Chapter 958 Repairing the Corpse
She suddenly looked up at the priest in front of her, then at Jeff and Kevin beside her, and frantically grabbed Kevin's hand, almost spilling the holy water.
She pleaded with Kevin, "Sir, please save me!"
Now that she has regained her senses, she has lost the evil spirit's perception of hatred. She was killed by Kevin's sneak attack, so she doesn't even know who the killer is.
However, the evil spirit's innate fascination with its enemies led her to seek out Kevin.
“Me!” Kevin gritted his teeth and looked at Ron. “Priest, please save her, no matter what it takes.”
He suddenly wanted to atone for his sins.
Ron slightly raised his hand to signal him not to speak, then turned to look at the white-clad evil spirit in front of him: "Don't worry, child, I'm here to help you."
“Think carefully about your memories, and tell me first, what is your name!” Ron’s voice was magnetic and gentle, and his aged face gradually calmed the girl down.
The girl tilted her head slightly, carefully pondering the memories in her mind.
“My name is Riley.” She frowned and thought hard, piecing together fragments of her thoughts as if they were being repaired. As she felt an uncomfortable swelling in her brain, she finally managed to string together a complete word: “Lina Riley!”
“My name is Lina, Pastor!” she said excitedly.
As she uttered her name, her eyes regained their clarity; she had given herself a name and rediscovered her soul and humanity.
Only at this moment did she break free from the hatred of the evil spirit, a human soul.
Because evil spirits have no name, and she has found her memories, which are the essence of a person—proof of their existence—plus the fact that her own personality hasn't been completely distorted by evil.
She has gained a possibility.
"Son, you've had a bit of an accident. How are you feeling now?" Ron asked with a smile.
"I don't know, but it seems like something terrible happened."
"I feel extremely uncomfortable, as if I'm surrounded by a swarm of insects, and it seems like every part of my skin is malfunctioning."
"It's like I've entered a dark place, some underground space, where there are many terrifying creatures."
"Some of them had already turned into corpses, but even as corpses, they were still very noisy, constantly disturbing my peace and trying to get me to join them."
"But I refused. I felt like I had some unfinished business."
When Lina got to this point, Kevin, who was standing next to her, felt a bit overwhelmed and ashamed.
The unfinished business the other party mentioned must be seeking revenge against me!
He had nothing to say. He had killed the man, and the man was just seeking revenge, like going to Jeff to avenge the theft of his ex-wife and children.
His life motto was to avenge wrongs and seek justice.
“You should feel better now, right?” Ron said.
"Hmm, I feel a bit refreshed, but I still feel uncomfortable. It seems like those things haven't left my body; they're just being suppressed temporarily. I can feel it," Lina said, still sounding very uneasy.
"Kevin, I'm leaving this to you."
"Bring her back."
“Okay, I’ll go right away!” Kevin naturally knew that the priest was referring to the girl’s body.
He held out his hand to Jeff, who was standing next to him, "Excuse me, could I borrow your car keys? Thanks."
Jeff gave Kevin a disdainful look, but he didn't want to cause Ron any trouble. Out of respect for the priest, he tossed the key to Kevin in a huff.
Kevin took it and drove away.
He walked all the way to the forest, to the place where he had buried the girl. He dug open the pit in front of him with a shovel, pulled out the girl's decomposing body, put it in the trunk, and drove back to the church. The girl was in the prayer room, praying quietly with her eyes closed, as Ron had asked.
Ron told her not to open her eyes under any circumstances.
After placing the body on the ground and examining it for a moment, Ron turned to Kevin and said, "Her body wasn't well preserved; part of it has already decomposed."
"These traumas are irreversible."
"Flesh and blood need flesh and blood to replenish themselves, and to repair it, some fresh human tissue is needed."
Ron stared at the girl's body on the ground. He had been feeling guilty all these days, especially now that the body was right in front of him and the soul the girl had saved was in the prayer room. It seemed that death could no longer avoid this reality.
“Pastor, I am willing to offer my own flesh and blood, but I don’t know if that will be enough?” Kevin said in a deep voice.
"you?"
Ron looked at Kevin in surprise.
His original idea was to find a newly deceased corpse, or some scourge of human society, to directly take their lives and use their flesh and blood to fill this place, so that it could bloom into even more beautiful flowers.
But to his surprise, Kevin said something that made him look at Kevin with new respect.
"Have you made up your mind?"
"I've made up my mind. This damn life is just torture. I've lost my wife and kids, and there's a huge monster chasing me. Even that devil is scared and has given up on me. I guess I'll die sooner or later."
"I might as well use my still-useful body to make up for some of the mistakes I've made." Kevin's eyes held a hint of insight.
Ron could tell that this guy was being sincere.
“Since this is what you hope for, then I respect your choice.” Ron nodded.
"Come on!" Kevin closed his eyes, preparing for death.
Ron walked over to Kevin and gently touched the top of his thigh. Without a sound, Kevin felt a piercing pain, which made him grit his teeth and open his eyes.
Ron the pastor's hand looked like a red-hot scalpel, cutting through plastic.
His hand silently burrowed into the flesh of Kevin's thigh, leaving no trace of cutting, as if scooping out a piece of cake, easily severing Ron's right leg and placing it next to the girl's corpse.
Then it's the left leg.
Then came the left and right hands.
Kevin just gritted his teeth and watched silently.
Thanks to Ron's methods, even after his limbs were removed, he did not bleed much, and his wounds healed almost instantly.
He has been turned into a human pig.
Then a white energy, like a light mist, surged from Ron's body, enveloping Lina's corpse on the ground and Kevin's limbs.
"Her body wasn't completely rotten; there was enough flesh and blood."
As Ron spoke, Kevin's limbs turned into a blood-plasma-like mass, and even his bones completely melted away.
Then it merged into Lina's corpse, and her body visibly began to come back to life.
The rotting wound was constantly being pushed out from the inside, revealing completely necrotic flesh, along with various fungi, maggot eggs, and even live insects.
In a short while, her body had fully recovered. (End of Chapter)
