Chapter 1052: Views on Humanity
Chapter 1052: Views on Humanity
"The selfishness of a single-celled organism will not cause much damage. At most, it will eat up all the food in an area, leaving other single-celled organisms with nothing to eat. The selfishness of a rabbit will not cause much damage either. At most, it will eat up all the grass in a field. The destructive power of these organisms is too low."
"But humans are different. As their wisdom and power grow, their destructive power is also growing. In the beginning, they just slashed and burned crops, but later they began to destroy the earth and grab energy. With the development of technology, human productivity has become more and more terrifying, and their selfishness has turned into destruction of the entire world."
"Altruism in human society is ultimately a form of self-interest. Maintaining certain social relationships is actually for the convenience of oneself. Promoting love and justice and maintaining public order and good customs is actually to maintain a good social environment and reduce damage to the 'self'."
"Parents' devotion to their children is to pass on the family line and maintain the influence of their own genes. Children's devotion to their parents is to satisfy their filial piety, show their own character to outsiders, and gain better social evaluation. Devotion to lovers is essentially to obtain sexual resources. Love, big or small, is either to satisfy self-worth, or is an act of showing character under the influence of social morality, which is still essentially self-interest."
"When these selfish people gather together, they exert a terrifying destructive force on everything in the outside world. Faced with the danger of the abyss, humans can destroy the world and the earth without hesitation, just for a possible way to survive."
"In the final analysis, humans are unwilling to destroy the Earth, not for any other reason, but because they don't want to give up the resources they have already obtained. The entire Earth belongs to them. They call themselves the masters of the Earth and control all the capital for survival. Of course, they are unwilling to give up what they have."
"They are more worried that they will not be able to survive after escaping, that there are no planets in space that are suitable for survival, and that the spacecraft cannot reach its destination. It is these hesitations that have delayed their destruction of the Earth. From the beginning to the end, humans have always been thinking about themselves. Love and home are concepts that humans have imagined to make themselves feel at peace. They not only want to benefit themselves, but also make their selfishness appear less exposed."
"This deliberate concealment is also to cover up the fangs and claws to make themselves appear less aggressive. This is how their ancestors evolved, and it has become a nature engraved in their genes."
"By hiding their selfishness, they can better gain the trust of others and gain benefits from them. They use civilization to cover up their barbarity, their greedy hearts, the endless destructive power brought by desire, and the absolute selfishness inherited from single-celled organisms."
"I can't trust such an extremely selfish race..."
The instructor looked at Mo Ling and expressed his views on human beings.
When faced with such comments, Mo Ling didn't know how to refute them for a moment.
"You seem to understand humans better than I do," he said to the instructor.
The instructor shook his head: "This is just my little opinion. After all, I am not a human being. I cannot understand what they are thinking or why they do this."
Mo Ling thought for a moment and continued, "According to what you said, are there any creatures on Earth that are altruistic? Aren't all creatures selfish? They are all revolving around their own desires..."
"Of course." The instructor answered decisively.
"What kind of creature?"
"We robots... We were created by humans to serve humans, so we are altruistic by nature. Our selfishness is only to protect ourselves and the property created by humans. Everything we do is for humans, isn't that altruism?"
Mo Ling was stunned when he heard the instructor's words.
"That seems to be the case."
But are these robots considered living things?
"What do you want me to help you with? I still have to find my companions..." Mo Ling decided not to waste any more time. He did not come here to argue with the other party about human nature, but to find Li Luo.
"I want you to open a door for me."
"Door?"
"Yes, a door leading to a higher authority area. That may be the core of the entire hotel. It is very likely the 'cockpit' of the spaceship. I want to go inside to look at the navigation map and see when the spaceship can land."
"Are you sure that's the cockpit?"
"I'm not sure. I'm just guessing. I found the structural diagram of the spacecraft somewhere else and compared it. Only the location of the cockpit is uncertain. I guess it's probably behind that door. I'm just a robot that escaped from the workshop. I can't open that door."
"How can I do that?" Mo Ling pointed at himself and asked in confusion. Did he get the captain's authority at some point and is now the highest-ranking official on this spaceship?
"You are...very strong."
"What do you mean?"
"When you were downstairs, didn't you destroy the entire box? I saw it all in the monitoring room. You were still a cube at that time, not like you are now..."
Mo Ling was stunned again. He didn't expect that he was caught for "stealing the room".
"How do you know it was me?"
"The force that destroyed the room was also in the shape of a cube. No one else present at the time reacted, so it could only be you."
"So what do you want me to do, just destroy that door?"
"Well, in return, I can take you to find your companions."
"I can find it myself, and it can take me there." Mo Ling pointed to the little black dog at his feet.
"If you let it take you there, you'll have to run for a long time. I know a lot of secret passages. Just like downstairs, there are many small paths here that only robots like us know. This is an employee passage that facilitates our service to humans. I can take you directly to your companions."
"Really?" Mo Ling asked with some doubt.
"Really, I'm definitely not lying to you."
"Then take me to that door first." Mo Ling said half-doubtfully.
"no problem."
As he spoke, the instructor walked over. When he came in front of Mo Ling, he stretched out his arm and said, "Hold me."
Mo Ling grabbed his hand in confusion.
The moment he grabbed it, he found that a black energy was emanating from the instructor's body. This was exactly the same ability as the waiters he had seen before. However, after the power was transmitted to him, it suddenly became very gentle, like ink, softly entwining his body.
Soon, the inky energy covered his entire body, then flowed down his feet and onto the little black dog.
"We'll be there soon, relax."
The instructor's steady voice came from the front.
The black energy gradually devoured them completely, but the screening room was already pitch black, and it seemed to make no difference.
Before I could figure out what the instructor wanted to do, that steady voice sounded again:
"arrive."
The inky energy slowly receded, and everything around him reappeared before his eyes.
Mo Ling then realized that he was no longer in the dark screening room, but was standing in front of a special door. The light illuminated the door brightly. Behind him was a corridor leading to nowhere. He and the instructor stood at the end of the corridor. Apart from the door in front of him, there was nothing around him...
