Chinese medicine is extensive, profound and all-encompassing.

It can be said that traditional Chinese medicine is the way and Western medicine is the technique.

Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history and is people-oriented.

I changed my career to Western medicine and became a veterinarian.

Since ancient times, there have been countless masters in the medical field, but only a few of them have left their names in history.

Bian Que not only ranks among them, but is also the leader of the five great medical scientists in ancient times.

He was a skilled doctor and saved countless lives throughout his life.

But in the end, he did not have a good ending, which is a pity.

Bian Que was a medical scientist who carried on the tradition and pioneered new technologies. He summarized and developed the experience of his predecessors and laid the foundation for diagnostic methods in traditional Chinese medicine.

Bian Que was the first famous and verifiable folk doctor in Chinese history, and also the first medical scientist with a biography in Chinese history.

Bian Que laid the foundation of the four diagnostic methods of traditional Chinese medicine, namely, observation, auscultation, questioning and palpation, pioneered Chinese medicine, developed the science of prescriptions, and was hailed as the Saint of Prescriptions.

"Bian Que, surnamed Qin, given name Huan, courtesy name Yue Ren, respectfully called Bian Que, alias Lu Yi."

"When Bian Que was young, he managed an inn for someone else."

"One day, a guest named Chang Sangjun came to stay at the inn."

"Bian Que thought he was a remarkable man and treated him with great respect."

"Chang Sang Jun also felt that Bian Que was not an ordinary person, and he kept in touch with him for more than ten years."

"One day, Lord Changsang came to the inn again and asked Bian Que to come and chat with him."

"Chang Sang Jun told Bian Que that he had a secret recipe passed down from his ancestors."

“Now that I’m old, I don’t want to take them to my grave.”

"Because I know Bian Que's character, I want to pass on the secret recipe to Bian Que."

"But he asked Bian Que not to reveal it, and Bian Que immediately agreed."

"Chang Sang-jun took out a packet of medicine from his bosom and gave it to Bian Que, asking him to take it with dew from plants."

"In this way, after thirty days, Bian Que will be able to understand all kinds of medicines and understand everything."

"After that, Chang Sang-Jun gave all his secret recipes and medical books to Bian Que."

"Bian Que took the medicine for 30 days in a row according to Chang Sang Jun's instructions."

"After 30 days, he could see people on the other side of the wall, and could see people's internal organs through their clothes."

"In order not to reveal his special abilities, Bian Que still used the traditional method of taking the pulse and asking questions as a cover-up."

"After that, Bian Que traveled around to treat patients, sometimes in Qi and sometimes in Zhao."

"When he was in the State of Zhao, he borrowed the name of Bian Que, the divine doctor of the Yellow Emperor in ancient mythology, and called himself Bian Que."

Hua Tuo: Bian Que has always been the ancestor of Chinese medicine and a role model for our generation.

As the saying goes, Bian Que had six principles of not treating things when practicing medicine.

First, those who rely on power and are arrogant and domineering will not be punished.

Second, those who are greedy for money and disregard their lives will not be cured.

Third, people who overeat and have irregular eating habits cannot be cured.

Fourth, if the disease is too advanced to be cured, it cannot be cured unless medical treatment is sought early.

Fifth, those who are too weak to take medicine should not be treated.

Sixth, believing in witchcraft and not trusting medical treatment will lead to incurable diseases.

In the Spring and Autumn Period, wizards were always the mortal enemies of doctors.

These people used so-called witchcraft to treat patients, causing many patients to die due to lack of timely treatment.

Bian Que hated the behavior of witches very much and once clearly stated the so-called six things that cannot be cured. He would never treat anyone who believed in witchcraft.

Bian Juan was not only good at taking pulses and diagnosing patients through observation, but was also good at using acupuncture, massage, decoctions and other methods to treat various diseases.

Bian Juan spent his entire life carefully summarizing the experience of his predecessors and combining it with his own medical practice, making outstanding contributions to Chinese medicine in the diagnosis of pathology.

Bian Que's medical experience occupies an important position in the entire history of Chinese medicine and has a great influence on the development of Chinese medicine.

"During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the government of Jin was monopolized by the minister Zhao Jianzi."

"Once, Zhao Jianzi fell ill and was in a coma for five days. The doctors summoned Bian Que to diagnose him."

"After Bian Que examined Zhao Jianzi, Zhao Jianzi's official Dong Anyu came forward to question Bian Que."

"Bian Que believed that Zhao Jianzi's blood was normal, and said that Qin Mugong had also suffered from this disease in the past and had been in a coma for seven days before waking up."

"At that time, Duke Mu of Qin woke up and told his subordinate Gongsun Zhi."

"He said that the heavens told him that Jin would soon be in chaos, and that there would be no peace for the next five generations, but that there would be a monarch who would dominate the other states."

"But this monarch will die before he grows old, and his son will be a dissolute man."

"Gongsun Zhi recorded and kept what Qin Mugong said. Later, the state of Jin really behaved as Qin Mugong said."

"Duke Xian of Jin was promiscuous, while Duke Wen of Jin became hegemon."

"After Duke Xiang of Jin defeated the Qin army at Mount Yi, he began to indulge in his carnal desires."

"Bian Que believed that Zhao Jianzi was suffering from the same disease as Qin Mugong. He would wake up within three days and would have something to say to his ministers after waking up."

"Two and a half days later, Zhao Jianzi woke up as expected, and told the doctors around him."

"He said that God told him that Jin would decline with each generation, and would perish after seven generations."

"The Qin Ying clan will defeat the Zhou dynasty in the west of Fankui, but will not be able to occupy the Zhou dynasty."

"After listening to Zhao Jianzi's words, Dong Anyu also wrote them down truthfully and kept them well."

"Then the doctors told Zhao Jianzi about Bian Que's diagnosis of his illness. Zhao Jianzi thought Bian Que was a miracle doctor, so he gave him 40,000 acres of fertile land."

Zhang Zhongjing: Legend has it that Bian Que once replaced the hearts of two people. His medical skills are admirable.

Gong Hu of Lu and Qi Ying of Zhao fell ill and both went to ask Bian Que to treat them.

After diagnosing the two people, Bian Que directly stated that the illnesses they suffered were caused by the invasion of external evils that affected the functions of the internal organs, so they could be cured with medicine or acupuncture and moxibustion.

However, both of them suffer from a congenital disease.

As the body grows, they become more pronounced and more severe.

After hearing what Bian Que said, the two were very surprised and hurriedly asked what kind of disease it was.

Bian Que believed that Gong Hu had a strong self-will but lacked courage.

Therefore resourceful, but indecisive.

It is believed that Qi Ying has a weak self-will, but is courageous.

Therefore, he is not good at making plans, but acts arbitrarily.

If they could exchange their hearts, they would both be perfect.

The two thought it made sense and were willing to let Bian Que treat them.

So Bian Que made them drink anesthetic wine, and Gong Hu and Qi Ying were in a coma for three days.

While they were under anesthesia, Bian Que performed thoracotomy on them.

Their hearts were taken out, exchanged, and then put back into their respective chest cavities.

Then apply the magic medicine and the wound heals perfectly.

The two men bid farewell to the great doctor Bian Que and went home.

Unexpectedly, the result of the heart transplant was that Gong Hu returned to Qi Ying's home and lived with Qi Ying's wife and children, but Qi Ying's wife and children did not recognize him.

Qi Ying went to Gong Hu's home and lived with Gong Hu's wife and children, but Gong Hu's wife also did not recognize him.

So the two families started a lawsuit and asked the legendary doctor Bian Que to give an explanation.

The lawsuit was settled only after Bian Que explained the matter clearly.

This operation made Bian Que famous and he became a respected miracle doctor.

"Once, Bian Que was traveling to practice medicine and passed through Guo State."

"Seeing that the people of Guo were in a state of turmoil, he asked what had happened."

"Someone told Bian Que that the prince had just died and the people were preparing for the funeral."

"Bian Que arrived at the palace gate and happened to meet the middle son who was proficient in medicine coming out of the palace."

"Bian Que asked him what disease the prince died of, and Zhong Shuzi replied that it was a disease of disharmony of qi and blood."

"Bian Que then asked how long the prince had been dead, and Zhong Shuzi replied that he died when the cock crowed, and the body had not yet been embalmed."

"Bian Que asked the middle son to go to the palace and report that he could bring the prince back to life."

"But the middle son did not believe it, so Bian Que explained the reason."

"When practicing medicine, he can tell the cause of the disease without feeling the pulse, looking at the complexion, listening to the voice, or observing the shape of the body."

"Because the external manifestations of the disease can be used to infer the internal causes, and the external manifestations can be inferred from the internal causes."

"If there is disease in the human body, it will be reflected on the surface of the body."

“So, it can be used to diagnose patients thousands of miles away.”

"Bian Que also told Zhong Shuzi that if he thought he was deceiving him, he could try to go to the palace to examine the prince again."

"The prince must have heard a ringing in his ears and his nostrils moved slightly. He touched his genitals along his legs, which should still be warm."

"So, the middle son went to the palace to examine the prince again, and sure enough, everything was just as Bian Que said."

"So he reported Bian Que's words to the king of Guo, who invited Bian Que to the palace to treat the prince."

"Bian Que told the king of Guo that the prince was suffering from what is commonly known as corpse-legged disease." "Bian Que ordered his disciple Zi Yang to sharpen a stone needle and find the Baihui acupoint of the prince and insert the needle."

"After a while, the prince woke up."

"Then Bian Que asked another disciple, Zibao, to prepare a medicinal compress that could penetrate 50% of the body."

"Add the Eight Reduction Recipes to the mixture and boil it, then apply it alternately under the prince's sides."

"Then the prince was able to sit up."

"Bian Que further harmonized the prince's yin and yang, and after only 20 days of taking the decoction, the prince was completely cured."

"Ever since Bian Que cured the illness of the prince of Guo, people all over the world believe that Bian Que has the ability to bring the dead back to life."

"When Bian Que heard this, he said that he could not bring the man back to life. The man was already alive, and what he did was just to make him stand up."

Sun Simiao: In terms of treatment, Bian Que was able to skillfully use comprehensive treatment methods.

Bian Que was the first doctor to apply the diagnosis method of pulse taking, and his method was of relatively high level.

In the pre-Qin period, Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis was based on the three-part and nine-symptom method.

That is, when diagnosing a disease, you must feel the pulse of the entire body, including the head, neck, upper limbs, lower limbs, and torso.

Bian Que's pulse diagnosis and theory can be reflected in the diagnosis of the case of Prince of Guo.

At that time, Prince Guo was already unconscious, and Bian Que diagnosed him as having a limp after taking his pulse.

He believed that the patient's yin and yang pulses were not in harmony, resulting in a disorder in the pulse pattern of the whole body, so the patient appeared to be dead.

In fact, the patient did not actually die.

In addition to pulse diagnosis, he also observed slight movement of the patient's nostrils.

After touching the thighs, he found that the surface of the two thighs was still warm, so he dared to make this judgment.

The acupuncture and hot compress used by Bian Que are common methods to dredge blood vessels.

Once his blood circulation is unblocked, the prince will naturally recover slowly.

In the case of treating the prince of Guo, Bian Que used methods including acupuncture, hot ironing, and decoctions.

Comprehensive therapy was Bian Que's main treatment measure when practicing medicine, and it was very effective in treating patients.

"Once, Bian Que passed by Qi State, and Duke Huan of Qi invited him to be his guest."

"When Bian Que saw Duke Huan of Qi, he looked at his complexion and said that Duke Huan of Qi had a disease between his skin and muscles."

"If you don't get medical attention quickly, the condition will progress."

"Duke Huan of Qi disagreed and insisted that he was not ill."

"After Bian Que left, Duke Huan of Qi told his ministers that doctors love to gain benefits and want to claim credit for treating healthy people."

"Five days later, Bian Que met with Duke Huan of Qi again and told him that his disease was already in his blood vessels and if it was not treated it would spread deeper into his body."

"Duke Huan of Qi still didn't take it seriously and said he was not sick."

"Five days later, Bian Que came to see Duke Huan of Qi again and said that his disease had already entered his intestines and stomach, and if it was not treated, it would invade his body."

"Hou Huan of Qi ignored him as usual."

"Five days later, Bian Que came to see Duke Huan of Qi."

"But this time, after he saw Duke Huan of Qi, he left without saying a word."

"Marquis Heng of Qi was puzzled and sent someone to ask Bian Que why he did this."

"Bian Que replied that if the disease is between the skin and the muscles, it can be cured with decoctions."

"It's in the blood vessels and can be removed with acupuncture."

"Between the intestines and stomach, medicinal wine can also heal."

"But if the disease enters the bone marrow, even the God who controls life will be helpless."

"He believed that Duke Huan of Qi's disease had already spread to his bones and was incurable, so he stopped asking for treatment."

"Five days later, Duke Huan of Qi really fell ill."

"He immediately sent for Bian Que, but Bian Que had already fled Qi."

"Not long after, Duke Huan of Qi fell ill and died."

"In the Spring and Autumn Period when medicine was not very advanced, Bian Que was able to tell the cause of the disease and the progression of the disease from the complexion of Duke Huan of Qi. This was not easy."

Li Shizhen: The case of Duke Huan of Qi shows that Bian Que was already able to apply diagnosis by inspection very well at that time, and his diagnostic level was quite high.

Bian Que has applied comprehensive diagnostic techniques of traditional Chinese medicine in diagnosing diseases.

These are the four methods of diagnosis later summarized by Chinese medicine, namely inspection, auscultation, questioning and palpation.

These diagnostic techniques are fully reflected in some cases of Bian Que's treatment recorded in historical books.

Bian Que was an expert at observing the complexion of a patient, and he could use this to judge the disease, its course, and prognosis.

Judging from the case of Duke Huan of Qi, Bian Que attached great importance to disease prevention.

The reason why Bian Que repeatedly advised people to seek early treatment was that he had the idea of preventing disease before it happens.

Bian Que believed that diseases could be completely cured as long as measures were taken in advance and the diseases were eliminated in their early stages.

Therefore, Bian Que once pointed out with deep feeling that there are many kinds of diseases that exist objectively, but doctors are troubled by the fact that there are too few methods to treat diseases.

Therefore, Bian Que paid great attention to disease prevention.

"After Bian Que became a famous doctor, he could adjust his diagnosis and treatment according to local customs wherever he went."

"When he arrived in Handan, he heard that the locals respected women, so he became a gynecologist."

"When he arrived in Luoyang, he heard that the locals respected the elderly, so he became a doctor treating ear, eye, and rheumatism diseases."

"When he arrived in Xianyang, he heard that the Qin people loved children, so he became a pediatrician."

"He also created the four-diagnosis method of observation, auscultation, inquiry and palpation based on the medical experience of his predecessors."

"Among these four therapies, Bian Juan is particularly good at inspection and palpation."

"King Wu of Qin was competing with his warriors in lifting a tripod, and he injured his waist and suffered unbearable pain."

"I took the medicine from the imperial physician Li Xi, but my condition didn't improve and it got even worse."

"Someone told King Wu that the great doctor Bian Que had arrived in Qin, so he summoned Bian Que to the palace."

"Bian Que observed King Wu's demeanor, felt his pulse, and massaged his waist several times."

"Let King Wu move around a bit more, and he immediately felt much better."

"Then he gave King Wu another dose of medicine, and his symptoms completely disappeared."

"King Wu was delighted and wanted to appoint Bian Que as the Imperial Physician."

"When Li Xi found out, he was worried that Bian Que would surpass him in the future."

"He tried his best to stop it in front of King Wu, saying that Bian Que was just a quack doctor."

"King Wu was half-believing and half-doubting, but he did not give up the idea of employing Bian Que."

"Li Xi decided to get rid of Bian Que, the threat to him, and sent two assassins to kill him."

"But he was discovered by Bian Que's disciples and escaped the disaster temporarily."

"Bian Que had no choice but to leave Qin State, and they walked along the path north of Mount Li."

"Li Xi sent assassins disguised as hunters to rob and kill Bian Que on the way."

"A famous doctor of his generation died in the hands of a villain, but Bian Que's contribution to Chinese medicine will be forever engraved in the history books."

Li Shimin: It is not a good thing for a person to be too perfect. Bian Que was killed precisely because of his superb medical skills.

The legendary doctor Bian Que had superb medical skills. He traveled to many countries to treat patients and adapted to the local customs.

He constantly changed the direction of his medical practice according to different local customs, and eventually became a general practitioner who could cure any disease.

It is a pity that such a medical genius died due to the jealousy of Li Xi, the imperial physician of Qin State.

Bian Que's medical skills were so outstanding that he had few rivals.

He traveled around the world practicing medicine, and there were stories of his miraculous healing skills in almost every country.

A tree that stands out in the forest will be destroyed by the wind. Because of his superb medical skills, he was envied by others.

That is what is often said, colleagues are enemies, although doctors are there to cure diseases and save lives.

But if others are jealous and feel that their position is threatened, they will try to get rid of you.

The person who was jealous of Bian Que was Li Xi, the imperial physician of Qin State. It was he who sent people to assassinate Bian Que.

Talented people are often arrogant, and don't know how to please others or flatter others.

Although he has superb medical skills, he cannot avoid offending those in power.

The world is dangerous and there are too many bad people. There is no room for a miracle doctor to survive in such a chaotic world.

Although Bian Que had no desire for fame or fortune, he was inevitably burdened by reputation.

Even if he was not killed by the Qin imperial physician, he might have been killed by someone else.

As the saying goes, if you can't escape the first, you can't escape the fifteenth.

Bian Que was a rare medical genius in history, but it was a pity that he was brutally murdered by a villain in the end.

What the gentleman discards as worn-out shoes is exactly what the villain has been painstakingly pursuing. The villain does not understand the gentleman's pursuit and thinks that the gentleman is a hindrance to himself, and instead harms the gentleman.

Throughout history, many accomplished people have been harmed by villains, which is truly regrettable.

Everything should be done in moderation. All fame will eventually fade.

Everything will turn around when it reaches its limit, and everything that is prosperous will decline, just like Bian Que. (End of this chapter)
