Infinity: Kill your way through the movie world.
Chapter 1170 That's a toilet, not a sink.
Sam immediately stepped forward to support him, transferring a small amount of his own strength to try to stabilize his collapsing consciousness.
“Go, go quickly, get out of here, it’s too dangerous here!” John gasped, trying to push them away.
"let's go together!"
Dean's expression was resolute, his eyes as firm as a rock.
In the time that followed, the father and his two sons began a difficult escape and struggle within John's fragmented and dangerous hell of memories.
They hid behind burning ruins, traversed the gaps in lava rivers, and constantly encountered and fought against the demons that surfaced in their memories.
Dean and Sam used all the demon-hunting skills they had learned from the outside world, and even some energy usage methods they had observed from Wu Heng. Although the power was far less than in reality, it was enough to deal with most of the memory illusions.
Throughout this process, they kept talking to John, telling him about the changes in the outside world, their longing for their mother, their experiences fighting side by side as brothers, and their determination to never give up on finding and saving him.
"Mom is still waiting for you, Dad."
During a brief rest, Sam looked at John's eyes, which were gradually regaining their clarity, and said softly.
“You two have really grown up!” John looked at his two sons, who, though young, were already weathered by life and had resolute eyes. Especially when he felt the extraordinary power emanating from Sam and Dean, he seemed to see new hope. “I can’t do it anymore, but maybe, maybe you really can do it and save your mother.”
However, the backlash from the hell of memories is fierce.
Perhaps sensing the threat of the 'intruders,' or perhaps due to John's subconscious obsession with pain, more demons surged in from all directions, like a black tide, surrounding the three of them, leaving them with no way out.
John looked at his two sons, who were fighting to the side of him, and who were already injured but did not back down an inch. Then he looked at the endless demons around him, and a resolute look flashed in his eyes.
He abruptly pushed away Sam, who was supporting him, and ignited the last remaining power of his soul. The light was faint, but it carried an undeniable determination.
“Dean, Sam!” John’s voice was clearer and stronger than ever before. “Remember my teachings, remember your goals, and protect each other! Your mother is in your hands!”
"No, Daddy!" Dean cried out in terror, trying to rush over.
But John, like a moth drawn to a flame, had already rushed headlong into the place where the demons were most concentrated.
He detonated his soul, and the dazzling white light instantly devoured a large number of demons, forcibly tearing a gap in the black tide.
"Walk--!"
This was his last cry, a cry filled with the grandeur of sacrifice and profound expectations for his sons.
He died a worthy death.
In the hellish memories that tormented him for twenty years, he ultimately chose to fight to protect his son rather than succumb to the pain.
Dean and Sam watched helplessly as their father vanished in the light, their souls aching as if being torn apart.
But they knew this was not true death; it was their father's choice in his memory, his final release and transcendence of pain.
In the real world, John Winchester, lying on his mattress, shed a single, cloudy tear from the corner of his tightly closed eye, but his furrowed brow slowly relaxed, and his breathing became steady and long.
Castio removed his hands from Dean and Sam's foreheads. The brothers regained consciousness, gasped for breath, and their eyes still held the terror and sorrow of their hellish memories: "Daddy!"
They rushed to John's bedside to check on their father, who had committed suicide in his memory. They didn't know what the consequences would be.
“He’s alright now. You did a good job. Facing death and pain head-on may be the only way to have a new beginning,” Wu Heng suddenly said from the side.
The filth deep within the soul has been purified, and the heaviest traumatic memories have been confronted and overcome.
John has finally returned to normal.
Upon hearing this, the two breathed a sigh of relief. What they feared most was that the sacrifice in their memories would cause John's consciousness to dissolve.
At this moment, John's vital signs were stable, and the fluctuations of his soul became stable and full of vitality.
“He needs rest; his soul is still recovering from trauma and he will be very tired.” Castio’s voice remained calm, but it was an undeniable fact that he had successfully healed John.
"Thank you, Castio."
Sam sincerely said that although he still had deep doubts about Heaven, his impression of the eccentric angel who had actually helped them had greatly changed.
Dean nodded, though he didn't say anything, but the hostility and wariness in his eyes lessened considerably.
"Thanks," he said briefly.
For the next few days, an eerie calm settled over the apartment.
John spent most of his time recovering in a deep sleep, with Dean and Sam taking turns caring for him, while he also began to process his experiences in hell and his father's memories.
Castillo stayed on.
He maintained the highest level of vigilance towards Wu Heng.
Whenever Wu Heng was quietly studying the container that sealed the demon essence in the corner of the apartment, or fiddling with some runes that looked ominous, Castio's gaze would always lock onto him like a sophisticated radar, his brows furrowed.
He could sense that the intense hellish aura and lingering abyss energy emanating from Wu Heng had not completely dissipated. In fact, during the process of purifying John, he vaguely sensed that Wu Heng seemed to be secretly observing and analyzing his angelic power, which made him extremely uncomfortable.
He also expressed his clear disapproval of the growing, demonic power emanating from Sam.
“You are using demonic power, Sam Winchester.” After Sam practiced controlling his abilities in private, Castio pointed it out directly, his tone carrying the inherent angelic aversion to unclean things. “This is dangerous, the beginning of your fall, and it will eventually corrupt your soul.”
Sam ignored the advice: "This is my own power. I use it to hunt demons and protect innocent people. It's better than doing nothing and watching demons run rampant!"
Castio remained silent; he did not forcefully stop him, but the disapproval in his eyes became even more obvious.
He seems to follow some kind of instruction, leaning more towards observation and limited intervention than 'supervision' or 'guidance'.
This angel who descended to earth, however, seemed like a clueless infant in the face of common sense in the human world, causing many things that were both funny and absurd.
“Castio, that’s a toilet, not a washbasin for washing your face,” Dean said helplessly, pointing to the bathroom fixtures as the angel prepared to wash her face. (End of Chapter)
