Chapter 1188 The Final Seal
As he carefully navigated through the rusty pipes and dilapidated factory buildings, a familiar figure emerged from the heavy shadows.
It's Ruby.
The female demon, who was both righteous and evil and possessed great power, looked somewhat pale, and her eyes held an unusual solemnity.
“Sam,” she said, getting straight to the point in a low voice, “there’s no time for pleasantries. The sealing is progressing far beyond your expectations. Now, only the last spot remains.”
"What?!" Sam exclaimed in shock, his heart sinking. "The last one? Where is it?"
“Maryland, a monastery called St. Mary’s,” Ruby said quickly. “Lilith will have her final rites there. Listen, this isn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision; Yellow Eyes has been planning this since 1972!”
“A horrific massacre took place in that monastery, and the lingering resentment and despair still haunt it; it is the perfect breeding ground for the final seal.”
She paused, looked at Sam meaningfully, and added, "Besides the location and the offerings, we also need a special 'key'."
A child with a special bloodline.
And that child is you—Sam.
Ruby's eyes sharpened: "The Yellow-Eyed Demon chose you and gave you power, not just to make you his soldier, but because you are the most crucial link in his plan!"
"The only thing that can stop Lilith from completing the final seal now is this 'cursed' power within you!"
"Only you can kill Lilith."
This news hit Sam like a hammer blow.
The childhood trauma he had always feared and resisted turned out to be the key to the final disaster. Upon hearing this, he immediately took out his phone to contact Dean, but found that the signal was blocked by some force and he could not get through.
An ominous premonition gripped his heart, and he wanted to go find Dean immediately.
At this moment, Dean is at the location pointed to by another clue.
Inside an abandoned apartment building on the outskirts of the city, where demons are said to have once held small-scale sacrificial ceremonies.
He cautiously pushed open a half-closed door, and dust and cobwebs rushed out.
However, the moment he stepped inside, the scene before him changed dramatically!
The stained walls, broken furniture, and decaying places all vanished instantly, as if erased by an eraser.
Instead, there was an absolutely enclosed room with four pure white walls, no doors or windows, no decorations, and a light source of unknown origin.
"what happened?"
Dean immediately drew his gun and cautiously looked around, trying to find an exit, but all he could find were smooth, despairing white walls.
He suspected he had been tricked by the devil, so he decisively fired at the wall, but the ricocheting bullet almost injured him, which also proved that the walls around him were real and not an illusion.
“Don’t be nervous, Dean Winchester,” a calm yet authoritative voice rang out.
Dean turned around abruptly and saw a man wearing a well-tailored, spotless charcoal gray suit, with his hair neatly combed and completely silver-white.
It appeared in the center of the room at some unknown time.
The man looked to be about fifty years old, with a kind of stern expression and deep, starry eyes that seemed cold and devoid of emotion.
There's a contradictory sense of conflict in this person's face and eyes.
Dean recognized him. He had caught a glimpse of him in a previous incident, where Castio had treated him with extreme respect. This was an archangel, Castio's direct superior.
"It's you! Let me out! I have important business to attend to and must stop the War of Apocalypse!" Dean shouted anxiously, instinctively pointing his gun at the other man, even though he knew it was probably pointless.
Ever since the last cliff teleportation incident, he has had no liking for these birdmen.
Upon hearing this, the archangel's face revealed a faint, haughty smile that carried a sense of superiority.
"Stop the Apocalypse War?" He thought to himself as if he had heard a funny joke.
Then he gently shook his head: "No, you've got it wrong, Dean. The War of Apocalypse is inevitable; it's a necessary step in the reconstruction of order. You never need to stop it."
"What?!" Dean could hardly believe his ears.
The archangel paced slowly, his voice like a pronouncement: "You are the chosen one, Dean Winchester."
"Your goal has never been to stop Apocalypse itself; your mission is to stop Lucifer after the War of Apocalypse begins."
He stopped, his gaze pressing down on Dean as if it were a physical presence: "To ensure the smooth setup of this final stage, and to allow Lilith to complete her 'work' without interference, we've dispatched two archangels this time. One is to 'persuade' your restless friend Lor, and the other is me, to ensure you don't encounter any danger at the wrong time, after all, you are the chosen one of Heaven."
"The players cannot afford any accidents before they go on stage."
Dean's mind was in complete chaos. The purpose of Heaven, his so-called 'mission,' and Lucifer were all overwhelming and terrifying information.
"Aren't you angels? Why are you doing this? I remember you were preventing the seal from being broken before," he questioned, his heart filled with concern for the ordinary people.
"Heh, just a necessary disguise."
"Do you understand acting? We above have to maintain appearances." The archangel spread his hands, smiled kindly, and spoke frankly.
But this only made Dean more helpless and anxious.
Meanwhile, Sam, having finally broken free from the signal interference, hurriedly called Dean, only to find that Dean was also offline. So he sent Dean a text message with a voice message explaining the urgency of the situation.
He could no longer delay; even if he couldn't contact Dean, he had to take immediate action.
By the time the apocalypse truly begins, it will be too late.
As the vehicle rounded a corner, Sam keenly caught a glimpse of a demon flashing by.
He immediately chased after them without hesitation.
The tracking process was not smooth; the demon seemed to be intentionally luring him in, but Sam, with his increasingly powerful senses and abilities, gradually figured out the direction and discovered more traces of the demon's activities.
They appear to be gathering in a specific area.
“That’s right. It seems they really are preparing to break the final seal.” Sam’s heart grew heavier.
Just as he was passing through a narrow alley, a figure stumbled out from another direction—it was Ruby.
She looked quite disheveled at the moment, with a trace of blood at the corner of her mouth and her breathing somewhat disordered.
"Sam!" Ruby exclaimed urgently upon seeing him, "I've found their gathering place, in the old warehouse not far ahead. They're heavily guarded; I was injured while trying to get closer to scout. We must stop them immediately; we can't let them finish their preparations!" (End of Chapter)
