, extract more advanced technologies, and invest more funds and resources in research projects to improve the technological level of the Ruida Group, the entire China, and even all of humanity. He wants to prepare for a possible future war between humanity and aliens.

"President Qiao, you are knowledgeable and learned. What do you think of these materials?" An elderly academician asked curiously when he saw Qiao Ruida frowning in thought, seemingly having gained some insights.

Qiao Ruida pulled himself together, cleared his throat, and said, "The expeditionary fleet and the spaceship wreckage are still far apart. This data is only from remote detection by shipboard equipment, and it's not very detailed. We can't reach a conclusion here by just discussing things theoretically. I think it would be better if everyone used brain-computer interface devices to remotely log into Proxima Centauri, observe the alien spaceship wreckage up close, and then make a decision."
