Chapter 1313 Lorraine 1
"With this identity, you could practically do whatever you wanted within the clan." Tan You clicked her tongue in amazement: "How did you end up in such a miserable state?"

The beauty filter system delivered a witty remark: "He's just love-struck."

Tan You smiled slightly: "Being love-struck is definitely a bad thing; even zombies wouldn't eat that."

Countless people within the Houston family placed high hopes on the original owner, hoping that he would awaken his talent and lead the family to even greater glory.

But what about the original owner? She didn't awaken her talent at sixteen, so her family prepared for her marriage to her fiancé, Williams, as was customary. However, the original owner awakened her talent at seventeen, but she was worried that she wouldn't be able to be with Williams after awakening her talent, so she didn't tell anyone.

Because women who awaken their talents cannot marry out of wedlock, they can only marry into the family in order to continue the bloodline of the Houston family.

But the original owner knew that Williams was the only son of the Dubot family, so how could he possibly marry into the family? In order to secure this marriage, the original owner deliberately concealed this fact.

As a result, she kept the truth hidden and watched helplessly as all the elders of her family perished in the beast tide, leaving only her and her younger brother Louis to survive.

What's even more outrageous is that after all of the original owner's relatives died, the Dubot family, her fiancé's family, welcomed her and her younger brother Louis into their family under the guise of taking care of an orphan.

However, after arriving at the Dubote family, the original owner discovered that she could not live happily ever after with Williams as she wished.

When they were engaged, she and Williams frequently corresponded and were quite affectionate. But now that her family has lost power, Williams' attitude towards her has changed.

Although it's not to the point of breaking off the engagement, the original owner came to the Dubote family at the age of seventeen, and now she is twenty years old, but Williams still has no intention of getting married.

If the original owner hadn't used the engagement contract to coerce her, the marriage would probably have been delayed even longer.

In this era, many women marry at sixteen or seventeen. Because Williams kept delaying marriage, the original owner suffered a lot of cold looks from others over the years.

"Even a dog wouldn't eat someone with a love-struck brain," Tan You scoffed, ignoring the original owner's unpleasant emotional experiences, and began to peruse the family codes that the original owner had once read in her memories.

The last time a female Awakener appeared in the Houston family was a hundred years ago. At that time, she seemed to be communicating with the Goddess of Life? She became a follower of the Goddess of Life, and of course, she brought great glory to the family.

The Houston family's business of medicinal plants was thriving, at its peak they occupied almost half of the entire principality's market.

However, with the passing of this patriarch, the Houston family's business began to shrink gradually and could never return to what it once was.

Countless clansmen hoped that another believer in the gods would emerge from the clan. When the original owner was born, the clan was filled with joy, hoping that she could create another glorious chapter.

Unfortunately, no one expected that such a traitor would emerge from within the clan.

Yes, in Tan You's view, the original owner of the body, Luo Lin, was a treacherous ingrate. She disregarded the family that had raised her for over a decade, focusing all her attention on a vague promise from an outsider.

Even if the original owner of the awakened body couldn't handle the surging beast tide, if she had informed the family in advance, the family could have made plans earlier and even preserved more offspring. Why would the once-great Houston family now only have two heirs?

What I fear most is encountering such foolish people who can't see reality and whose minds are only filled with romance.

Tan You felt increasingly indignant for the Houston family. If this were her descendant, she would beat them senseless... Just as Tan You was lost in thought, she felt her soul leave her body and walk in darkness. As she walked, a six-winged archangel seemed to appear before her, radiating a holy light.

Tan You stared at him for several moments. Perhaps because she had once been part of the Dark God faction, she didn't have much affection for the Light faction or even angels, and always felt that he was fake.

Passing the holy archangel, Tan You continued forward, and she seemed to faintly hear a sigh of regret.

After walking across the crisp grassland, petting a couple of docile lambs, admiring the solitary daffodils by the calm river, and hugging a giant tree that could block out the sky, Tan You arrived in boundless darkness. She walked in the void for a long time before she finally felt that her feet were on solid ground.

Oh right, what was that thought of again? If any of her descendants were love-struck, she'd want to twist their heads off...

"Why are you so murderous, little guy?" A hazy and somewhat ethereal voice rang out, and Tan You felt as if she had entered a huge, upright funnel.

The funnel was entirely dark black. Standing above the funnel's opening and looking down, Tan You felt a wave of dizziness. Endless seawater poured down from the top of the funnel and disappeared at the bottom, its destination unknown.

A young man, who appeared to be around thirty, sat on a chair about three feet high in front of Tan You. He was resting his chin on his hand, looking at Tan You with a playful and amused expression.

Tan You recognized the other person's face at a glance. This face reminded Tan You of the Dark God she had once seen.

Or are we talking about dark deities, especially the male ones, whose appearances... are all so ordinary?
Thinking of the God of Light she had once met, although he was utterly despicable inside, he had always maintained a remarkably well-groomed appearance. Not to mention the female deities, who were all incredibly beautiful and elegant.

Why is it that when it comes to dark deities, everything is done in the roughest way possible?
“Little one, I know what you’re thinking,” the man chuckled, resting his chin on his hand as his gaze swept over Tan You’s brow. “You’re a chosen one of the gods from another world, but I see you have no faith.”

"I will always trust myself the most," Tan You said, calming herself and stopping her mind from wandering. She looked at the dark deity and boldly speculated about his identity: "The God of Darkness?"

“Doesn’t seem like it,” she quickly flipped through the original owner’s memories, and after a few seconds she laughed: “The God of the Abyss?”

“Very clever,” Tartarus laughed. “It has been so many years since anyone has come to my territory. I never expected that someone from another world would come today.”

He leaned closer to Tan You and glanced at her: "You're supposed to be a charitable person, then you should go to the God of Light. Why are you here with me?"

Tan You shrugged: "I don't know either. I was meditating, and I just ended up here."

"This shows that we are destined to meet."

Tartarus was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter: "Little guy, you're really funny."

Tan You wrinkled her nose: "I have a name, my name is Tan You."

Since they've already revealed their origins, it wouldn't be appropriate to mention the original owner's name again.

“Tan You,” Tartarus repeated Tan You’s name, “It’s a little strange, but it gets better after a while. When you came, didn’t you feel any attraction from other gods?”
