The wingtip pylons are used to pull vortices, and the sweep angle is moderate. While ensuring supersonic performance, the high subsonic lift-to-drag ratio and weapon mounting capacity are optimized. The front of the wing adopts a unique side strip design. The side strips effectively pull vortexes to reduce the load on the wings, further reducing the wing load, greatly improving the aircraft lift coefficient at subsonic speeds, and giving it excellent combat performance in the subsonic field.
This optimization is also determined by the environment faced by the Nanyang Air Force - there is no need to intercept enemy bombers carrying nuclear weapons. The surrounding countries do not have nuclear weapons at all, so there is naturally no need to intercept them. Therefore, compared to high-speed interception, the air combat environment faced by the Nanyang Air Force is more of a mobile combat, so naturally the focus is on optimizing this performance.
Of course, this does not mean that its speed is slow. According to calculations, its speed exceeds 2.1 Mach, which is only 104 Mach slower than the F0.1 that emphasizes high altitude and high speed. This is directly related to their meticulous drag reduction when designing the YF2 fighter. Of course, another reason is that its engine thrust is at a relatively high level among similar fighters.
